Dust rose up, obscuring Sabin's view. The herd had passed by him, but he couldn't see his friends. No doubt Gau had already bounded off somewhere else, so there wasn't much point calling for him, but Cyan. Cyan couldn't be that far away.
Rubbing grit from his eyes, he tried to see if he could make out even a silhouette of his friend. It was then he heard the squeal and nearly was trampled for a second time that day by a juvenile Vamamoth as it barreled past him.
It took a few moments for him to regain his bearings. The dust began to settle and Sabin could just make out the dark color of Cyan's armor. Smiling, he called to him.
"Hey! Cyan! You all right?"
