Even though I updated a lot, please still leave some love! I need the encouragement. Treatment yesterday was hard on a girl! Lots of love!

"This is nice." Pete smiled as he held Ariana in his arms. She had fallen asleep in the car and Pete didn't want Cadence to have to carry her. He still remembered her back problems from when they were younger. An injury that occurred at the hands of her Uncle.

"Thanks." Cadence smiled as she opened the door and pushed it open. Immediately she regretted it as she walked into the living room. Turning around she grabbed Bronx that had been walking in behind her. "Go." She said as she pushed Pete out of sight.

"What..what's going on?" Pete was suddenly confused by her actions. "Cadence, what is wrong?"

"My husband..he.." She could not believe what she had seen. "He's home." She shook her head. Could she really get away with this without Pete questioning anything else. "Let's go to your house." Deep down she had feeling this was going on. She knew the girl all to well. It was David's drug dealer that he was currently entangled with on the couch. Needles scared about, drugs left over.

"Cadence, what is going on, seriously." He looked at her as he tried to push past her. "You shouldn't act like this just because your husband is home, unless something is going on that's really wrong." He stressed.

"Nothing for these children to see." She shook her head. Ariana was asleep and young enough not to know. Bronx was not. "Take your son and go." She whispered.

"I'm not going anywhere." He handed her Ariana and told Bronx to stay. Coming around the corner his eyes caught glimpse of everything that Cadence had seen and now understood why she was acting the way she was. "What the fuck?!" He yelled.

David immediately jumped up at the sign of Pete. "Who the fuck are you?"

"Your worst fucking nightmare buddy." He lunged towards David knocking him to the ground. "What the fuck are you doing? You get out." He pointed out the girl. Was this really happening? Was this really how Cadence and Arii were living? With a drug addict who had sex with random women while his wife was at work? "Cadence, now." Pete sneered through teeth once he had let David get up and put his clothes on.

Cadence had never heard that tone in Pete's voice. She told Ariana to take Bronx upstairs and to close the door and Ariana knew exactly what she was meant to do. She would show Bronx her toys and turn on her tv. Everything would be ok. At least now she knew Pete would protect her mommy.

"Explain." Pete looked at Cadence once she walked in the room.

"He wasn't supposed to be here..." She stumbled over her words. Her husbands glare was burning into her skin. "When did you start fucking Amanda?" She asked.

"When you stopped leaving me enough money for my drugs and decided that little brat couldn't wear hand me downs." David seethed. "And who the fuck is this? A little fucking boy toy? If you're sucking his dick it better be for money because now I'm gunna have to pay for the heroin now." He seethed.

Cadence's eyes grew large as she didn't have time to answer before Pete lunged at David again and smashed his head into the floor. "Talk to her like that again. I fucking dare you." Pete had never been so mad in his life.

"Pete, stop, your son is upstairs, he doesn't need to see you like this." Cadence was grabbing at his arm. "I can handle my husband." She was trying to pull him off of David.

"I don't care!" Pete screamed standing up. "And this is why your face was bruised." It was half a question and half an assumption.

David had brought himself back to his feet. "I believe MY wife asked you to leave, shrimp." He had composed himself enough to make sure if Pete came at him again he wouldn't be over powered by this midget.

"Don't even fucking get me started. And as far as your 'wife'." He used air quotes around the word. "You'll never be seeing her again." He seethed. "Come near her again and I will end your life without a blink of a fucking eye you god damn junkie."

David looked at Cadence. "Give me my money, bitch." He snarled. She quickly took the money out of her pocket and gave it to him.

Pete shook his head as he grabbed Cadence's hand. "Don't give him another fucking dime. Go upstairs and get your daughter's stuff and yours and let's go."

"I can't leave, Pete. I pay the bills...he needs somewhere to be. He's sick."

"Sick?" Pete was fathomed. "He's about as sick as your uncle and father. He's a junkie. Remember, how you hate junkies?" He looked at her.

"Oh this must be the asshole you left when you went away to school. The one who saved you from being your uncle's personal sex slave." David smirked. "Now I know where I know you from. Well, guess what? That's my wife and MY daughter and they aren't going anywhere with you."

"That's not fair, Pete. I love him." Cadence said as she looked between the two of them.

"This isn't fair to Ariana. You want him to do to her what your uncle did to you?" He questioned. He wouldn't put it past David to hurt Arii. "I will call ACS." He didn't want to threaten her but this was making no sense. "All you have to do is get your stuff and come home with me."

"To what, Pete? The home you share with your wife?" She questioned.

Pete sighed. "She does not live there anymore. It's me, alone, by myself, with my thoughts. You and Arii can save me and I can save you guys, please?" He begged. "And, we'll move somewhere else, but right now, this is NOT for you." He was almost begging her.

Cadence sighed and nodded, running up the stairs. She would pack whatever she could and they would go. If she had Pete she could always accomplish anything she put her mind to and well she would not risk losing her daughter to ACS because quite frankly she knew this was not the enviroment.

Pete looked at David as he was almost playing bodyguard. "You leave them alone and I will give you $100,000." He said. "You can disappear into whatever world you want. But you will not hurt them. One time offer."

David looked at him. "I want it now." He smirked.

"I'll drop it by later. I'm assuming your drug dealer doesn't take checks. But I mean it. Not a word to Cadence, ever." He looked at him.

David nodded as he dropped down on the couch and spread out. "It'll be better without them in the way anyway." He turned the tv on and started to cook up his next batch of heroin.

Cadence came down the stairs lugging bags. Pete ran over to help her and grabbed them. "There's a few more." She said. "I can still speed pack." She was trying to make light of it. Pete nodded and went upstairs with her to grab the rest of the bags. Then they got the kids and got them out of the house.

"I hope you fucking choke." Pete muttered as he slammed the door behind him after he had gotten the last of the stuff Cadence had wanted. "Piece of shit."

"Daddy where are we going now? I'm hungry." Bronx sighed from his car seat. Pete had been so over whelmed with everything going on, he completely forgot the kids were probably starving.

"Alright, we're going to take Cad and Arii home with us, baby. I promise we'll get pizza, how does that sound?" He asked.

Bronx nodded as they started driving. He kept checking his review mirror to make sure Cadence was behind him. She was a bleeding heart. She always would be. But this time she had to love her daughter more than anyone she thought she could save. How did she get into this mess again? He sighed as he drove. Looking in his rearview mirror at Cad's car behind his he could see she was crying.
