Pulling into the parking lot of the park, Pete shut off his engine and looked back at his son. "Alright, are you going to be a good boy for Daddy?" Pete asked smirking. It was about as likely to get Bronx to behave as it was to get himself to behave today. He loved his son to death but they warn you about the terrible twos. No one warns you that it lasts until just about five and considering his son had just turned four he still had fun times ahead of him.

"I guess Daddy, but girls are stinky." Bronx shrugged as he looked out the window. There were no other cars in the lot yet, but instead of letting Bronx get couped up in the car he was going to start letting him run around. Hopefully after this he would go down for a nap.

"You won't always think that my little man." He smiled at the thought of Cadence. Patrick's words replaying in his head. 'She's married!'. He knew that. But a big part of him felt that it was not a happy marriage. How could it be? Did he really buy that slip and fall story for one minute anyway? He just didn't feel like he was in any place to call her out on that yet. It could make work really weird. Plus he could run the risk of losing her again. "One day you'll meet a girl who will knock the socks off your feet and you'll ever regret thinking any girls were icky or stinky." He nodded. "They'll be one girl that will complete you no matter what." He knew it was pretty deep advice for his four year old son but he couldn't help but smile.

"Like mommy?" Bronx smiled.

Pete looked down as he took off his seatbelt. He wished he could agree. He wished that Ashlee had given him what he needed or well vice versa seeing as how she filed for divorce. Out of the blue one day she just handed him papers and said she and Bronx were going to her parents until they found their own place. She told him that she couldn't handle this anymore. "Your mommy is an awesome girl." He nodded. He wasn't going to go around and bad mouth the mother of his child, but right now she was less than that perfect girl. And deep down he kind of always knew that she would never be that. She'd never be Cadence.

Grabbing Bronx out of his booster seat, he walked over to the park and opened the gate that they had around the park so that the kids couldn't risk running out into the street, or the parking lot. He put his son down and then leaned on the gate as he eyed Cadence pulling into the parking lot. "Hey you." He called as he held the gate open for her. "Hi, Ariana." He smiled as he looked at the little girl.

"Hi, Pete." She smiled wide as she fought to get down from her mother's arms. She had spent enough time at her mommy's job to know who Pete was. He always seemed to be around mommy lately and well she kind of liked the way mommy smiled when Pete was around. She still thought boys were gross though.

"Hi." Cadence smiled at him as she finally got settled as Ariana took off towards the play set where Bronx was already sitting playing with those blocks that they make spin.

"Hi." He said again as he looked at her. She just looked absolutely beautiful and it just made him feel so stupid. It was like he was twenty two all over again and he made her nervous. Because she always did. Even after everything, she always gave him that stupid feeling in his belly.

Cadence let out a laugh as they sat down on the bench, thankfully there was no one else around and well no signs of any papparazzi yet. She knew fully well what had come along with Pete's job. She may have distanced herself from it, but she wasn't naieve to it. "What a cutie he is." She was talking to him but her eyes were watching Bronx and Ariana.

"Yeah he gets that from his papa." He smiled at her.

"Uhm, we will go with that." She nodded. In reality she really didn't see much of any of Pete in Bronx. He was the spitting image of his mother. Cadence couldn't believe it. She had always thought Pete's genes would dominate in any children he had.

"What, you don't think I'm handsome?" He pouted at her.

"Please, I dated you. You'd have to be handsome for me to do that." She smirked at him.

"Uh huh, so I'm guessing your husband is quite the looker then isn't he?" He couldn't help but ask about, well the other man.

Cadence's eyes darted down as he mentioned her husband. She just wished she could shrink away from the world. If only Pete knew the situation she had gotten herself into again. "Oh yeah, male model type for sure." She smirked trying to laugh. In reality her husband had been a great looking guy. But, all the drugs had destroyed everything about him. His teeth were all falling out, he had lost so much weight and well all of the obvious signs of prolonged drug abuse.

"That's not your type!" Pete laughed. He wanted to yell that he was her type and well, she should be with him.

"And what is your type now anyway?" She looked at him. He had gone from her, to Ashlee and last she knew from google he was dating a young model named Eryn Calloway. "Leggy blondes with brown eyes and model bodies." She laughed.

"Oh I'm guessing someone has access to a computer." He shook his head. "Dated a few times but so not my type." He smiled. "I like brown haired, blue eyed girls from chicago.." He got closer to her. "That I already know are good in bed." He whispered as he ignored Patrick's voice in his head.

"Things could change." She smirked back ignoring her own inner voices.

"Bet they didn't." He could feel the heat rising between the two of them. What if her husband was a nice guy and accidents did happen? He wouldn't like it, no scratch that, he didn't like it when he was cheated on. All of the sudden he was broken out of his thoughts by the clap of thunder and the rain pouring down on them. "Not the kind of cold shower I had in mind." He laughed as they both got up and rushed to get their soon to be soaking wet kids.

"Do you want to come to my house? Less chance of papparazzi.." Cadence called from her car to his as they got out of the rain.

"I'll follow you." He nodded as he shut his window. Damn rain, just as it was getting good.

Cadence closed her own window and pulled out of the parking lot. David had told her this morning he was going to be gone for the next day. Doing what, she had no idea but she really didn't care. Her house would be clean, safe and well she really wasn't ready to let Pete leave yet. The kids were having fun after all. Yeah..the kids.
