Sorry for such a long delay guy. I have been really sick and just didn't have the energy to write anything or any inspiration.

"Mama, where are we going?" Ariana asked as she reached for Cadence's hand. The past week seemed to be a whirlwind and Cadence spent half the time not sure whether she was coming or going. They had David's funeral and then right after that Cadence and Pete had to go back to work to film the first set of intro's and what not for Best Ink! Now, they had a three day break before they had to go back to work and like promised Pete was taking Cadence, Ariana and Bronx to Chicago to see his parents. He was shocked when he had gotten Ashlee to agree to let him take Bronx but he also left out mostly the fact that Cadence and Ariana were going.

"We're going to go see Petey's parents." She said stepping off the plane and pushing the sunglasses down over her worn eyes. The week had been hard on her. She buried her husband, the man she was supposed to love and be with forever was now in the dirt, rotting away. The father of her child was gone. She knew what it was like to grow up without her parents. Especially when losing a parent to a drug addiction. She didn't even want to think about how to explain that to her daughter. On top of that she was still basically living at Pete's. She had decided to sell the house that she had shared with David because bringing Ariana back there was not an option. But, the market wasn't in it's best shape and she didn't want to take a loss on it.

"Oh, are they nice?" She asked.

"Very nice. When mommy was younger they took very good care of me." She always had fond thoughts of Pete's parents. They were always there for her. In fact when she and Pete broke up, it killed her more than anything that she had to severe the ties with his parents.

"Ok." Ariana shrugged as the walked through the airport. They were immediately swarmed by Paparazzi and Cadence had gone to scoop up Ariana but Pete already had her in his arms and Cadence smiled as she held on tightly to Bronx. She knew what Pete was trying to tell her. They continued their walk as they were swarmed by the same questions over and over again. Chourses of 'Pete is this your new girlfriend?' 'Pete is that your daughter?' were thrown at them. Cadence was fully ready for this. It wasn't the first time she had seen Pete swarmed, but in LA it was less noticeable and she certainly was never targeted.

"Keep walking." Pete instructed as they made it outside and immediately got into the car waiting for them. "Sorry." He mumbled as he got Ariana into her car seat.

"What are you sorry for?" She smiled as she rubbed his arm. Things had gotten less weird between the two of them but it still wasn't an ideal situation as far as Cadence was concerned. She felt like she had gone from a strong independant woman to a burden.

"I hate when they do that when I have him, and he understands! So I can only imagine how she feels." He leaned back in the seat.

Cadence felt her stomach turn as they pulled away. She had been feeling more and more nauseous lately. All these nerves and all the events going on in her life hadn't made it easy for her. She found herself drinking pepto more than anything else these days. "She's not even phased by it, Pete." She laughed.

Pulling up to the house, Cadence couldn't help but feel her heart beat a little faster. "Nothing's changed." She smiled as she looked at the house. This house had a lot of great memories. It was the first place she and Pete made love, first place they fought, first place she trusted anyone. The list could go on.

"The inside has changed a little bit." Pete smiled as he grabbed Ariana out of her carseat and also took Bronx's hand as he walked around the other side of the car.

Cadence couldn't help the smile on her face. She was about to speak when the door flung open and she immediatley recognized the people practically running down the steps.

"My baby!" Mrs. Wentz screeched as she ran right into Cadence's arms and held her so tightly. Cadence had completely melted into her arms. "Oh my god, I've missed you. Look at how beautiful you are." She gushed.

Pete's father, Pete Sr. immediately grabbed Cadence away and hugged her. He had provided much of the support for Cadence as a father figure in her relationship with Pete and he had always made sure that Pete treated her like a lady and treated her the way she deserved.

"Hi mom, hi dad!" Pete waved as best he could with two kids on his arms. "Mom, look. It's a mini Cad." He smiled as he showed Ariana to his mother.

"Oh my gosh, she is." Mrs. Wentz cooed as she picked up her grandson in a hug.

"She is beautiful." Mr. Wentz nodded. "Come on guys, let's go inside." He nodded as they all walked inside.

"Welcome home, baby." Pete whispered in Cadence's ear as he walked past her and put Ariana down on the floor. His breath on her skin sent chills down her spine as she looked at all the pictures that lined the walls. Most of the ones with Pete had Cadence in them as well. It was like she never left. It was like she really was home. Back with Pete where she belonged. Except, she and Pete weren't together. They weren't a couple and she had no idea if that would ever even be a possibility. A lot had changed over the years and they were both in really bad places. He was getting divorced, her husband just died. This could never work, could it? One more time she felt her stomach lurch forward and she immediately made a b-line for the bathroom. She couldn't avoid it this time.
