The word 'brother' isn't prevalent in Sasuke's vocabulary, mentally; it is a schema that encompasses only one, a limit, as if the word dog can only mean a terrier-nin. He pulls and pushes against it, and believes the resistance and exhaustion makes him stronger, like exercise.

Surprisingly, the word brother is not prevalent in Naruto's mind either. For Naruto, brotherhood is universal; his family is as large and varied as he can make it. He's going to be Hokage one day, which means taking care of everyone. Lately though, the word 'brother' means Sasuke, and that pain makes him weak.
