"I just feel like I haven't really lived my life. At all," I said to Pete, sipping on my stolen coffee. His coffee, to be exact.

"Why? Were you a nun or something?" He teased me. His smile was pretty intoxicating. For some reason, I couldn't stop myself from answering his every question.

"Yes, basically," I complained. Pete laughed as I continued. "I have been in school, getting my Ph.D. I spent almost 70-80 hours a week on campus and studying. But now I have a Ph.D. and a great job, but no life."

"What's actually on your bucket list?" He asked me. I felt a little embarrassed to tell him.

"Just things like stealing other people's coffee and going camping and stuff." I didn't want to divulge the more romantic items.

"Can I see the list?" He asked. I hesitated for a moment before pulling out my cell phone and bringing up the document. I handed it to him.

Before 30 Bucket List

1. Learn to sew
2. Take someone else’s drink at Starbucks
3. Meet someone famous
4. Learn to make sushi
5. Swim in the ocean
6. Get a tan
7. Go on a date
8. Visit New York City
9. Visit Chicago
10. Take a road trip
11. Go camping
12. Go dancing at a club
13. Get a tattoo
14. Ask a guy out/give a guy my number
15. Kiss a stranger
16. Have a one night stand
17. Fall in love

Pete scanned the list, smiling at some of them as he read. "Well, you can cross a few of these off this morning." He looked up, smiling.

"I guess I can," I said, looking at the list again. That's right, #3 was an unexpected event.

"You honestly haven't done all these?" He asked and I blushed a little.

"Like I said, I had no life."

"I could help you." He offered and it took me a second to process his words.

"What?" I was confused.

"I could help you complete this list." He said again, seeming very sincere.

"Why would you do that? I'm sure you've got way better things to do than help some stranger complete her 'before 30' bucket list."

"Honestly, I just got out of a 3 year relationship and I need a distraction. Plus, this kinda seems like fun."

"I'm sorry to hear that," I stated, feeling unsure of what to say. "Was the breakup really that bad?"

"Yes. I don't handle my negative emotions well, so I have to find something to preoccupy my time with."

I contemplated his offer for a moment. I did just move here for my job a week ago and knew no one in LA, so this might actually be a good thing for me. Maybe he could introduce me to people and I could make some friends and actually enjoy life a little more. Not that I didn't enjoy my time in school, but it was just one side of my life.

"Okay," I replied and he smiled.

"Awesome. What item should we start with?"
