"So here's what I'm thinking," Pete said as he waltzed into my living room, not even waiting for me to invite him in. "If you're going to to do this bucket list, you need to do it right."

"What do you mean 'do it right'?" I asked him. "It's my bucket list, so it should be things I want to do."

"I know, but there are things that everyone should experience, whether they want to or not," he stated, making me feel anxious.

"Like..." I asked hesitantly.

"Experience a hangover, stay up all night partying, party in Las Vegas, etc., etc.," he stated matter-of-factly and sat down on my couch.

"Okay, I can agree to some of those," I replied. "Let's add some in." I sat next to him on the couch and pulled up the list on my phone. We began discussing and typing new entries into my bucket list.

"This one makes me nervous," I say, pointing to #22.

"It's easier than you think," he states nonchalantly.

"Really? What? Go to a bathroom and lock the door?" I ask jokingly and he nods.

"It's leaving that can be embarrassing. Especially if you're loud." He scrolls through the screen on his phone. "We could do 18 tonight. Patrick wants to go out."

"Patrick Stump? How can I sing karaoke with him there?" I felt super anxious. I wasn't bad by any means, but Patrick was awesome. Plus I hadn't met any of Pete's friends in the two days we'd known each other.

"Do a duet. Patrick loves karaoke," Pete suggested. That would make it super awesome. I was starting to really like the fact that I'd stolen Pete's coffee.

"Okay, let's do it."

"Don't wear that," Pete stated when I walked out of my room. I had skinny jeans and a t-shirt on.

"Why not?" I asked, confused. He had on jeans and a t-shirt.

"Because you could try to go for 14, 15, 16, or 22 tonight." Um... what? I blushed at his statement. "Let me look," he demanded and walked into my room and started going through my closet.

"What are you looking for?" I asked him, watching his push my clothes around.

"Something slutty."

"Good luck finding that in there," I joked, mostly serious though.

"Well, then what do you wear to pick up guys?" He turns to ask me.

"I just steal their coffee, remember?" I joked. He laughed and rolled his eyes.

"No, seriously."

"Um... this?" I pointed to what I was already wearing.

"I'll have to take you shopping otherwise you'll have a hard time with picking up guys," he commented and I frowned. I didn't realize I was that repulsive. "Wear this," he said, handing me a silky button up blouse. I just nodded and took the shirt as he left to let me change.

"Better?" I asked, still feeling the sting of his comment.

"Yeah." He paused. "What's wrong?"

"I didn't realize I was so repulsive I'd have to dress like a slut to get a guy's attention." I stated, not looking at Pete. My feelings were hurt and I was embarrassed.

"Whoa... Allie. I didn't mean it like that. You're beautiful, but the guys in LA are pretty shallow. You are looking for quick fling type things and the type of guys who do that are not going to talk to someone who doesn't look like a whore."

I nodded and grabbed my purse. "Let's go," I said. Pete huffed in frustration and headed to the front door and we left.
