"Yeah, let's sing that," Patrick agreed with my choice. I was honestly a little anxious to sing with him. We decided to do Gotye's Somebody that I used to know. We filled out the slip of paper and handed it to the DJ before returning to our group. Pete was sitting there drinking some mixed drink and a beer was waiting for me.

"Got you a beer," he commented and I nodded.

"Thanks," I replied and took a sip. Patrick sat down next to his wife, Elisa, who seemed nice enough. It was just the four of us at the table and a few girls across the room were staring and giggling. Obviously they were fans.

"So you have a bucket list to complete before you turn 30?" Patrick asked. I let out a little embarrassed laugh.

"Ugh, yeah." I answered and took a sip of my beer. "I've spent the last 8 years of my life in college and haven't really had a life for the last 4. I want to make sure I'm not missing out on the typical things people do in their twenties."

"Seems reasonable enough. Sounds like fun, too," Elisa commented.

"Can you believe she's never had a one night stand?" Pete asked them. I sighed, embarrassed that he had to announce that.

"Good for you! They suck!" Elisa stated.

"Yeah, I've heard. But, I feel like it's a crappy experience I needed to have at least once."

"I'm sure we could pick someone out for you here," Patrick looked around.

"I think karaoke with a celebrity is enough of a check mark on the list for tonight," I laughed. Why were these guys so willing to help me score? It was a little weird.

About twenty minutes later, the DJ called Patrick and I up to sing. We got up there and I felt a little nervous at first, but it started going away as my part got closer. Patrick was killing it, as expected. I always felt nervous right before doing something, but not nervous during. It was kinda nice.

Once my part came, I started singing and I could see the shock on Pete's face, especially when Patrick and I were belting it out together in the end. Once the song ended, everyone there cheered loudly for us. I felt like an actual rock star for a moment and we made our way back to the table.

"Very nicely done!" Patrick said, giving me a high five.

"Yeah, no shit!" Pete exclaimed, clearly shocked by my talent. "No never said you were good!"

"Well, I was in choir all through high school and my first year of college, so I had some training," I commented.

"And you chose psychology because..." Pete asked and I just laughed at him. "No seriously."

"I like behavior analysis."

"Oooh! That's what you do?" Elisa seemed really interested. I began to tell her about what I've studied and my job, which I start in a couple of weeks, but I could feel Pete watching me the whole time. It was a little nerve wrecking to say the least.

Towards the end of the night, Patrick and I had sang a couple more songs together a I sang one solo. Pete kept eyeing me differently than before he heard me sing, which was kind of annoying. This is why I rarely sang in front of others, because they never expect me to have a voice like I do. I hate the extra attention.

Pete pulled up to my place and put his car in park. "Thanks for driving me and taking me out tonight. Your friends are awesome."

"No problem. Tonight was actually pretty fun. And you're really good. You totally should have gone into music."

"You're funny," I commented and grabbed my purse. "I'll talk to you later." I climbed out of the car.

"Allie?"

"Yeah Pete?" I asked, turning back to him.

"Um... let's uh... let's go out tomorrow night... work on 14, 15, 16, and 22." He stated, seeming conflicted.

"Okay. I'll go shopping tomorrow afternoon then." I said, remembering his mean comment earlier.

"I could go with you, give you input," he offered. I nodded.

"I'll text you. Night," I said and shut the door, walking into my place. Pete waited till I got my door open before driving off. Ugh... the dreaded 14, 15, 16, and 22. I wasn't sure if I was ready for a one night stand or sex in public just yet. The other two I feel I could manage. Well, we'll see what happens tomorrow night.
