Chapter 1: Return
Atrayu had been returning home from a four year training trip when he had heard the sounds of conflict and the howls of fellow wolves. He hadn’t been expecting to see them for a few more days and not least in the middle of a battle with the vampires for while there was a fair bit of tension between the children of the moon it had never progressed to actual combat. He hadn’t needed a lot of convincing to join the fray. He had run the circumference of the clearing before deciding to enter the clearing from behind the vampire’s ranks. He figured it was the safest option considering that he had no armor and so had gone with the element of surprise. He had decided to draw the enemy’s attention away from the force of wolves and marveled that it had worked so effectively. He marveled as he recalled the results of his training for it had almost seemed as if the vampires had been standing still as he tore through their ranks with ease.
He ducked a playful swipe from his little brother who had been supremely overjoyed at his return. He could see that the other wolves recognised his scent at least as belonging to their pack even if they couldn’t quite place it enough to identify. Normally, protocol would dictate that words be exchanged between the leader and this mystery wolf in human form, but seeing as it was a full moon that was impossible until dawn for no wolf could resist the pull of the full moon. Luckily enough the mystery wolf didn’t seem to be an enemy much to the relief of all the wolves present. They didn’t fancy a fight with the mystery wolf who had single handedly slain three-hundred vampires when the wolves while they had been having such a hard time breaking through the shield wall.
Atrayu returned the swipe to his brother and they quickly began to scuffle in the middle of the clearing. The watching wolves surrounding them looked on with amusement as they cleared space for the brothers. They found themselves with a great deal of free time on their paws now that the vampires had been taken care of so quickly. The scuffle picked up in intensity as through his actions Atrayu’s brother let him know exactly how he felt about his long absence.
Atrayu fully expected it and knew that this was only the tip of the iceberg as he had nine more brothers and sisters, a mother and father and a best friend who he had left behind. He hadn’t told anyone he was leaving and could imagine the backsplash generated from four years of worry. He had at least left a couple of notes explaining that he wasn’t dead or defecting , that he had left for training and that he planned to return, though he had neglected to say when he planned to return. He sighed as his brother renewed his attack intent on giving Atrayu a full account on his behalf of the grief and worry they’d had to endure as they wondered day after day if his sibling was going to return home safely if at all. His name was Mark and he was four years younger than Atrayu and had looked up to him prompting him to feel betrayed when he had learned of Atrayu’s disappearance and had taken it personally. If he was honest he was mostly upset with the fact that Atrayu had not offered to take him along with him and so fought all the harder, but to his increased annoyance Atrayu was obviously playing with him as he easily batted Mark away for the upteenth time.
The watching wolves were growing anxious as the previously playful wrestling had become fierce. They could see that their leader was giving it everything he had and could see that the mystery wolf was easily toying with him. The ones closest to the fight tensed to leap to their leader’s aid but stopped at a raised paw from the mystery wolf. They did not know why they obeyed this practical stranger but obey they did. The birds of prey had landed in the topmost boughs of the trees to watch the fight. Unlike the wolves and vampire’s fight on the ground there were quite a few left alive on both sides of the conflict. The allies of the vampires had returned to report the results to those that had to answer to.
The fight between the wolf brothers finally culminated in a split-second pin by Atrayu who had waited for his brother to lunge at him and in that instant Atrayu had leapt forward and under Mark’s outstretched paws to ram his head into Mark’s stomach. Having had the wind knocked out of him Mark landed hard on his side panting heavily while Atrayu placed his front paws on Mark’s neck and chest. Atrayu peered down at his brother and growled low in his throat. “Peace brother,” the growl said.
“You left me,” Mark whined in a reply that contained the raw emotions he was feeling as he glared at his brother the accusation burning bright in his eyes. He bucked rebelliously a few times trying to throw Atrayu off of him, before giving it up as Atrayu didn’t budge an inch. His body went limp in defeat as he panted on the wet forest floor. Not only had he been outclassed and outmatched but it had happened in front of his squad. He had only recently been made a general and this was supposed to be his first battle in his position. While he had fought his brother he had also wanted to show him how strong he had become, but it seemed Atrayu had left him far behind in more ways than just physically leaving him at home. His training had obviously been a huge success, in the past they had fought a lot and while Mark had never actually beaten Atrayu, he couldn’t recall when he had been toyed with by his elder brother. In fact his fighting prowess was unmatched among the other wolves of his age which had prompted the promotion to general.
The birds having no difficulties with the full moon had transformed into humans. There were about seventy-five naked men and women descending from the trees on their large wings as they had removed their own armor and clothes didn’t just magically change with a person. They began to move among the wolves helping them out of their armor and putting them in special packs designed to carry the large pieces of metal. Atrayu let his brother up so Mark’s armor could be removed as well. Mark leapt up immediately, startling the women who had approached to help. She smacked him on the nose unafraid of his retaliation as she set to work removing the armor. Atrayu gave a barking laugh,Mark glared resentfully at him over his shoulder before being smacked on the nose again prompting him to face forward and receive his treatment.
Once all the wolves were de-armored the men and women began to treat the injuries of the wolves and those for themselves. One tentative looking peregrine approached Atrayu cautiously holding out the medical supplies she was carrying. He lowered his head and allowed her to approach looking worriedly at the alcohol bottle he could see poking out of the pack. She ran her fingers through the fur along his length searching by feel for any injuries that weren’t visible. He yelped as she had applied alcohol to a small scratch on his flank. He tried to dance away but having practice in this situation the peregrine had snagged his ear to prevent him from escaping. She was well aware of how men overreacted to medical aid. She chuckled as she finished cleaning the small wound. When she finished cleaning the cut she let the ear go and stepped back as he spun his head to glare accusingly at her before sniffing the wound. She was surprised that this was his only wound especially considering the number of opponents he had taken out by himself.
She walked around to his head and told him in a no nonsense type of voice to open his mouth. Atrayu protested as he could feel the pain in his mouth and knew that whatever the woman planned to do to his mouth would hurt even worse. He relented as it looked the woman wasn’t going anywhere until he complied and he was anxious to get home. He glanced at his brother who was making it a point to show his back to Atrayu as he went through his own medical treatments. He sighed and opened his impressive jaws wide while lowering his head to the ground so the woman could get it over with. She poured some stinging liquid on all the cuts he had procured as the vampire’s armor had cut him as he bit them. She followed up with a different liquid that was at first soothing but it itched like mad as it stitched the torn skin back together.
When all was done and all the wolves had been treated for injuries, Mark turned to face his brother everyone else in the clearing. Atrayu blinked once before he understood what was going on. When he had bested his brother he had taken over as general. This was of course how politics worked in the wolf pack. Although this was not Atrayu’s intentions, all the same he took it all in stride as he smoothly swung in the direction of home and howled. The other wolves and the men and women echoed his howl and plunged forward towards the path they had taken to get there. Atrayu caught the eyes of two falcons bringing up the rear and signalled for them to follow him as he veered away from the path leading home as he had to retrieve his belongings from where he had left them. They followed him for a good minute as he retraced his steps. When they reached the trunk of the tree where he had left his things. they quickly shouldered the two large packs and followed him. They found it hard to keep up with Atrayu as he bounded down a path that would intersect with the rest of the wolves.
Atrayu found it extremely difficult to slow down enough for the falcons to keep up with him. He yearned to cut loose and leave them all in the dust. He considered helping them carry his stuff but figured delegating less desirable tasks was a perk to leadership. After deliberating the matter for the next few minutes he decided that the falcons knew their way home and so pushed forward quickly catching up to the tail end of the wolves. He ran a little harder to take point position in front of his brother. If Mark was surprised he didn’t show it as he continued to run steadily along with the rest of the wolves. The Avians flew overhead flapping just enough to keep the wolves in sight.
Atrayu and the wolves continued on in that way until the light of dawn was coming up over the horizon. The moon was still up but it was possible to shift back to human form. Atrayu took advantage of this immediately by shifting back to his human form. He ran back to the two falcons and retrieved his packs slinging them across his bare back and retook his place in front of the wolves. The falcons took wing immediately shifting from human to bird and flapped up to join their brethren. Mark was surprised that Atrayu could easily keep up with the pace that had been set. Atrayu even went so far as to increase the pace now that home was so close at hand. He felt giddy at the prospect of returning and was eager for the journey to be over. At long last the village came in sight and he brought the wolves to a halt right outside the village entrance.
He took a moment to take it all in. He was home again and words couldn't express how glad he was to be back. He figured he would receive greetings similar to what Mark had given him, he had no doubt from whom the most violent confrontations would come from. His father would probably be glad that he was home and ask him about why he had left, his mother on the other would pummel him into next week and skin him alive. Most of his siblings would react the same way as his father with exceptions from his older brother and sister. His best friend on the other hand would probably tag team with his mother. At that thought he frowned because now that he was home he was free to ponder the events that had reunited him with his brother. When he had left there was no war with the vampires, there had been a little rivalry sure, some minor scuffles and some tension to be sure but no hate. He would get some answers soon enough, however because he planned on talking to the chief directly.
While he had been thinking the rest of the wolves had become human like him. They stood in loose formation waiting for the signal to proceed. Mark glared resentfully back at Atrayu every chance he had. In his opinion Atrayu had a lot of making up to do for him before he would forgive him. He wasn't exactly mad anymore about losing his position as general to his older brother. It was just how politics in the pack worked. He did ,however, have every intention to reclaim his position. At this moment Atrayu raised his left hand signalling for the wolves to retrieve clothing from the outpost in front of the village. Modesty wasn't really an issue with the pack it was more customary and polite to wear clothes in public. Mark chose a flannel shirt and a faded pair of blue jeans while Atrayu simply chose a pair of loose fitting pants much in the same fashion as the Avians who preferred this method of dress in order to accommodate for their great wings which always protruded from their back.
Each race had certain physical aspects that always showed in their human forms. For example, wolves retained their ears, tail and sharp teeth. In the cases where interaction with humans was necessary these physical characteristics could be hidden with the right seals or potion or spell. Atrayu flicked his ears forward and the group surged forward heading to the command post to check in before they could rest. Atrayu felt no need to follow already having deduced the process of checking in and finding the task menial and boring. He knew very well that he was sending a clear message to the chief and knew exactly what he was doing. By not checking in he was basically telling the chief to fuck off. By not following the Alpha's orders he was breaking pack law. On the way home Atrayu had considered marching straight through the gates all the way to the Chief's front door in order to challenge him but figured that wasn't as humiliating as making the alpha come to him. Because you see the Alpha would have to come to him in order to punish him if he didn't he would lose the respect of the pack.
His feet found the path leading to his mother's house, automatically walking through the streets and alleys. The early morning people were still rising and a handful recognised him as he was still carrying the pack some called out to him and some didn't bother. All too soon he found himself right outside the front door. By human standards it was a mansion but given the size of the inhabitants among the more magical populations of the world large houses were common and expected. He stared at the door and the door stared back this went on for at least five minutes. He wasn't exactly afraid as he had already resigned himself to what may come it was more like he didn't feel like going through with it. With a sigh he gripped the knob and pushed the door open. No one bothered with locked doors because they were next to useless in stopping an attack. He Walked in and dropped the packs next to the door. It was still early and everyone was still asleep. He made his way to the kitchen and rummaged through the fridge until he found some leftover chicken enchiladas and popped it into the microwave. He grabbed a fork and ate fast he hadn't realized how much he had missed his mother's cooking. When he was finished he washed and dried his dishes and put them away in the cupboard and drawer and grabbed a quick glass of water as he made his way to the living room. It was still early and so he decided to grab a quick nap before all the dramatics started. He sat on the large couch directly in the center of the room, and laid down with his feet firmly on the ground and crashed.
He had no idea how long he slept but figured it hadn't been long. When he came to awareness he was aware that his head was cradled in someone's lap,and that someone was stroking his ear, the scent told him it was his mother. There was the smell of eggs and bacon on the air meaning that she had cooked breakfast. His head was facing toward the off television and he was content to lay where he was in order to avoid his mother's wrath but then his stomach gave a traitorous gurgle. He stiffened expecting the worst but surprisingly he only heard her laugh. He sat up slowly, the blanket that had been placed over him while he slept, slid to the floor. He stood up in front of her and bowed deep. This action carried a great deal more weight than it did for humans. He was exposing his neck a very vulnerable thing to do among wolves, well among anyone, but especially wolves. However civilized they may be they would always be wolves.
"Look at you, all grown up," Sasha said. She had opted to remained sitting. She was a tall, beautiful woman of 5'9 and had an athletic build as was the norm among wolf women. Her skin was a soft caramel color and she had kind almond shaped eyes and a mane of dark brown, waist-length hair. Among her children this seemed to be a dominant trait for with the exception of Mark they all had it. She was dressed simply in a forest green shirt and black pants but,if there was one person in the world that Atrayu was afraid of it was his mother. So thats why he was not surprised to find his right ear locked in his mother's steely grasp in the next instant.
" Ouch, Dammit Mom," Atrayu complained. Sasha ignored his protests and tightened her grip on his ear. He squirmed under her grasp it felt like his ear was about to be torn off. Sasha stood up slowly still holding her son's ear she had four years of pent up grief to give him and she was about to collect right now. She let go of his ear and he stood up only to receive a vicious slap to his left cheek. The force of the blow sent him reeling into the wall next to the television set. Sasha advanced on her son and rained blows upon him trying to hit every bit of him she could reach. She was becoming increasingly annoyed with him as it appeared he was blocking most of the blows and diverting others. She screamed at him all the while giving voice to her grief.
"How dare you," She howled punching out words in time with her fists. There was no trace of the kind eyed women her eyes held a menacing glint that pierced right through Atrayu. She landed another solid hit to the back of his head still shouting," You idiot, you could have called, you didn't write, we had no idea y-," Her words as well as her fists suddenly stopped. Atrayu glanced up cautiously to see that his father had come up behind his mother and clamped down on her shoulders.
Ganro roared in laughter and shook his smoothly hanging, chin length silver hair out of his face. He wasn't old his hair was actually silver a very rare color gene among wolves not to be confused with gray and Atrayu alone of all of his children had inherited it. He was a tall bearded man of 6'5 with dark twinkling eyes, and a straight nose. Ganro was dressed similarly to Sasha except that the sleeves were ripped off of his shirt to allow for his massive arms. Atrayu glanced around to see that all of the inhabitants of the house had assembled around the edges of the room with varying nods of approval and wonderment. They hadn't intervened because they knew that Ganro was the only one who could calm Sasha down once she went off into one of her rages.
Atrayu stood shakily ready to duck his mother's blows again should she get free from his father's restraining grip. Sasha was still glaring murderously at him and so he knew what he had to do. It was his trump card his ultimate move for dealing with his mother. He stepped forward and wrapped her in a hug. Thats usually all it took for Sasha. A hug from her family was magical that way. She stiffened at first and then sank into the hug wrapping her arms around him and burying her face in his silver mane breathing in his scent. Gradually the rest of the family joined in on the hug. There were tears from his sisters and and overly hard pats on the back from his brothers. In total there were eight of them in the house. Not to say that those were all of his siblings in total he had ten his mother had given birth to three litters in total , one with four pups and two with three. Atrayu belonged to the oldest litter which was the four pup litter. He had an older brother and an older sister making him the third eldest child.
Once all the drama had diffused Sasha ushered them all into the dining room where they all enjoyed a wonderful breakfast while peppering Atrayu with questions about his time away and wanting to know what he had done and where he'd been. He told them in between bites about his adventures. His sisters got excited when he told them that the two packs were full of gifts from the four missed birthdays. Atrayu himself got up to retrieve the packs and brought them over to his family he extracted a Nemean lion skin coat to hand to his father and a bow that he had made from the lion's ribcage to his mother. Atrayu had used Every bit ot the lion's body including a pair of daggers he'd made from the lion's top canines. He'd also made a few sets of throwing knives using the incisors binding the materials together using the lining of the lion's stomach. His family quibbled and fought over the rest of the other things in the packs. The only thing Atrayu kept for himself were the belt and gloves he had made from the lion's forepaws and tail. Killling a lion was an extreme accomplishment even among the wolves and being that he had done it alone rather than with a pack as wolves tended to hunt. it was indeed an impressive feat.
When the plates were empty Atrayu was sent to take a bath by his mother. His other siblings had things to do within the village and they left to do them. Atrayu sank into the hot water and sighed in contentment. They had a bathhouse with a natural hotsprings. He began to think about which move he should take next. He knew that the chief would be confronting him soon publicly no doubt in order to show his dominance. Atrayu had no idea whether to kill him or run him out of the village he was confident enough in his abilities to predict the outcome of the battle. When it came to dealing with wolves and pack society words held little weight, there was only strength the strength to follow through with your convictions. Words were way too fragile and if you weren't willing to fight for what you want you weren't taken seriously.
Aside from that he had to confront his best friend. She would have been just as angry at him as his mother if possible more so. He had long harbored a crush on her and he planned to confess to her as soon as he saw her. She was a few years older than he but age meant little in this world as sexual maturity was usually achieved around the age of twelve. It was another one of the shortcomings of the human world. Humans labored under the impression that they were the only sentient life and refused to acknowledge the possibility that they might not be alone.
He wondered how much more beautiful she had become in his absence and for the briefest moment worried if she had already found a mate but quickly dismissed the thought. She was too strong willed and most wolf males wouldn't bother with an alpha female. And his friend was definitely an alpha female he was probably her only friend as she was incredibly hard to approach and preferred to be left alone not to mention the fact that she wasn't a she-wolf and most preferred to mate with their own kind. He stayed in the bath for another hour or so before stepping out with a resigned sigh.
He dried off quickly and dressed in a borrowed pair of his brother's pants and put his belt on. He attached the claw gloves to hooks he had built in the belt on either side of the waist. He refrained from wearing a shirt and paused a moment to admire his reflection in the large bathroom mirror. He was twenty years old now and had recently grown to 6'3. He had shoulder length silver hair that grew into a mane surrounding his neck and face. The hair split around his shoulders meeting on both sides resting upon his upper back and the top of his chest. He had hazel colored eyes and full lips ,he'd inherited his father's nose. He had broad shoulders and a well sculpted physique his arms weren't as large as his father's but he was definitely no lightweight. He flexed at himself in the mirror before and bared his teeth in a grimacing leer before chuckling softly.
He walked barefooted out of the bathroom his hair still damp and gave his mom a quick hug and peck on the cheek before he stepped outside. He walked into town and towards his friend's house, feet moving on auto pilot once again as he focused on the scents. When he reached the house ,he didn't bother knocking for judging by the scent he could tell that she wasn't home. Instead he followed his nose following the faint flowery scent outside of town and to the lake that was nearby. He walked with certainty and confidence trusting his nose to lead him to where he wanted to go. He had decided unconsciously not to bother with the chief and had instead had gone in search of his friend. He found her right along the lakeshore with one hand outstretched as she manipulated the water. She was facing away from him but he had no doubt that she was aware of his presence. He didn't know how close she would allow him to get before she would turn around to face him. She had no way of knowing exactly who it was that was behind her and so he planned to use that element of surprise to get closer. After the incident with his mother he was not keen to repeat it.
He kept half an eye on the water which had taken the form of a large serpent now and was slowly rising out of the lake. When he was twenty feet away from her he leapt forward and grabbed her up in a hug, working on the assumption it would work on her as well as his mother. She stiffened in surprise and the water dragon lunged toward him he was unafraid however and actually laughed. He had never actually held her before as children they had hugged a few t and it was an extremely pleasant feeling. The wind changed direction and his hair was blown forward. There was a gasp of surprise as she caught a glimpse of the color and the water serpent lost its shape right above their heads drenching them both. He was still laughing as she turned around to face him still held in his arms.
He couldn't contain the happiness he felt at seeing her again it was like he had never left. His grin was wide and sincere as he watched her upturned face go through several emotions, first bewilderment, then anger then skepticism then back to anger and finally embarrassment as she realised that she was being held in his arms and that he was half naked. Atrayu braced himself expecting the barrage of water he knew was coming at him but it never came. She just stared up at him with large dark blue eyes. She had long blonde hair and was dressed in a black dress with a white underdress which displayed her very impressive cleavage with long brown boots with black stockings. To complete her ensemble she was wearing a black choker.
"I told you I'd come back for you, didn't I Tsukiumi," Atrayu said through his grin after it became apparent that Tskuimi had no plans to attack him. Tskiumi was a fairy the only one currently in the village. That wasn't to say that fairies or any other species could not be found in the village She'd been abandoned by her parents when she was very young and had been apart of the pack ever since Sasha had gone to investigate the "mysterious lake monster" that had taken to blasting any person fool enough to wander too close to the lakeshore with jets of water. It was lucky for Tsukiumi that she did because the chief had been organizing a hunting party to exterminate said monster. Sasha had taken her in and as a result Tsukiumi and Atrayu had grown up together. Aside from Sasha Atrayu was the only one Tsukiumi would allow into her guard. She only tolerated everyone else.
Which is why his leaving had hurt her so much. It had been as if he had abandoned her just just like her previous family. She had come to view him not only as a best friend but as they had grown older she'd begun to see him as partner,as the person she would spend her life with. It had gotten to the point where she was expecting a confession anyday. When all of a sudden he had disappeared she hadn't known exactly how to cope at first. Tsukiumi had cut herself off from the rest of the village including Sasha, It wasn't exactly as if she was famous for her friendliness so her reclusive reaction hadn't been noticed by any but Sasha and her family. The day proceeding his disappearance Tsukiumi had moved out of the house where she had grown up in not wanting to be reminded of The only thing he had left for her was a note that had been stuck under her pillow. the note had simply told her that he would return for her and nothing more. when she had first read the note it had filled her with confusion at first because at the time she hadn't known that he had left, but after that first day when she couldn't find him anywhere and had finally accepted that he was gone she had held onto the words like a lifeline. She had resolved to become stronger herself in order to have the strength to make him stay when he returned. But soon one week turned into a month, one month became two months , two months became a year and so on until four entire years had passed.
And now here he was holding her in his arms as if he had never left, she found it incredibly hard to feel all the anger and bitterness she had promised herself she would throw at him. All she felt was warmth as she gazed into his friendly hazel eyes the same eyes she had grown up with and all of a sudden it was all too much. Atrayu watched her lower lip tremble as she began to cry it came as a special surprise to him because he had never seen her cry not even when they were children. Anger he had been expecting but never in all his ponderings had he imagined that she would actually cry, and for him. He closed his eyes and began speaking, telling her everything he had gone through, the places he had gone to the people he'd met, the things he'd done, everything.
Without realizing it they had sunken to their knees on the ground. " I only left because of you," he was saying and quickly moved on before that statement could be misinterpreted." The way i was before i didn't feel i was strong enough to be your partner," Atrayu missed the small gasp Tsukiumi gave at that statement. " I was barely strong enough to be your best friend let alone your mate. You were so beautiful and el-" He never got to finish Tsukiumi had thrown her arms around his shoulders and kissed him.
Her lips crushed against his silencing him midword. She didn't care anymore that he had been gone for the past few years he had all but given the very confession she had been waiting for. Atrayu's brain instantly turned to mush everything leaving his head except the warmth he felt on his lips. His arms tightened pressing her more firmly into his chest as the kiss deepened. Her hands twisted in his hair pulling him more firmly into the embrace. His tongue brushed against her bottom lip seeking entrance, she obliged eagerly and their tongues met midway wrestling with each. His brain was consumed with the taste of her,the scent of her growing arousal permeating the air. Atrayu himself was sporting a raging boner,Tsukiumi could feel it poking into her lower belly as it formed a tent in his pants. This was another thing the he hadn't anticipated, he had been prepared to have to go through the long courtship that usually preceded these things. They fell over sideways becoming more and more entangled with one another, and gasping for breath.
All too soon they were forced to break apart. The wind had changed directions once again and brought with it the smell of five approaching people. Atrayu's reaction was pure instinct, he rolled into a defensive crouch and spread his arms wide and gave a vicious throaty growl. The snarls ripping out of his chest, his hair stood on end,his nose flashed as he tried to identify the unfamiliar smells, and he was baring his teeth. "Who's there," Tsukiumi called spotting the moving shadows coming ever closer . Despite the situation she was getting turned on by Atrayu's reaction.
A rough, surprised voice answered back as the five people finally stepped past the trees and they received a full look at the scene before them. "We only came for him you stay out of it." The voice said still surprised at the scene as well as by the display of agression from the silver-haired male who was their query. "General," the man said with a sneer,"Atrayu, is it? We haven't had teh pleasure of meeting but I assume you already know who I am and why it is that I am here." The man This whelp was asking for it if he didn't calm down he would be dealt with. There was a pregnant pause as the man waited for what was to him the expected result. He was second in command Butch Lavel. It was customary for those of lesser rank to bow. He was standing in front of the four people he had come with, they had spread out on either side of him and were half crouched in response to Atrayu's blatant aggression. Two men on the left side and two women on the right all of varying ages, all with bared teeth.
Butch and Tsukiumi alone seemed calm in the situation although inside Tsukiumi was seething in anger at the injustice of it all. Here she was with the man that she loved, the man that she hadn't seen for four fucking years, about to have her way with him and now this dumbass and his little squad of dumbassettes shows up to interrupt them. Was she being punished for some unknown crime she had committed, maybe Butch had been one of the people she had blasted when she'd been young and now he was coming back to punish her. Rationally she knew exactly why he had shown knew all about Atray's actions and knew what his intentions were but still couldn't they had shown up in say like an hour or better yet tomorrow. Yes tomorrow would have been so much- Tsukiumi was startled out of her thoughts as Atrayu had just given another loud snarl responding to Butch's taking another step forward, the step mirrored by the other four. The snarl sent another pleasurable shock shivering down her spine and sent a tingle through her awakened womanhood.
Atrayu was growing increasingly angrier, Who the fuck did this asshole think he was, interrupting him like this? Butch took yet another deliberate step forward, the action was clearly daring Atrayu to react. Another step forward and Butch began speaking again Atrayu wasn't listening he was too busy watching Butch's booted feet as they took step after step. There was a fallen branch about midway between them, it was the markoff point Atrayu had given Butch. Atrayu would not make any actions if Butch stayed on his side of that branch. Butch was still speaking and coming ever closer. When Butch was only a foot away from the branch. Atrayu spoke for the first time since Butch had arrived.
"Stay where you are," Atrayu said in a flat voice tense with anger.
"You are expected to follow me to the chie-" Butch stopped speaking mid sentence, for the first time he let the anger he was feeling show in his face and leak into his voice. "Excuse me," He snarled. Who the fuck did this Pup think he was? He was starting to become heartily sick of dealing with this whelp. He cracked his knuckles planning to drag this fool by his Silver colored hair into the mud into it changed colors, and then he'd take care of his bitch too. Butch took one large step clearing the branch completely.
The second Butch's boot hit the ground Atrayu went into action, clearing the distance in a single bound and driving a fist into the center of the man's gut. He was already moving before the other four could react he had delivered a vicious chop to the back of Bush's head, Butch sank into oblivion with O of astonishment still on his face. The four men and women sprang into action the two males launching perfectly synchronized kicks to the spot where Atrayu had been. He sidestepped the attack and landed two solid jabs to the man on the right felling him instantly, and continuing forward to fight the two women in the back. They immediately went on the offensive when they saw him coming and so were taken completely by surprise when he vanished from their sight. He suddenly appeared appeared directly in front of them they were too slow to block the flurry of blows he threw at them and they too slumped unconsciously to the ground. The second male turned and faced Atrayu as he walked calmly forward his eyes ablaze. Even though the man tensed for it, he was still surprised when he found himself folded around Atrayu's upward driving fist. The air left his body and he too passed out.
Tsukiumi sat where she was stunned at the act of violence. It wasn't the act itself that surprised her but the speed and skill displayed by Atrayu that had caught her off guard. The whole fight had lasted for only a minute. Even by their nonhuman standards that had been uncommonly fast. She stared at him in awe taking in his rippling muscles and the sheen of sweat that coated his skin, the hard tilt his jaw and the fierce half smile that played around the corners of his mouth. He was gorgeous and he wanted her. She was at a loss for words as she watched him walk toward her the last of the opponents dealt with. He wasn't even breathing hard. She had no idea how to express her emotions having had no prior experience in this particular field. He walked up and gave her a sweet smile as if he had done nothing more than kill a mosquito. She decided on blunt honesty she felt her face burning as she looked away from him as she said," I'm so hot for you right now"Atrayu wanted nothing more than to indulge in the powerful female scent he could detect coming off of her in waves, but with a sigh he decided against it.
There was one more thing he had to take care of and the sooner he handled it the sooner he could take care of his more wanton desires. He pulled her into a standing position and tilted her chin back and pressed his lips softly to hers. When he pulled back they just stared into each other's eyes. They knew what Atrayu had to do now and knew that it was the only thing standing in their way now. Her hand found his and together they turned in the direction of the village and began the walk home.
Author's Note:
This is the first full chapter of Wolfblood. The first order of business is to make a distinction that felt should best be placed here. I specifically use the term wolf these aren't werewolves they're just wolves with a little extra. Moving on I want to clarify for those that may be wondering that is indeed Tsukiumi the sekirei. As the story progresseds you will find more and more anime characters that you recognize. Originally this was going to be a completely original story full of completely original characters but then I realized that this was a fanfiction and changed my mind. With that being said I would like to repeat that you will see familiar characters in this story but I will tweak them to fit the parameters of the story so don't please have patience with it.
The last thing is to read and review. Leave a comment about anything things you would like to see things you didn't see enough of, Characters you would like to see That sort of thing. If all goes well i should have the next chapter cranked out in two weeks although don't quote me on that.
Well until next time Sayonara
