Actually ice is not good for burns a burn is caused by a sudden change in temperature you can be burned by something very cold the same as something very hot infact to relieve the pain of a burn nothing works better then to be submerged in water the same temperature as your body im a cook I shuld know ice only makes things worse in the long runAuthor's response

My friend the RN who told me to use ice for burns is in for SO much teasing. Of course that was twenty years ago. Maybe today's ice is not as medicinally effective as the ice of yesteryear. Or maybe she was talking about pharmaceutical-grade ice.
So let this be a lesson for you, kiddies: When fighting evil Dark Lords, always pack some aloe!
