I know this was written a long time ago, but Sonja was blonde.
Maybe I could see Sarah being cool with a female role that only allows her to take care of children -- maybe -- but I don't see a modern girl of any stripe feeling that way. Only very rarely in human history have women ever been _completely_ relegated to the home. In Shakespeare's England, women could run their own businesses. In Song China, they could own property and sponsor artists... Upper-class Japanese women during the Heian and Sengoku periods were very domestic, but lower-class women worked side-by-side with their husbands in many aspects of life.
In the movie, we see how Lucian loves elegance and good manners. I wonder how he'll react to your earthy Marie.
