[john laurens x alexander hamilton, number 5, "Wait a minute. Are you jealous?"]
{this one-shot is based in the present; April 2018.}
Alexander was furiously typing away at his laptop, someone on the internet was wrong and needed to be corrected. He was so focused on the argument he was having with http.siigh that he didn't hear the door to the apartment open and close, and several bags were lumped onto the table, and someone was standing in the middle of the front room, sitting on the couch and switching on the television.
Alex took his vision away from his laptop for one second to see who was sitting on the sofa, although it could only be one person. He smiled a little at his roommate, and turned back to his screen.
John Laurens was sitting on the sofa, watching his own screen as he saw Alex look at him, before looking back. He stared at Alex and smiled a little bit, looking down, before re-focusing his attention. "So..." Alex said to John, still typing, not even looking up. "Where've you been?" He asked. "What you been doing?" John then looked at Alex. "I went to the store to do the weekly shop, and I just ran into some people, but I got the things we needed before next week." He replied. Alex quietly hummed under his breath. "Oh, really? What people?" Alex asked, curiously, in a tone that John couldn't quite identify. John sighed as he heaved himself up from the couch and walked over to the cupboard, grabbing all of the items out of the bag and packing them up. "Oh, um, I saw Lafayette and Hercules, and..." He turned away from Alex as he shoved the food in the cupboard. "I actually ran into Jefferson."
Alexander froze and turned to John. "Are you kidding me? Thomas Jefferson?" Alex overreacted. "Yeah." John simply replied. "Well, what did he say?" He asked, obviously aggravated by the encounter he had just been told about. John twirled around and walked towards Alexander. "Erm, uh..." He stuttered. "He, kind of... Well, when I was getting my cart, he went to get one and looked down at me, smirking, like he does when he wins a debate. Like a look of smugness?" He replied. "And when I went to pay, he was behind me, and when we got out the shop, I leant against the wall to check I had everything, he kind of... Pushed me into the wall and looked down at me, and smirked and I really think he was trying to flirt with me, but I snuck off before he could make a move." He sat next to Alex on the couch, shuddering at the thought. Without a beat, Alex stood up and stared at his best friend.
"How dare he do this?" Alex was in uproar. John tried to calm him, but it was no use. "How dare he try and flirt with you as if he has the right of being with you? This is ridiculous! I have to show him who he is dealing with!" Alex went to put on his coat. "Alex, wait!" He shouted at him, and Alex froze. Had John really just asked him to wait? "It's not that big of a deal." He told him as Alex retreated a little. "It's not like I'm dating anyone, he had no reason not to!" He reasoned.
Can't I be 'anyone'? Alex thought to himself and looked at John in the eyes. "But John... How dare he think that he can do that without your permission? How can he think that he deserves you?" He walked closer to John, and John pushed a scraggly piece of hair behind his ear. "If anyone gets to push you against a wall and flirt with you, it should be..." He stopped himself. God, what are you doing, Hamilton? Look what happens when you get carried away. "Someone that you love dearly. Not that fucking idiot." He told John. Looks like he saved himself from that one. Alex blushed, begging to himself that one day he would be someone that John loves dearly.
Suddenly, something clicked in John's brain. Was Alex... No, it couldn't be. Could it possibly be that Alexander Hamilton, the Alexander Hamilton, was jealous? John took a step towards his best friend in the world. The person he loved most in the world. "Wait a minute." A smirk crept onto his face. "Are you jealous?"
Shit. How could John know? How had he ever found out? Wait, wait. Did he know? God, this could be bad. "N-No." He replied, looking down, his face flushing crimson.
John softly pushed Alex against the wall. "So, you're jealous are you? Alexander." Hearing John say his full name made Alex shudder. Oh, the grip John had on his was unbelivebael. How had he managed to do this to him. "M-Maybe." He replied.
John leant in to carefully nip at Alex's lip. "Maybe Jefferson should flirt with me more often." He smirked and leant in for another kiss.
"I highly disagree, Jack."
