Chapter Twenty-Five: Fox Devil Women:

-Mother-

I do not like to share. I really do not like thieves. Muraki is the worst. For years, he stalked my husband. My idiot never stood up to him. As long as Muraki's around, it won't end. I have so much I want to do to him. Looking at him made me sick.

"Stop smirking like that," I said. "It's creepy."

"I'm curious about something," he said.

"What?" I asked.

"How long do you think your marriage will last?"

"What do you mean?"

That bastard chuckled. "Marriages to kitsune don't have happy endings."

"So?" I narrowed my eyes. That smirk made me want to smack him.

"How long have you and Tsuzuki-san been married?" he asked.

"Why?" I asked.

"Humor me here,"

"One year."

"Wow."

"But you already knew that didn't you?"

"Yes."

"What are you getting at?"

"Is he really happy?"

"Yes"

"How do you know this?"

"I see what you are trying to do. It won't work."

"Just answer my question. I'm not trying to pull anything."

Sure… I sighed. "I see it in his eyes. He loves us both equally. She loves him with all of her heart. I have grown to love him too."

Muraki didn't look so convinced. He didn't have to say it. I folded my arms across my chest.

"I do not have to prove myself to you," I said.

"So why have you not killed me yet?" he asked. I cleared my throat.

"My game has started," I said.

"And what does that mean?" Muraki asked. I smirked and held up my knife.

"You won't die so easily," I said. "So I will keep killing you until you stay dead!" That bastard started laughing.

"Is that all you have?" he asked.

"I am going to try," I said. I took a swing. As expected, he vanished before my eyes. I lowered the knife.

"Just as I thought," I said. Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy a good hunt. It's in my nature after all. I am kitsune. We are proud predators. But if I have to look at his face one more time, I might snap. I looked up at the darkness.

"Found him yet?" I asked.

"No," Anna said. I threw back my head and groaned.

"Damn it," I said. "How long will this go on?"

"I could try something out," she said. "It might drain us faster, but…"

"Do it," I said.

"Understood," Anna said. "Good luck on your end." I laughed.

"Foolish girl," I said. "I don't need luck. I just need to kick his ass."

"I have one more thing to ask of you," she said.

"What?" I asked.

"Can I be the one to deliver the final blow?" Anna asked.

"Heh," I said. I jumped up into the air and vanished.

Three hours, ten minutes, and fifty-one seconds until the hunt ends.
