I'll wear my pride flag shirt to church
Then pull on a sweater when my stomach lurches
At the thought of all the stares
And their silent prayers
And if no one ever says a word
Then my defenses go unheard
And if it continues on unsaid
The war will go on inside my head
Inwardly I cling to the image I want to maintain:
"I don't care what they think. I am not ashamed."
Then pull on a sweater when my stomach lurches
At the thought of all the stares
And their silent prayers
And if no one ever says a word
Then my defenses go unheard
And if it continues on unsaid
The war will go on inside my head
Inwardly I cling to the image I want to maintain:
"I don't care what they think. I am not ashamed."
