Whistling a simple melody, Rahu walked along the road. He was wearing a dark green winter suit for fishing, massive boots and the same black cap. He spotted it in the garage and decided to pick it up, believing that it would suit him better. He also borrowed clothes from a psychopath. Fortunately, his own backpack was found in the garage, the things in it were untouched.

"Just a small price to pay for the fact that you, a pig, were going to eat me."

So he reasoned, taking a couple more trinkets. The garage, as it turned out, was located on the territory of the house that belonged to the cannibal. He lived near the lake, the site is surrounded by forest. The place is so secluded that even if Rahu, being an ordinary victim, called for help, no one would hear him. At first he tried to enter the house, but then he decided that he should not leave unnecessary traces. Now he was worried about problems of a different kind.

The cold tingled pleasantly on the skin, and rare snowflakes created a feeling of magic. Rahu thought that now he perceives natural beauty differently, because even yesterday he could not realize all its value. Now he reveled in every moment that the quiet winter night gave him.

For years he prayed for the sun, drowning in crimson water, smashed his head against the walls of his dungeon, which served as an eternal sarcophagus, screamed, screamed, choking in madness, realizing that he would never be saved, because he could not die. The water absorbed his tears, washed them away, and he did not remember ever stopping crying at least once in all the time. After a while, he realized that the water was not scarlet in the beginning. Bloody crying colored her. At times he slept, but the dreams did not bring peace, in them he saw the past, which he did not want to remember. It was even more of a nightmare.

Rahu shuddered and shook his head, driving away unnecessary thoughts, the last thing he wanted to think about was the events of the past. He will certainly comprehend everything, but not now, just not at the moment when the bright moon is shining and he can look at it as much as he wants.

He extended his hand, shielding the white ball, as if to embrace it, and laughed. Joy filled his whole being, and he wanted to shout, to share his triumph with the whole world. I wanted to warm snowballs in my hands, I wanted to touch every twig, every frozen leaf, breathe the icy air and enjoy it, as if there was nothing tastier in the world. Freedom was the greatest good for him, previously unattainable. Tears prickled in her eyes.

"Mom, even if you are not around, but know that I was able to escape, I won! Everyone who mocked us is dead. The past is so far away! Time scattered the ashes of the tormentors and erased the memory of their deeds. They wanted glory, but now their names are dust. I swear, if I happen to find out that one of the creatures is still living a serene old age, I will find everyone and make them survive everything that they have done to you".

Rahu repeated these words like a mantra dozens of times, word for word. He was eager to get to the city as soon as possible and visit the apartment in which he lived as Milos. After half an hour, the forest began to thin out and a narrow road led him to the highway. It was not easy to stop a passing car, perhaps, Rahu toiled in anticipation for about half an hour, the time was later, judging by the screen of the mobile phone, it was approaching the third hour of the night. Finally, the driver of another truck took pity and braked with a screech, blinding Rahu with the headlights.

- Did something happen? – seasoned trucker looked at him with surprise.

- I was visiting a friend, - Rahu feigned sadness, - only a girl suddenly came to him, they began to sort things out ...

The driver grunted.

- Ha ha! No problem! get in.

Rahu perched on the passenger seat.

- Give me a lift to the city? I'll be there myself, I'll pay as much as you want.

The man just waved his hand and pulled the gearshift lever.

- Throw change on cigarettes.

- Agree!

The truck roared and rushed forward, cutting through the darkness of the night road. The cabin smelled of cigarette smoke, stupid music played. Rahu leaned his forehead against the side glass and watched the trunks of fir trees flicker, merging into one black stripe.

The driver was not talkative and it only pleased. Rahu could not find the strength for a monologue that could brighten up the silence. A whirlwind of various thoughts swirled in his head, and he could not find the most important among them. It was still a long time to figure out what was happening in his life, and who he was now.

"How many times have I been killed? I don't remember, I can't count. I don't know how many years I live, and how long all this will last. Maybe I'm just sleeping? No, that would be too painful."

Rahu really dozed off and his sleep was peaceful. He seems to have been asleep for about an hour. The man pushed him at the gas station, saying that here their paths would diverge. After shaking his hand and slipping a ten euro note, Rahu got out of the car.

Looking around, he realized that he was already in the city, although the street was unfamiliar. He could call a taxi, but walking was much more tempting. He did not feel the cold, although the frost was severe, probably below fifteen degrees. Rahu did not risk getting frostbite, and fatigue was too abstract a concept and it happened to him only at very high loads, for a simple person, fatal. He was tired emotionally. Now he just walked, walked for a long time, without slowing down, without stopping his breath.

How beautiful this city is! - unable to contain his delight, he examined the usual panel buildings, colorless and identical at night. The advertising signs along the road beckoned the eye, and he wanted to see each one. Smiling girls with shiny hair, fluffy kittens, stationery and ... a huge bar of chocolate. Rahu stopped.

His gaze lingered on the shop window, where behind the glass stood an abundance of sweets. White, like an airy cake, decorated with coconut flakes in the center of the composition, framed by rows of eclairs and fruit baskets. He swallowed and stepped closer, almost touching the transparent barrier with his lips. Rahu pressed his face against the window, he was trembling violently.

"Please," he whispered, "I wanted to try, I wanted to. And they deceived me".

He clenched his fists. Shaking his head, he continued on his way.
