The Backroom Incident
0 reviewsSonia drags her brothers and their girlfriends, as well as Knuckles, on a shopping trip to the creepiest store in the universe.

On a quiet afternoon in Mobotropolis, Sonia and Jade drug Sonic and Sally, Manic, and Knuckles around on another one of Sonia's shopping trips as well as a trip to find Jade a dress for her and Manic's wedding.
"I can't believe you bought a black wedding dress." Sonia said, glancing back at Jade.
"I can." Sonic muttered. "They both look like they model for Hot Topic or cosplaying as that emo band they're hung up on."
Manic rolled his eyes. "Oh, at least I'm dressing up for my wedding."
Sally elbowed Sonic.
Sonic huffed. "You told me you didn't mind if I didn't dress up."
"I didn't, but don't take shots at your brother." Sally said.
Knuckles pulled the van into the parking lot in front of a rundown store in the middle of nowhere called Treasure Warehouse. "Here?" He asked. "In this sleazy place?"
Sonia shrugged. "I heard there's great deals on antiques."
"Let's get this over with." Sonic said, unbuckling his seatbelt.
The group got out of the van and headed inside.
There were lights on, but the place still looked dark and nearly abandoned except for a few stray employees who didn't seem the least bit interested in their job.
"This place is super creepy." Manic said.
Jade nodded.
"What antiques?" Sonic asked. "All I see is like garage sale junk."
"Maybe we should split up." Sonia said, glancing around the large store.
"Oh, heck no." Manic protested. "This already feels like a flipping horror movie."
Sonic raised an eyebrow, then smirked. "You scared, bro?"
"Dude, this is like real life backroom stuff." Manic said.
"I agree with Manic." Knuckles said.
"Yes, it's creepy, but you're all being silly." Sonia replied. "Knux, you come with me. Sally, you go with Sonic -"
"Just say couples go together." Manic muttered. He kicked the floor.
"Fine." Sonia replied.
Manic grabbed Jade's hand and led her to their right. "Let's look at the comics and DVDs."
Sonic shrugged. "I guess we'll look at the-"
"Books." Sally said, dragging Sonic to the book section.
"Books." Sonic mumbled.
Sonia dragged Knuckles to the jewelry case. "Come on, there's jewelry."

Manic smirked and chuckled to himself as he and Jade rifled through a stack of comics.
"What is so funny?" Jade asked.
"Let your spines down and drop 'em over your face." Manic replied.
Jade pulled the scarf out of her spines and moved them over her face. "Not this prank."
"It's a perfect opportunity, babe." Manic said, scrolling through his phone.
"What're you doing?" Jade asked.
"Finding the outro to 'Good to be alive'." Manic replied. "I have my portable speaker. It'll be awesome."
He grinned and got the speaker out of his backpack. "I got it." He said excitedly. "Let's find Sonic."

Sonia and Knuckles caught up to Sonic and Sally.
"Are we ready to go?" Sonic asked. "My skin is crawling from just being in here."
"As soon as we find Manic and Jade." Sonia said.
Eerie music started playing.
Sonia and Sonic raised their spines.
"Despair, you come to me with your poison and your misery." A creepy girl's voice sang.
Sonic looked around and flinched back, pushing Sally and Sonia behind him and Knuckles.
Sonia smacked Sonic lightly on his arm. "What is-"
A creepy looking girl in dark clothes with her hair in front of her face stood in the middle of a section about eight feet away from them.
Knuckles squinted. "That's Jade, you baby." He said, elbowing Sonic sharply in his ribs.
Sonic, Sonia, and Sally sighed in relief.
Manic walked around a shelf and led Jade over to them. Both hedgehogs were laughing.
"Very funny." Sonic said.
"It was." Manic replied. "Sorry, I had to do that for my bucket list."
Sonic rolled his eyes. "I'm going to the bathroom." He said, marching toward the bathroom. "Then we're leaving."
The rest of the group followed Sonic and waited by the door.
Manic walked over to a sign. "If you're reading this, you're blissfully unaware of the danger behind you."
Sally shuddered.
Manic raised his spines and hurried back to Jade.
"Okay, this is super creepy." Sally said.
Manic held Jade's hand as he paced back and forth, making Jade pace with him. "What is he doing in there?"
Sonia looked at Manic as if he was crazy. "One of two things," She said. "Or both."
Manic groaned. "What if there's no way out." He said. "What if we're stuck here like in that old TV show?"
Jade furrowed her brow. "Twilight Zone?"
Manic snapped his fingers. "Yes. That."
"Oh, yeah, we totally need to get out of here before we turn into mannequins." Sonia said sarcastically.
Manic huffed. "I'm not crazy enough to believe that." He said. "I am saying that this could end with us being dead and stuffed in oil barrels under this infernal dump."
"I'm guessing your vocabulary has rubbed off on him." Sonia whispered to Jade.
Sonic finally raced out of the bathroom. "Let's go, let's go!" He said, picking up Sally. He raced out.
The others quickly followed Sonic out of the door.
"I hate to ask how bad the bathrooms were." Sally said.
"The stalls were filthy." Sonic said, wide-eyed. "The urinals were broken. The toilets wouldn't flush. The sinks wouldn't run. It… it was horrifying. It smelled like the time Manic threw a cherry bomb in the sewer."
Manic gagged.
"I am afraid to ask." Sonia replied.
Jade shook her head. "You're lucky you're so cute and sweet, Manic."
Sally hugged Sonic.
"I'm sorry about that." Sonia said. "I heard the store was really good."
"From who?" Manic questioned. "The Munsters, Invader Zim, or the Addams family?"
Sonia sighed. "The Internet," She said. "I owe you all dinner."
"The sushi place?" Manic asked.
"The chili dog shop?" Sonic asked.
"The buffet place." Sonia replied. "That's the only way to make everyone happy."
"Fine." Sonic and Manic mumbled.

I was compared to the girl in the ring. that sign by the bathroom was a real sign and so was the song Manic mentioned, which is by Skillet.
