Sonic and Manic stretched out on the couch near the dressing room of Sonia’s favorite “bargain” store, Kohl's. They put their feet on the top of the couch and hung their upper bodies off the couch.
“So if they updated the Divine Comedy, which circle of Hell would shopping with Sonia be in?” Manic asked.
“I don't know. I never read or watched that.” Sonic replied. “For someone who claims not to be goth, you sure like some dark stuff.”
Manic huffed. “I never read it, except the Wikipedia summary because I heard of it in a movie or something.”
Sonia walked out of the dressing room with a bunch of dresses folded over her arm. "Sit up; you're not at home."
"We've been here for hours." Manic said, moving to sit upright. “We're bored.”
"You won't let us go to another store or anything." Sonic added.
“Do you seriously want to go to a party supply store?” Sonia asked.
Sonic nodded. “Yes.”
Manic listened for a second. "Hey, that song's pretty catchy." He said, bobbing his head.
"Stop that, Manic. It's embarrassing" Sonia scolded. She hung up the dresses on her arm on the rack and picked up another armload of dresses off of the couch. "Let me try these dresses on, then we'll leave."
Sonic got up and helped Manic up as Sonia went back into the dressing room. Both brothers started dancing to the music.
"Keep an eye out for her." Sonic said. "I don't want to hear her complain anymore."
They danced for a few minutes until Manic saw a door open.
Manic stopped dancing. "Sonia."
Sonic stopped dancing as well.
Manic leaned against the wall and pulled Sonic over to stand beside him. Both of them put on their fake innocent faces.
Sonia came out. "Alright, I'll buy these and we'll go to the sushi place."
"Sushi?" Sonic asked. "You get to pick? You owe us chili dogs."
Manic rubbed the back of his neck. "Uh, I want sushi too, bro." He replied. "I could go for some green tea mochi."
Sonic sighed. "Fine. I guess spicy shrimp rolls sound good."

“I can't believe it took you three hours in one store.” Sonic said, picking up a piece of mochi.“Manic and I could go to more places than you did in the same amount of time.”
“Oh, yeah?” Sonia asked. “I’ve seen you two lose four hours on that stupid Castle Conquest game.”
“That was different.” Manic replied. “We needed that for flight simulation training.”
Sonic slid his empty plate aside. “We'll prove we can get more done in the same amount of time it took you in that one store.”
“Alright.” Sonia replied. “Let's go out again next week. If you're right, you pick the movie for movie night. If I'm right, I'll pick the movie.”
“Deal.” Sonic and Manic said.
Manic tried to ease the tip money off of a nearby table. “So which one of us picks?”
“Sonic.” Sonia replied. “I don't want to see another Terminator movie again.”
Manic huffed. “Sonic will just pick Speed again.”
Sonic shook his head. “I was gonna pick a Transporter movie.” He said. “Oh, and I saw that Manic. Put it back.”
Manic took the money out of his pocket and put it back on the table.
“Take him outside, Sonic.” Sonia said, opening her purse. “I'll meet you two at the van.”
Sonic grabbed Manic by his arm and walked him out. “We can't take you anywhere, can we, bro?”
Manic rolled his eyes.
