Manic, Sonic, and Sonia wandered around downtown Robotropolis.
“So where is this club at?” Sonic asked.
“It shouldn’t be far from here.” Manic replied. He stopped in front of a sidewalk display of a new set of drums. “Whoa….”
“There’s the club entrance.” Sonia said, pointing to a stairwell hidden in an alcove.
Sonic turned to look at Manic. “We found it- what are you doing?”
Manic had a cymbal in his hand. “What? It was calling my name.”
Sonic and Sonia walked over to Manic.
Sonic crossed his arms. “Put that-”
A trapdoor directly under their feet opened.
The triplets screamed as they fell through the trap. They landed in the dimly lit basement of one of the buildings.
Swatbots raised their blasters.
Sonic looked around. “Sonia? Manic?”
“Boys?” Sonia called, her voice echoed through the tunnel.
“Sonic?” Manic called, his voice sounding more distant than Sonia’s.
Sonic spin dashed the Swatbots and ran down one of the three tunnels. “Great. They probably ran down the other tunnels.”

Sonia finally reached a well lit place in the tunnel.
“Sonia.” A female voice called.
Sonia skidded to a stop. “Mother?”
Aleena stepped out of the shadows.
Sonia rushed over to Aleena and hugged her.
“I’ve missed you, Sonia.” Aleena said.
Sonia let Aleena go. “I missed you too.” She replied. She turned around. “Sonic! Manic!”
Aleena touched her shoulder. “Don’t call them, Sonia.”
Sonia turned around, her jaw dropped. “What?”
“They’re plotting to betray you, Sonia.” Aleena said. She showed Sonia a hologram, showing her brothers plotting against her.
Sonia sighed. “I really thought we were starting to get along.”
“I’m very sorry, Sonia.” Aleena said.
Sonia rubbed her arms. “I guess it makes sense.” She mumbled. “They get along so well. I kinda felt like I was the odd one out.”
Aleena nodded. “I have to go, Sonia.” She said, “We’ll meet again soon, sweetheart. Go back to your brothers, we need to bring them in for treason. Meet me in the office of the Cavern Club after the concert.”
“Okay, Mother.” Sonia said. She hugged Aleena again and left.

Sonic caught up with Manic at their van. “What were you thinking?!”
Manic held his hands up defensively. “How was I supposed to know it was a trap?”
Sonic crossed his arms. “You don’t need a new drum set.” He yelled. “I’ve told you a thousand times not to steal. Do you want to be in prison again?”
“No, but I do need new drums.” Manic said. “We should have extra instruments to keep from using our medallions so they’re fully charged in a battle.”
Sonic sighed. “Okay, but- where’s Sonia?”
“Here I am.” Sonia said, walking over to them.
Sonic and Manic breathed a sigh of relief.
“I was about to start worrying.” Sonic said.
Sonia scoffed. “I’ll bet you are.”
Sonic raised an eyebrow.
“I’m sorry we got split up.” Manic said. “I could barely see where I was going and I could’ve sworn you were near me.”
“I’m sorry too, sis.” Sonic said. “I was going to go look for you.”
“Whatever.” Sonia muttered.
Sonic and Manic exchanged glances, then shrugged. They followed her into the van.
