Sonic defeated the Swatbots and looked around. “What is wrong with them?” He asked. “They act like I sold out to Robotnik.”
Sonic’s communicator chimed.
Sonic pressed the button. “Hey, Cyrus, what’s up?”
“Just got word that your mom wants to meet you in the fifth cavern, between the club and the palace.” Cyrus said.
“I’m on my way.” Sonic replied. “Thanks, Cyrus.”

Sonic made it to the cavern.
Sonia and Manic arrived.
“Where were you two?” Sonic asked.
“My children.” Aleena said.
The triplets turned and saw Aleena standing behind an iron gate. They ran over to her.
Suddenly an iron gate dropped behind them.
The triplets jumped and looked at the gate.
The hologram disappeared, revealing… Sleet.
“Wow, you’re getting better at setting traps.” Sonic said.
“You three idiots will believe anything your foolish mother tells you.” Sleet said.
The siblings glared at Sleet.
“I guess you believed that phony prophecy too.” Sleet said.
Manic sighed. “I had a feeling this would happen.”
“Raised in a sewer, died in a sewer.” Sleet said. “Perfect end for a sewer rat.”
Suddenly, the area started to fill with water.
The water had reached their knees and continued to rise.
Manic hugged his siblings. “I’m sorry.” He cried. “I’m sorry, I love you two.”
Sonia hugged Manic and Sonic tightly. “Love you guys too. I’m sorry.”
“Love you two, now let me go so I can try to get us out of here.” Sonic said.
The triplets tried to activate
Sonia groaned. “Our medallions are drained.”
“Manic, pick the locks.” Sonic asked.
“There’s no locks.” Manic replied.
A loud metallic groaning echoed through the caverns.
The water stopped rising and began to sink.
The triplets breathed a sigh of relief.
The gates opened.
“Who set us free?” Manic asked.
“My children.” Aleena said, running over to the kids. “It’s really me. I’m so sorry this happened.”
“Is it really you?” Manic questioned. “What’s my middle name?”
“Oh, my goodness, he’s finally gonna tell us his middle name.” Sonia said, grinning.
“Edsel.” Aleena replied.
Manic grimaced. “Yeah, you’re our ma.”
Sonic and Sonia burst out laughing.
“Edsel?” Sonic asked.
“Don’t laugh or I’ll tell them your middle name.” Aleena said.
Sonic stopped laughing, then cleared his throat. “So are we gonna defeat Ro-butt-nik now?”
“About that.” Aleena said. “There’s another part of the prophecy.”
“What would that be?” Sonia asked.
