Sonic and Manic’s four year old son Glitch ran around the back yard
Manic laughed. “Alright, little guy, it’s nap time.” He said. “You can play with Uncle Sonic later.”
Sonic stopped running and turned to face Glitch. “Okay, you heard your dad. It’s nap time.”
Glitch.
Sonic ruffled Glitch’s spines. “I know, but you need it.”
Glitch ran into the house.
Sonic walked over to Manic and sat down. “I know, but I wanted to see him for a few extra minutes since you all were sick on our family vacation.”
“It’s fine.” Manic replied. “I gave you a few extra minutes. I’m glad he got the chance to meet you.”
Sonic patted Manic on the back. “Same here.”
Manic laid his arm on his knees. “The porcupines settled the lawsuit.”
Sonic looked at Manic. “You sued them too?”
Manic nodded. “Out of principle.” He said. “That and we could use a little extra money for Glitch.”
“How much did you get?” Sonic asked.
“About five grand.” Manic replied. “After legal fees, we plan on giving you, Sonia, and Ma some money.”
“You don’t have to give us money.” Sonic said.
“I know, but we thought you all deserve a part in it.” Manic replied.
“Well, thanks, bro.” Sonic said. “So are they still in prison?”
“They have another ten years.” Manic replied. “Doesn’t seem like enough for driving you all crazy with worry and robbing us all of our time together.”
“Maybe we should try to get the law changed.” Sonic said.
Manic laid his arms on his knees.
Sonic patted Manic on his back. “Hey, at least we got to see each other again.” He said. “It could’ve been a lot worse.”
“You’re right.” Manic replied.
Sally stepped outside. “Can you two help with dinner?”
Sonic and Manic got up and followed her inside.
