Sonic Underground finished their first major concert to thunderous applause and cheers.
Sonic led his siblings backstage where their family were waiting for them.
Aleena hugged her children. “I’m so proud of you.”
“Thanks, Mom.” Sonic said.
“Uh… Ma?” Manic asked. “You’re crushing my back spines.”
Aleena let go of the triplets. “I’m sorry.” She replied. “So… how long will you three be gone?”
“Three months.” Sonic said. “It’ll go by fast. We’ll video call.”
After another round of goodbyes, Sonic, Sonia, and Manic (along with their families) left to begin their world tour.

Sonic, Sonia, and Manic got up while everyone else was asleep in the van and sat on the ground.
Manic laid his arms on his knees. “Did Ma and Dad ask either of you if they could babysit your kids while we’re on tour?”
“Yeah, but mine answered ‘no’ before Sal and I could.” Sonic replied. “Good thing my kids love adventures so much. It saved us from an awkward conversation.”
Sonia shook her head. “Shadow told them why in the most brutally honest and threatening way I’ve ever heard,” She said. “And I thought I would have to bail him out of jail when some guy started harassing me at the mall once, so you can imagine how that went.”
“Surge was about to do the same until I stepped in.” Manic replied. “They’ve done a lot to make amends, but I still don’t trust them to watch Glitch. We haven’t stayed with them for an extended period of time since before we were sent to live with Aunt Rachel and Uncle Chuck. I still love them, but I don’t know if I’ll ever trust them with my kid.”
Sonic and Sonia nodded.
“I don’t know how to explain any of it to Maria.” Sonia said, brushing her bangs back. “She’s asking why she can’t go anywhere with them without me or Shadow.”
Manic shrugged. “We just told Glitch the truth.”
“No wonder he hides behind you when they’re around.” Sonic said, looking at Manic.
“He really is shy though.” Manic replied. He curled up a little more. “We didn’t want to lie to him as much as I would’ve preferred to lie about everything.”
“Mine haven’t bothered to ask.” Sonic said. “Mostly because they don’t have anything to run in or around at Mom and Dad’s house.”
Manic and Sonia laughed.
“At least they’re understanding, I guess.” Sonia said.
The siblings flinched as the door opened.
Shadow stuck his head out the door. “Oh, there you are.” He said. “Maria woke up and was looking for you.”
Sonia turned to face Shadow. “Oh, I’ll be there in-”
Maria squeezed between Shadow and the door and hurried out to Sonia. She hugged Sonia.
Sonia stroked Maria’s black and pink spines. “Do you want to sit and look at the stars with me?”
“Yeah.” Maria replied. “Can Daddy sit with us too?”
Sonic got up and helped Manic up. “We’ll let you all do that.”
Sonic and Manic went back inside the van as Shadow got out and sat down beside Sonia.
Maria crawled into Shadow’s lap and laid her head on Sonia’s lap.
Shadow put his arm around Sonia as she rested her head against Shadow’s chest. They quietly looked at the stars as Maria drifted off to sleep again.
