Manic started the car and called Aleena. “Hey, Ma. I-”
“Please don’t back out, Manic.” Aleena said.
“No, I’m not backing out.” Manic replied. “We may be running late, I had to change a tire, but we’re on the way. Hopefully there’s no traffic.”
“Oh, good.” Aleena said, relieved.
“Happy Mother’s Day, Ma.” Manic replied. “We’ll be there in a few minutes.”

Glitch rushed over to Aleena.
Aleena knelt down. “Aww, I’m so glad you’re here.” She said, hugging Glitch.
“Hey, Ma.” Manic said. “Where is everybody?”
Aleena let Glitch go and straightened up. “Sonic and Sally are visiting her mom’s grave, they’ll be on their way here soon.” She replied. “Shadow and Sonia will be on their way as soon as they’re finished making dinner. My stove went out this morning.”
“I would’ve brought something if I had known.” Manic said.
“I didn’t have your phone number until you called.” Aleena replied.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” Manic said, sliding his backpack off of his shoulders. “I forgot.”
“I’m just glad you came.” Aleena said, hugging Manic.
Manic unzipped his backpack. “We made you something.” He said, pulling a gift bag out of his backpack. “Surge made the frames, we made the pictures. Happy Mother’s Day, Ma.”
“Thank you.” Aleena said, taking the bag. She pulled out the frame.
Three of the pictures were drawings Manic, Surge, and Glitch drew of a family picture they had taken after Aleena was released from the hospital.
Aleena sniffled and wiped her eyes. “I love it.” She said softly. “Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome.” Manic and Surge replied.
Aleena set the frame down. “Did you draw this first picture, Manic?”
“Yeah, it only took me a few hours.” Manic said.
“I never realized you were that good at it.” Aleena replied.
Manic half smiled.
“I know.” Aleena said. “You didn’t deserve that. You’re really talented, sweetie.”
“Thanks, Ma.” Manic replied. “That means a lot to me.”
