Sean finally arrives at his next destination, which was the road way known as Poco Path, where Nemona was waiting for him. From what Sean could see, there were many wild Pokemon in the grass and trees. While he was familiar with some Pokemon that he has seen back home, there was those that he was unfamiliar with. In the distance, he caught a glimpse of a lighthouse.

"All right! This here is Poco Path!" Nemona said. "It's the path that leads to adventure for you and me! Out here, things are different than in town. You're gonna see wild Pokémon out and about. They'll be on the path and in the grass and such!"

"Kinda like the Wild Area in Galar." Sean noted. 'Except that area was huge beyond anything, compared to here.'

Nemona smiled at that as she turned to him. "Get too close to one, and you'll have to battle. But you've got Fuecoco for that, right? And if you want to try to catch a Pokémon, you gotta use... a good ol' Poké Ball!" She holds out the capsule device in her hand, before grabbing four more from her backpack "I've got tons. Have a few!"

"Thanks, Nemona." Sean replied, putting the five Poke Balls away.

Suddenly, a loud oinking noise was heard and both Trainers looked to the side and spot a stout Pokémon resembling a hog. Its body is almost entirely grayish black, except for the brown coloration on it's face and ears, and the yellow growths under its eyes that resemble teardrops. Its ears are droopy with yellow insides, and they partially cover its eyes. It has a triangular pink snout with two huge oval nostrils as well as stubby feet ending in pink hooves. Its tail is short and curled.

Sean took out his Rotom Smartphone and scanned the Pokemon. 'Lechonk, the Hog Pokemon. A Normal Type. It searches for food all day. It possesses a keen sense of smell but doesn't use it for anything other than foraging.'

Nemona suddenly gets an idea. "Oooh, what luck! Time for some learning by doing! Try battling this Lechonk, Sean!" She stepped to the side, as Sean took out a Poke Ball and sent out his Fuecoco.

"Alright, Fuecoco! Time to battle!" Sean called out. Fuecoco crawed out in agreement. "Fire off an Ember attack!"

As instructed, Fuecoco unleashed a ball of fire that makes direct contact with the wild Lechonk, causing it to squeal in pain before it recovered and immediately retaliated with Tackle. Fuecoco braced itself from the strike, holding its ground before striking back with a powerful Bite, throwing it aside and winning the battle. The Fire Croc let out a proud cry, glad that it won.

"Nice!" Nemona praised Sean and Fuecoco. "Defeating a Pokémon in battle will help Fuecoco grow and get stronger! Next time, try throwing a Poké Ball when a Pokémon's riiight on the tip of being defeated. You'll have a decent chance at catching it then!"

"I'll make sure to do so." Sean replied, picking up Fuecoco in his arms.

"Anyway, have some more Poke Balls just in case. Not every catch works out!" Nemona gifts Sean with ten more Poke Balls. "Weaken the Pokémon, then throw the Poke Ball! Remember that, and you'll be fine! Now go battle those wild Pokémon and catch some of 'em! Let's meet back up at that lighthouse over there!" She pointed to the lighthouse in the distance "You can see our school from the top!"

"Right, you got it!" Sean nods once as Nemona smiled and walked further up the path "Let's see what this journey brings us."

With that said, Sean began to walk up the road while seeing the many abundance of wild Pokemon. He saw some more Lechonk, along with a green spider-like Pokemon with a ball of white thread around its body, hanging on the side of the tree. Sean checked his Pokedex and it was known as Tarountula, a Bug Type.

Furthermore, Sean also saw wild Hoppip, Scatterbug and Fletching, ones that he was familiar with that he had already seen back in Galar. Also, he found many Potions and Berries scattered all over the area, which he deemed as very useful. Then, a wonderous sight caught both Sean and Fuecoco's attention as they looked to the vast ocean glittering in the shining sun with no clouds. Needless to say, it was an amazing sight to behold. Fuecoco was in silent awe while Sean smiled as he stroked the Fire Croc's head.

"Let's take a picture together." Sean decided on.

As Sean held Fuecoco in his arms, the Rotom Smartphone floated in position as both Trainer and Pokemon smiled together when the picture was finally taken. The smartphone flew into the boy's hand as he looked at the picture, and smiled at that. Fuecoco seemed happily content with the end result.

A squeaking noise was heard as Sean looked towards the tall grass to see a small, quadrupedal, rodent-like Pokémon that has a body that is almost entirely orange, with cream coloration on it's lower forelimbs, snout, and tail, and green on the insides of its ears. It has beady brown eyes and a tiny nose. Its forelimbs are considerably large, and it has a tuft of fur on top of its head.

Sean pointed his Rotom Smartphone at it, scanning the Pokemon 'Pawmi, the Mouse Pokemon. A Electric Type. It has underdeveloped electric sacs on its cheeks. These sacs can produce electricity only if Pawmi rubs them furiously with the pads on its forepaws.'

"Let's try and catch that Pawmi." Sean held out an empty Poke Ball with Fuecoco ready to battle. The wild Pawmi immediately looked at the two, who froze on the spot. Pawmi unexpectedly releases a small burst of yellow electricity from its body, shocking both Sean and Fuecoco. "YAAHH!" With both Trainer and Pokemon collapsed and paralyzed from the shock, Pawmi took the chance to flee from the area. 'Just my luck...'

Sometime later, Sean and Fuecoco recovered from the attack and decided to continue towards the lighthouse, where the pathway started reclining upwards. It wasn't long until he heard a familiar voice calling out to him.

"Hey, Sean! You getting the hang of how to catch Pokémon OK?" Nemona spoke as she walked up to Sean, who smiled sheepishly after remembering the small incident with the wild Pawmi "Let me see. So far you've caught-"

'Guh-GYAOHHH!' A loud roar echoed through the entire area, which surprised the two Trainers. Some of the nearby Pokemon flee in fear.

"Whoa! What was that?!" Nemona exclaimed, still in shock as she and Sean glanced around "I've never heard that kind of cry before!" The same roar was heard, but sounded quieter than before "Could be some strong Pokémon or something!"

"That's one possibility." Sean assumed.

"I say we find whatever made that cry! Let's take a look around, Sean!" Nemona suggested "Just be careful—there's a kinda unsafe cave not far from here, so steer clear! And I know your Rotom Phone can help keep you safe, but watch your step by these cliffs anyway!" She then went down one path to search.

Sean walked over the main path, then noticed an opening on the rope guardrails. He approached the edge of the cliff side and glanced down at the beach below for anything, only to see two wild Houndour barking and growling at a creature that was laying down on the beach floor.

"What is that thing...? A Pokemon...?" Sean wondered, now standing at the very edge of the cliff.

The creature slowly raised its head at the Houndour and let out a loud roar, which made the area shake and Sean stumbled in surprise but unfortunately loses his footing and ends up falling down towards the beach. Luckily, his Rotom Smartphone halted his fall at the last second, and allowed the boy to land safely, to which he let out a sigh of relief.

"That was way too close for comfort..." Sean muttered to himself, then noticed the Houndour running away from the creature.

Sean slowly approached the unknown creature, and finally got a better look of the Pokemon. It appeared to be a large, scarlet colored reptile with white accents on its cheeks, abdomen, legs, and tail. It has yellow eyes with brown pupils, and a pair of long, thin, twisted antennae on its head. On its chest is a circular protrusion which resembles a rubber tire. Its texture and black coloration are similar to the base of its tail.

The Rotom Smartphone scanned the Pokemon, and its screen showed a question 'No Data!'

"Well... that's new..." Sean commented as the creature weakly lifted its head to look at him "Hey, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you." The creature let out a weak growl, clearly too weak to move "Maybe it's hungry?"

Placing his backpack on the ground, Sean rummaged through it and brought out the sandwich that his mother made for him, holding it out for the creature, who looked up at the human offering food. After letting out a soft growl, the creature sniffed the sandwich before suddenly chomping down on it while nearly getting Sean's hand in the process.

"Whoa! My hand's not part of the sandwich!" Sean exclaimed in surprise, clutching his hands together. He watched the creature scarf down the sandwich quite happily. After finishing it up, the creature began standing on both its hands and feet, letting out a cry "Look at that, you're all better now!"

The creature stared at Sean for a moment before turning its gaze at the cave opening behind him before walking past the boy and coming to a stop.

"Ah-GIIIAAAS!" The creature let out a loud roar before lowering its head as a reddish-orange glow enveloped it.

"Whoa..." Sean muttered in awe, feeling the energy radiating from it. He then saw the creature leap into the air and waved its arms apart while releasing a blast of energy "Double whoa!"

From what Sean saw next, the creature appears to have changed form. Its head now features a large plume, with its arms and feet now have webbed qualities, with the tire protrusion on its chest now slightly larger. The creature landed on the ground and roared proudly, which has Sean left in stunned silence.

'This Pokemon is full of mysteries...' Sean thought in wonder, then saw the creature glance back at him before walking inside the cave, the ground shaking with each step it took. "W-Wait..." He held his hand out for a brief moment, then looked back at the cliff at where he fell previously. "No way I'm gonna be able to climb that."

Looking at the cave entrance, Sean let out a soft sigh and decided to go on, where he saw the creature apparently waiting for him. Once the boy got close enough, the creature began to move onward with Sean trailing behind.

Inside the cave, there was a small pool of seawater that seems to lead outside, along with some green moss hanging off the rock walls, giving off a luminescent glow.

"Oyeee! Sean!" A familiar voice shouted, which made Sean look up to see Nemona far off in the distance, standing on a ledge of a cave exit. She appeared relieved when she sees him "There you are, Sean! You OK?! You're not hurt, right?"

"I'm okay!" Sean called back.

"Thank goodness. I was really worried!" Nemona said in relief, then had a look of regret "If you'd gotten hurt because I said we should go looking for whatever made that cry..." She then shook her head "No, never mind that! Right now we've gotta focus on getting you back up here! You've just gotta find some way to climb out of there! If you can get close enough, I'll try pulling you up with one of my Pokémon's moves!" It was then she noticed the creature. "Hey, what's that Pokémon in front of you?! It looks super strong! Kinda seems like it's waiting for you... Does it want you to follow it?"

"Seems like it!" Sean shouted at her as he followed the creature until they reached a large rock pile blocking the way.

Before Sean could say anything else, a light-green aura forms around each of the creature's hands and they turn into a claw-like shape. It then slashes the rock into many pieces, and cleared the path ahead.

"Whoa! That was amazing! That Pokémon might be as strong as mine! Maybe stronger!" Nemona cheered excitedly.

Sean followed the creature deeper into the cave, and to a larger area with wild Pokemon residing there. He saw wild Diglett and Yungoos, keeping their distance from the passing duo. Sean felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked around as to why he felt the sudden urge of fear but quickly shook it off as he progressed deeper into the cave.

However, a large pack of wild Houndour appeared, and began to growl and bark at Sean and the beast, who was undeterred as it then roared back even more ferociously. The Houndour immediately retreat away, which cleared the way for Sean and the creature as they moved onwards.

"Hey, heads up—some pretty rough and rowdy Houndour live in this cave!" Nemona warned "I'm glad you've got your bodyguard, but watch your back! They're strong!"

"Yeah... but it feels like there's something else in here!" Sean told her. "I don't know what it is..." He muttered as they approached another boulder. The beast raised a glowing claw and pulverizes it into nothing before continuing forward.

"Oh my gosh, it straight up pulverized that rock! How powerful even IS it?! I wonder what that move was. Man, I wanna see it up close!" Nemona began sounding excited, which amused Sean until he heard her cry out in a concerned tone "Sean, look out! Something's coming!" Sean tensed up even more than before, like death itself was glaring at him "Behind you—it's behind you!"

Sean felt his blood run cold as he turned around to see a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon with black fur, a long orange snout, and an orange underbelly. It has small red eyes and a black nose. Around its neck is a white band with a small skull-shaped pendant on its throat. There are two white bands on each of its ankles, as well as three rib-like ridges on its back. It has a long, skinny tail with a triangular tip and three clawed toes on each paw. Atop its head is a pair of long, curved gray horns.

"A Houndoom..." Sean muttered, as he know that Houndoom are dangerous Pokemon. The Fire and Dark Type let out a eerie, echoing howl as it bared its fangs. "Oh, boy..."

Suddenly, Fuecoco emerged from its Poke Ball and began to growl at the larger Pokemon as it was ready to defend its Trainer from harm. Fuecoco angrily unleashed a powerful Ember attack, but the attack had no effect on Houndoom as the flames were absorbed.

'Flash Fire...' Sean thought in horror, then saw Houndoom charging up a Crunch attack "Fuecoco, look out!"

But the warning came too late as the Dark Pokemon landed the powerful move on Fuecoco, causing some serious damage as it cried out in pain. Sean picked up his injured Pokemon and glared at Houndoom, who snarled as it began to charge up a Flamethrower attack.

Meanwhile, the mysterious creature looked back at what was going on then glanced down at the ground in thought before coming to an immediate decision. It leaped into the air and landed in front of Sean, swiping its tail at Houndoom, sending it skidding back. The beast then roared menacingly at its new foe.

The wild Houndoom growled in annoyance before letting out a loud howl that echoed throughout the cave, then a dozen Houndour appear behind it, moving to surround both the beast and Sean.

"We're trapped..." Sean muttered in worry as he used a Potion to heal Fuecoco, then returned the Pokemon back to its Poke Ball.

The beast looked unbothered by the Houndour and raised a claw to strike them but looked ahead to see many more Houndour rushing forward. It then looked back at the boy, who was now defenseless, and it suddenly leaped towards him.

Sean was caught by surprise as the creature suddenly scooped him up and roared at the Houndour before looking around for a way out.

"Heeeeeey!" Both Sean and the creature looked up, seeing Nemona above and waving her arms "Up here! Quick!"

The creature jumped onto one shorter ledge before jumping once more on the second ledge to reach the cave exit where Nemona was. The girl cheered and clapped happily as the creature gave a short glance while still holding onto Sean, who was glad to have gotten away from the Houndour and Houndoom.
