Shadow sat beside Sonia’s hospital bed, stroking her fur. “Great job, Sonia.

Sonia held hers and Shadow’s newborn baby. “She’s beautiful.”

“Like her mother.” Shadow said, gently petting Maria’s head with his fingers.

“Want to name her Maria?” Sonia asked.

“It’s perfect.” Shadow replied.

Sonia’s phone chimed.

Shadow sighed. “I thought we told them not to bother us.”

“They probably just want to know if we’re okay.” Sonia said.

Shadow got up and walked over to the little counter across the room. “What time is it anyway?” He asked. He picked up the phone. “Huh, it’s midnight.”

“It’s Christmas then.” Sonia said.

Shadow looked over the messages. “Do you want to send your brothers and mom a picture?”

“Alright.” Sonia said. “Just take her picture; I probably look like a mess.”

Shadow turned the camera app on. “You gave birth almost two hours ago.” He replied. “I don’t think they’ll mind.”

“Alright, but you have to be in the picture with me.” Sonia said.

“Fine with me.” Shadow replied. He walked over to Sonia’s bed and sat down in the chair beside the bed. He leaned closer to Sonia and took a picture. “Done.”

Shadow sent the pictures to Aleena, Manic, and Sonic. He set the phone down on the table.

“Merry Christmas, Shadow.” Sonia said.

Shadow kissed Sonia. “Merry Christmas.”
