Chapter 10

Truth and Consequences

Kagome carefully stood on her tippy toes a gently kissed Sesshomaru on his warm lips. Sesshomaru gasped in surprise and quickly released InuYasha, pulling Kagome into his arms and deepened the kiss. Kagome sighed in satisfaction, not wanting this feeling to end. Sesshomaru sucked on Kagome's bottom lip causing her to, now, gasp in surprise. Sesshomaru took advantage of it and quickly stuck his tongue in her mouth, causing the Miko to moan in ecstasy and follow his lead. They continued to make love with their tongues until Kagome had to pull away, gasping for air.

{OH KAMI! WHAT JUST HAPPENED! I feel like a concubine! What in the world was I thinking?}

Lips still tingling, Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru and saw what she could only describe as PURE lust, in his eyes. She quickly looked away, a blush now staining her cheeks, wondering what he could be thinking at this very moment and also relieved that she was able to distract him from InuYasha at the moment.

{Why did she kiss this Sesshomaru? Could it be that she likes this Sesshomaru? Or was it for an entirely different reason? Could it be that she kissed me to distract me from my hanyou brother? GRRRR...she will pay for that!}

Anger flashed in Sesshomaru's eyes and before Kagome knew it, she was picked up by the neck and slammed against the tree that the Lord was hiding in only moments ago.

"Sesshy! What are you doing, please put me down!" screeched Kagome.

"Baka! How dare you come between this Sesshomaru and is prey! You will pay dearly for this!"

"Sesshomaru! Please, I don't understand, why are you doing this?" said a now VERY scared Kagome.

"YOU...You dare kiss this Sesshomaru! You dare kiss me and then proceed to act as if I am nothing? You will die a very slow painful death!" Sesshomaru dropped Kagome on the ground and proceeded to summon his demon whip.

"NO SESSHOMARU! PLEASE! WE CAN TALK THIS OUT! I'M SORRY! I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO! YOU WERE GOING TO KILL INUYASHA! I HAD TO STOP YOU SOME HOW!" yelled Kagome, still terrified.

"I care not for your reasoning, prepare to suffer the consequences of your actions, Miko."

Sesshomaru once again summoned his whip, finger lighting up and swung the whip in Kagome's direction, without thinking Kagome put up a pink barrier, protecting her from Sesshomaru's demon whip.

"Sesshy, please, we need to talk about this, why are you so angry?" asked Kagome

"This Sesshomaru does not wish to discuss things with you, Miko, you will die, and I will go on about my day. Now drop the barrier, or I shall drop it for you." Replied the Taiyoukai with his infamous emotionless façade.

"Yeah right! Like I'm gonna do that! Besides you're being a jerk! It was only a kiss! It's not like we had sex or something! Jeeze! Chill out will you! I'm not going to remove my barrier until you calm down, once you do, once I know that you aren't gonna try to kill me, then I will drop my barrier. Until then, just deal with the situation ok. Oh and just so you know, my Miko powers have improved some what over the last couple of years, so I can hold this barrier up for a long time, buddy!" said Kagome, still scared out of her mind, but hiding it well.

"Very well, we shall do this the hard way." Said Lord Sesshomaru

He drew his whip back into his fingers and pulled his Tokijin from its sheath. Sesshomaru raised the sword above his head and got ready to do his Dragon blast method, but before he even swung he felt 2 aura's heading towards his castle. Reaching out with his demon senses, he realized that the 2 aura's he sensed belonged to the Monk and the Demon Slayer.
{We've got company} thought Sesshomaru. He turned his back on Kagome and faced the entrance to his castle. He then proceeded to say an incantation, in a language that Kagome was not familiar with. When he was done, the stoic Lord once again turned his attention back to the girl from the future.

[Outside the Entrance to Sesshy's Castle...]

Sango and Miroku finally made it to the castle, but could not find InuYasha.

"Don't tell me he already went in without us! Baka!" said Sango

"Yes, it seems so. Shall we join him then?" asked the Monk

"Well, it's not like we have choice, lets just pray he isn't already dead, it is too quiet after all." Said Sango

"Right you are. After you" said Miroku with a perverted smile on his face.

"You touch me, you die." Replied Sango.

"Miss Sango, it hurts that you would say such mean things to me!"

They both headed towards the gate, arguing about how perverted the Monk was and how Sango was going to send him to an early grave if he didn't stop with the defiling of Sango's innocence. They finally reached the entrance, Sango and Miroku looked up at the gate, noticing immediately, that there was a barrier up.

"OH GREAT! How are we supposed to get in now?" asked a now very frustrated taijai.

"Well, I can try to bring it down with my ofudas, but knowing how powerful Sesshomaru is, doubt that these will do anything at all." Replied Miroku

"Well, it doesn't hurt to try, so get to it, lets see what happens."

"Very well Miss Sango, stand back."

Miroku closed his eyes, held the ofuda on is third eye (that would be the middle of his forehead) and said a blessing. The piece of paper glowed bright blue and he threw it against the barrier, hoping that it was effective, it wasn't, it just caught on fire and turned to ash.

"Well that was on of them, I'll keep trying." Said Miroku




[On the other side of the gate...]

"Now where were we, Ningen. Oh yes, I was just about to obliterate you. Prepare to die, Ka-Go-Me."

"NO! WAIT! WAIT!" yelled Kagome.

Lord Sesshomaru raised a delicate eyebrow at the Miko and then said,

"Did I not tell you that I have no wish to discuss anything with you? Do you by chance have a feeble mind? Besides there is nothing I have to say to you...Miko."

"FINE! Then you just shut up and let me talk."

Sesshomaru stood there, not knowing if he should be angry, amused or annoyed. He thought the last one was the best result, because he would NEVER let ANYONE know that he actually wanted to hear Kagome's explanation.

{This should be amusing.} "Well? Are you going to continue sitting there with that idiotic look on your face, or are you going to speak? You're wasting this Sesshomaru's time."

{I can't believe he's actually going to listen! I thought I was a goner for a second there! Jeeze, he's scary when he gets angry!}

"Miko, I am starting to lose patience, speak or die."

"Ano...gomen Sesshomaru-sama...I'm just surprised that you haven't killed me yet!"

"Time is running out, stop spewing useless words and explain yourself"

"Oh! Ok. What am I explaining again?" asked Kagome

{Did he just roll his eyes! He did! He rolled his eyes at me!}

"At this moment, the reason I am allowing you to live is because I am curious in what you have to say about kissing this Sesshomaru, now speak or DIE."

"Oh! Right! Ok. I kissed you because I wanted to. Well actually at first I didn't know what I was doing, I was just trying to keep you from killing InuYasha. But then I realized that you were only trying to kill him because of me. I felt bad at first and then realized that you cared for me. I mean, why would you say what you said if you didn't care, right?" blabbed Kagome

"And what, pray tell, was it that this Sesshomaru said?"

"You said that InuYasha would die because of what he did to me. I mean why would you say that unless you really cared."

"...." The Great Lord was left with nothing to say, I mean what could he say, she heard what was said.

{I did not know that she was there...}

"Infidel, you misunderstand me. Why would this Sesshomaru waste his time protecting a pitiful human as yourself. I care not what becomes of you. What this Sesshomaru really meant was...hold on, I do not have to explain myself to you. Do not question my intent, for you do not know this Sesshomaru."

"Well yeah! Because you won't let me know you, {jeeze your more stubborn than your little brother, speaking of which} I am going to go over there and check on him, I am still gonna hold up my barrier, so don't even bother trying to attack me."

"Feh. Fool! This Sesshomaru would not stoop so low as to attack an opponent when their backs are turned. Do what you will, I care not."

"Yeah, Yeah so I heard." Mumbled Kagome

"I heard that, Miko. Do not try my patience."

{Kami! He is so arrogant! But I have to admit, I think that I'm kinda getting to him, of course I would never say anything to him, at least not yet, because I know that he's just going to deny it. Men are so complicated! Especially dog demons!}

Kagome carefully walked over to InuYasha wary of Sesshomaru, although he said he would not attack, one never knows do they? Kagome sat next to the unconscious hanyou and concentrated on spreading her barrier over InuYasha, not only to protect him form Sesshomaru (just in case) but also so that she can touch him without hurting him with her barrier. She leaned over him and brought her ear down to his chest to see if his heart was beating steadily and that his breathing wasn't shallow. When she saw that he was fine, just unconscious, Kagome felt relief wash through her body, realizing she got there just in time to save him.

{Mi San...why is the Miko out here, I thought I told you to keep her safely locked in her room}

{Oh come on Sesshy! You've got to be kidding me! She's safe isn't she? Jeeze don't get your panties into a bunch!}

{Silence woman! Did this Sesshomaru not order you to hold her in her room?}

{....}

{Answer me witch!}

{Make up your mind! First you tell me to shut up now your saying speak up, talk about indecisive.}

"GRRRRR! Woman you are beginning to work my nerves, answer this Sesshomaru's question at once!"

Startled, Kagome looked over at the Great Lord of the Western Lands, wondering if he some how lost his mind.

"Ano...Se -Sesshomaru-sama, what questions? I didn't hear you ask any."

Sesshomaru looked at Kagome, surprise written all over his face.

{I can't believe it! He's actually showing emotion! Oh my gosh! It looks like he got caught chasing his tail!} Kagome began giggling uncontrollably, but thought the look on his face was priceless Kagome began laughing, really laughing aloud, unable to stop, face turning purple from lack of air.

"Silence Human! You dare Laugh at this Sesshomaru?"

"I'm s-sorry! But I wish I had my camera with me! People would pay to see the look you just had on your face. The Great Stoic Lord, actually showing some emotion!" laughed Kagome.

Not realizing that by laughing Kagome let her guard down. Her barrier dropped and Sesshomaru quickly walked over to her picking her up by her waist and once again slamming her into a tree, but instead of hurting her like she thought Sesshomaru was going to do, he instead leaned in and captured her lips again. Kagome was shocked to say the least, so shocked that she didn't even react, well not at first, after couple of seconds, still shocked but able to move Kagome returned the kiss with a desire that she never even felt for InuYasha, and as quickly as it began, it ended just as quick. Sesshomaru looked Kagome in the eye and slowly placed her feet back on the ground. Kagome tried to stand up straight but realized her legs were like jelly and stumbled, she closed her eyes expecting to find herself face first in the ground, but when no impact came, she opened her eye and saw that Sesshomaru had caught her. She looked him up at him and saw the most arrogant smirk she'd ever seen and decided right then that she loathed the Great Lord of the Western Lands, loathed him so much that she wanted to........skip around happily, singing love songs to all that would listen.

{Mou! What is wrong with me! What is he doing to me! I should be mad at him, but I'm not! I'm afraid that I might like him. Wait no I don't! I love InuYasha not Sesshomaru! That's why I tried to kill myself, because of the love I had for InuYasha, right? Grrr! I'm so confused.}

Kagome quickly stepped out of Sesshomaru's embrace, face as red as InuYasha's Haori and walked back to the hanyou. She looked at Sesshomaru not knowing what to say when she heard a moan. Kagome quickly snapped her attention back to InuYasha and found herself looking into his beautiful golden orbs, the orbs that showed all, no emotions hidden, just out there for all the world to see, if they knew where to look.

"InuYasha! Are you alright? You really had me worried." said Kagome

"Kagome! God I as so worried about you, I thought you were dead! I thought that my
Baka-maru did something to you. Baka! What the hell are you doing here anyway!
Why are you here with Sesshomaru and what is he talking about what I did to you?"
said InuYasha

"Eh? Well maybe we should go inside and talk. Let me summon my helper."

Kagome reached into her shirt and pulled out the amethyst that Mi San had
given her. She tightly wrapped her fingers around it and closed her eyes.
Within seconds, she heard a crackel then a poof and there she was.

"You summoned me Kagome? How may I be of service to you."

"Mi San, I need you to escort InuYasha back to my quarters, I will be
there to join you soon."

"I think not Miko, that half-breed is not welcome in my home." replied Sesshomaru

"Oh...I think so, if you get in our way, I'll purify your ass, don't think I won't!" said Kagome

"You dare threaten this Sesshomaru?!"

"Yes, now shut up. If it weren't for you InuYasha wouldn't be wounded, and he wouldn't have
to stay here, now would he?" said Kagome

"After all that he has done to you? After all that, you still care for the hanyou? You must be denser than I first imagined! Do what you will, but do not let me see him, or there will be consequences to pay." said the stoic Lord

"Arigato Sesshomaru. We will try to stay out of your way."

EF: Well another chapter done. Where the heck are Sesshy and White Angel? Hmmm.

Kagome: I don't know I haven't seen them since before the last chapter, you don't think anything happened to them do you?

EF: Nah! Sesshomaru will protect her! Hey have you seen the cordless phone? I have a phone call to make.

Kagome: Yeah, InuYasha has it, said something about calling for some pizza

EF: Ok thanks. Hey can you do me a favor and get it for me?

Kagome: Sure

EF:

Kagome walks out of computer room

EF: Yay! I getta call Kyo!
