Chapter 19
Sesshomaru's World to Kagome's World (and it ain't pretty)

*Last time...
"Ano, ano...S-s-Sesshomaru-sama?" Long Pause

"What is it kit?"

"Ano, because Okaasan and Sesshomaru-sama are Rin's parents, does this make Rin my sister?"

"That is correct little one."

"Then....then...doesthatmakeSesshomarusamamyotousan?"......
...... "Yes, little one, this makes this Sesshomaru your Otousan...but if you do not wish to call me that, I will not object, it is sorely up to you whether or not you wish to call this Sesshomaru your Otousan."

"I would like that very much...Otousan."

Kagome wept louder ...hugging him as tight as she could (without breaking any ribs) and kissed the top of his head.

"Okaasan! I can't breathe!"

"Oops! Sorry!"

Kagome released her little kit and waited for the arrival of Jakken and Rin. Shippou skipped to Sesshomaru stopping right in front of his Otousan. He looked up into his adopted fathers eyes,

"Otousan?"

Pretending to be annoyed Sesshomaru huffed

"What is it, now?"

"Can I sit on your shoulder?"

Sesshomaru's eyes widened in shock

"Do what you want."

Shippou, filled with glee, quickly jumped into Sesshomaru's arms, then onto his shoulder. Kagome watched the scene, trying to hold back her laughter, but to no avail. She laughed out loud, so loud that it startled the birds in the trees causing them to flutter out of the branches, chirping their disapproval.

"Why do you find this amusing, mate?" asked Sesshomaru, pretending to be irritated again.

"It's not amusing, it's cute. That's why I'm laughing."

"You dare lie to this Sesshomaru?"

Kagome laughed again, this time quieter.

"I'm not lying, just not telling you the whole truth."

"Is that not the same as lying, Ka-go-me."

"Perhaps..."

"Perhaps? Is that so? Do tell this Sesshomaru what else you find so amusing?"

"You really wanna know?"

"Is that not what I just implied?"

"Ok, you asked for it, you're sure?"

"..." he looked at Kagome with no emotion on his face, but you could see the amusement in his eyes.

"I think its cute how acted annoyed with Shippou. I could tell by the look in your eyes that you were pleased with the situation. Like a son you never had."

"Is that so?"

"Quite."

Shippou looked back and forth at his parents, knowing that they were just kidding around. It made him happy and scared at the same time. He had never seen his Okaasan so happy and it kinda scared him to see that InuYasha's half brother was not all he pretended to be. This Sesshomaru was creepy. But creepy in a good way, if that made any sense. Then it dawned on him. Sesshomaru was never as cold as he liked everyone to believe and he wasn't really, what was the word that InuYasha called him, oh yeah. He wasn't really an ass hole. He seemed to be nice and caring, how could it be that InuYasha has never seen this side of his brother?

"It is because he never takes the time to really see me, he just sees me as the brother he knew when we were kids."

"EEP! How did you know what I was thinking?" asked Shippou

"Because I could hear your thoughts, loud and clear. We will have to train you to put up your walls. For I am not the only youkai that can hear ones thoughts."

"Oh! Well that's kinda neat! Will you teach this Shippou how to read thoughts, Otousan?"

{THIS SHIPPOU? ALREADY HE SOUNDS LIKE SESSHOMARU!}

{He does, doesn't he? I quite enjoy it.}

{PSHHT. You would}

{Isn't that what I just said?}

"Mou*!!! Here you go again!"

Shippou looked at his parents, puzzled at what his mom was talking about, but before he could ask her heard Rin running towards them, with the little green imp right behind her.

"Sesshomaru-Otousan! Sesshomaru Otousan! Rin has found Jakken!"

"AWK! Otousan! You dare dishonor Lord Sesshomaru? Why would he want a useless child like you to call him Otousan? He is a supreme and up most Lord, you have no right to call him that!"

{WHY YOU!!!!} Kagome looked over at Sesshomaru, wondering if he was going to do something or if she would have to; she opened her mouth ready to speak but was interrupted.

"Jakken."

"Yes milord?"

"You will refrain from degrading Rin, this Sesshomaru has already given Rin permission to call me, Otousan and I will not allow you to talk down to her. If I hear of you mistreating her again, this Sesshomaru will cut of your head and feed it to the fish. Is that clear?"



Jakken bowed low to the ground.

"Yes, milord."

"Rin...Mate...let us go to the Bone Eaters well." Sesshomaru walked away, stepping on Jakken, Rin followed suit, but Kagome decided to walk around the poor little imp and followed Sesshomaru to the well.

"Jakken, you are dawdling, hurry and follow, this Sesshomaru has duties for you while my mate and our children are in her world."

"Yes, milord. Anything milord."

[15 minutes later...]

Kagome reached into her shirt, pulling out the little jar that held the sacred jewel shards. She carefully opened the bottle, and took out 3 shards, one for Rin, one for Shippou and one for Sesshomaru. She prayed that this would work.

"Um Sesshy-kun, I wanted to warn you before we go to my time. I am not sure if this will work, the only person that has been able to pass through the well is InuYasha and me. The only reason why I can pass through is because of these shards, once they are gone I will be stuck either her or there. But I am not sure if it will work with you and our children. I just want you to know that."

"Its fine, we will try it and if it does not work, if only you can go through then return immediately and we can come up with another plan. Does that sound reasonable?"

"Yes, Sesshy-kun."

Kagome handed everyone a shard of the Shikon no Tama and waited for Sesshomaru to give his instructions to Jakken.

"Jakken, you will take Ah-Un back to the castle and to InuYasha. When you return you will listen to all that he has to say. He is the Lord until I return, you will do his bidding and you will not disrespect him. If This Sesshomaru hears that you even looked at him wrong, you will be punished, is that clear?"

"Yes milord."

"Very well."

Sesshomaru turned to Kagome and the children.

"Let us go, we are wasting time. Rin you will be held my Kagome and Shippou you will ride on my shoulder. Mate, I will hold onto you and we will all enter the well at the same time."

"Good idea. Let's do it."

Kagome prayed that this would work and held onto Sesshomaru as tight as she could.

{OH KAMI, please work!}

Sesshomaru leaped onto the rim of the well and looked back at Jakken.

"Do not disappoint this Sesshomaru." Then disappeared into the well.

Sesshomaru looked around and saw a blue light appear, engulfing them in its light.

{It seems to be working, Koi} the light disappeared and the family floated to the bottom of the well.

Sesshomaru put Kagome down and told Shippou to go to Kagome. Sesshomaru took in a deep breath and then proceeded to gag, he suddenly became light headed an a little nauseous. The next thing he knew, everything went black and he fell over, barely missing Kagome and the kids.

"Sesshy-kun! Sesshy-kun? Are you alright?"

Kagome leaned down and felt for a pulse. It was strong but beating rapidly, she sighed in relief and then heard another thunk. Kagome turned around only to find that poor little Shippou had fainted as well.

"What the heck is going on? Why is everyone dropping like flies! Rin, are you okay? You don't feel like you're gonna faint too, do you?"

"Nuh uh, Rin is fine. Rin doesn't know why Otousan and Oniichan* fell down."

Kagome turned her attention back to Sesshomaru just as his eyes began to flutter open.

"Sesshy-kun! Are you alright? You aren't hurt are you?"

"This Sesshomaru is fine...what is that wretched smell? It's making me ill."

"Oh!!!! I forgot! Our world is different, you smell the smog."

"What is this smog?"

"Well, its smoke and pollution from the horseless carriages I was telling you about. I mean that's not the only thing it is we have other things that pollute the air as well, but I will explain those to you later. Do you think that you can stand up?"

Sesshomaru leaned into Kagome and inhaled her wonderful scent; this made him realize that when he is close to Kagome, the smells of her world were less intense.

"If you stand close to me, then I will be able to handle the smell of your world."

Kagome smiled and wondered if he was being sweet or if he was serious.

{What is it about my smell? InuYasha said I smelled good too. Demons are weird.}

Sesshomaru felt a sudden surge of jealousy, a feeling that he was not familiar with and did not like.

{So my brother has said the same to you as well has he?}

"Oops! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it like that! I just don't understand what it is about my scent that comforts you. I mean what do I smell like?"

"You smell like cherry blossoms and something else that I cannot explain."
"Oh. I never knew that. Although my shampoo is cherry blossom scented."

Kagome heard a moaning sound and looked over to her adopted son. He was regaining consciousness.

"Oh Shippou! I can't believe I almost forgot about you blacking out! Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I think so. Your world smells funny. I like my world better."

"You know what? I do too. The air is cleaner and there are more trees and landscape. But we must visit my family and I really need to get some supplies. We are running low on a lot of things.
Plus I have to tell my Okaasan and my grandpa about my marriage to Sesshy-kun."

"Marriage? What is that?"

"Well Shippou. It's just the human way of saying mate. That's all."

"Oh. That's weird." Replied Shippou.

"Are you all ready to meet my family?"

"Yes" was every one's reply.

"Ok, I just want to warn you that the smells will be stronger once we leave this well. So Shippou I want you to hold this against your nose." Kagome handed Shippou a kerchief that she pulled out of her bag.

"Okay Okaasan. I will."

"Sesshy-kun, stand as close to me as you can so that the smells of my world don't cause you to pass out again."

"Are you telling me what to do?"

"Nope, just a request. Do what you want, but don't say I didn't warn you!"

"I will stand next to my mate, but not because you told me to, only cause I want to."

Kagome snickered, barely audible to Sesshomaru's ears, but he heard her none the less.

"Oh! Here Sesshy-kun, put these in your ears. I know how sensitive they are."

Kagome handed Sesshomaru some bright orange ear plugs causing him raise an eye brow.

"What are these ridiculous things?" Sesshomaru asked.

"They're ear plugs. You squeeze the little part and push them into your ear like this." Kagome demonstrated how to use them.

"I refuse to wear something as ridiculous as those, I will be fine."

"All right suit yourself, but remember I warned you!"

Sesshomaru raised a delicate brow again.

(It couldn't be that loud could it?)

The family walked up the stairs that lead away from the well, Kagome leading the way, Shippou sitting on her shoulders, Sesshomaru behind her and Rin right behind Sesshomaru.

Right when Kagome slid open the doors to the well, an airplane was passing through the sky; Sesshomaru bellowed and covered his sensitive ears with his hands.

"What is that painful noise? It's hurting my ears!"

"Oh that (Kagome smirking because she told him so), it's just an airplane. You still refuse to wear the ear plugs?"

"Sesshomaru looked at Kagome, not knowing what she was saying, because all he could hear was the noise of the plane."

"I cannot hear you. Please repeat yourself."

{I said, it was just an airplane and was wondering if you wanted to wear these ear plugs.}

{The noise is starting to fade; I still refuse to wear those ridiculous things}

"Alright suit yourself."

Kagome looked over at Shippou to make sure that he wasn't affected by the noise as well, but realized that she could not find him."

"Shippou? Shippou where are you sweetie?"

Shippou peeked up from underneath the stairs that lead down to the well.
"Make it go away Okaasan!"

"Make what go away Shippou?"

"The big monster! Make it go away! Please!"

"Oh honey, there are no monsters, that was just modern technology, why don't you come out from under there and when we get to the house, I will try show you books that tells you everything and anything you need to know."

Shippou vigorously shook his head and refused to move from his spot under the stairs.

Kagome felt bad for her little kit and was wondering how she was going to convince him that all was well.

"Shippou there is no need to be afraid, Sesshomaru is here and so am I, we will protect you with our lives."

Shippou looked at Sesshomaru face full of doubt,

"The monster hurt him too! I saw it! He yelled because he was hurt!"

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru, a pleading look in her eyes, begging him to help her out.

"Shippou you fool, that was no monster, as you can see I am perfectly fine, for nothing will ever get in the way of my family because I will kill anyone who dares to harm a single hair on my loved ones. Please come here."

Shippou looked at Sesshomaru and stuck one foot out, still in doubt, but trying to be brave.

"Will it make you feel better if this Sesshomaru came down there and retrieved you himself? Would you like your Otousan to hold you until we reach Kagome's family's home?"

Kagome smiled at how sweet her demon lord was being. She looked at her Kit and waited for his response.

Shippou looked at his mom and Kagome nodded,

"It's okay sweetie."

"Yes please, I'm still kinda scared."

Sesshomaru walked down the steps and Shippou stepped out from under them.

The demon Lord reached for Shippou when all of a sudden a scream broke through the silence.



Everyone jumped including the Lord of the Western Lands, who unfortunately, fell on his ass once again.

(This is getting tiresome, why must this Sesshomaru always find himself in such embarrassing situations?)

Shippou jumped 10 feet into the air and ran right back under the stairs.

"AHHHH! I told you!" Shippou screamed.

Everyone (except Shippou) looked over at the screamer, it was Rin.

Kagome ran to her daughter and pulled her in her arms, but Rin was pulling away.

"What is it Rin? What has scared you?"

"Rin is not scared Okaasan!" and she pointed behind Kagome.

Kagome looked behind her and saw Bouyo playing with a butterfly in the corner.

"The neko is sooooo Kawaii!"

Kagome then realized that Rin wasn't scared, it was exactly the opposite, she was excited and wanted to play with the cat.

"Oh! That's Bouyo my cat, you can go play with him if you want. But don't wander too far, stay in the well house so that I can see you."

"Yay! Okay Okaasan. This Rin will stay in here!" Rin ran towards the kitty and plopped down in front of him, laughing at the cats tactics.

Kagome walked down the steps and saw her love sprawled across the floor, trying hard to keep from laughing she stepped a little closer.

"Sesshy-kun, are you okay love?"

"I do not see what is so amusing, koi."

"I'm sorry! I just can't help it, you look so cute!"

Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow and sat up, but still sitting on the ground. He put his hand out, asking Kagome to help him up. She reached for his hand and began to pull, when she felt herself being pulled down on top of him. She screamed (making Shippou jump again) and fell on top of Sesshomaru. He held her close to his body, not letting go or loosening his grip.
"Cute am I? How cute?"

Kagome blushed and looked down at his lips.

"Very cute."

"Is that so? Some how I am not convinced. Can you convince me?"

Kagome leaned down and took possession of Sesshomaru's lips and kissed him, convincing him that he was indeed cute.

(Cute, more like sexy! More like hot! More like flaming hot!)

Kagome released his lips and laid her head on his chest.



"Are we interrupting something?"

Kagome jumped off of Sesshomaru and Sesshomaru jumped up from the ground, readying his poison claws for an attack.

"Mama! Grandpa! I'm so happy to see you!"

Kagome ran towards her mom and realized that Sesshomaru was in full attack mode. Kagome gasped and stepped in front of him.

"Sesshy-kun! That's my family! Don't hurt them! They are harmless."

The demon Lord looked at her parents and relaxed, realizing that they were not dangerous. Or so he thought. Before he could regain his composure, Kagome's grandpa was all over him, slapping sutras on every part of Sesshomaru's body.

"Demon, be gone! Demon be gone!"

Sesshomaru sweat dropped, then growled a very low growl, warning Kagome's grandpa.

"Grandpa! Stop! He is harmless!"

"Say's you! Demon be gone! (slapped a sutra on Sesshomaru's forehead) Demon be gone!"



"Insolent human, you dare attempt an exercism on this Sesshomaru? The Great Lord of the Western Lands? Prepare to die!"

"NOOOOOO! Stop it! Both of you! Stop it right now!" yelled Kagome.

"You! (pointing at Sesshomaru) go stand over there!"

"But this ningen..."

"Now, or I'll purify you myself!"

Sesshomaru looked at Kagome and crossed his arms over his chest, he titled his head up, eyes still on her grandpa and backed towards the spot Kagome pointed to.

"Grandpa! You go over there or I will let Sesshomaru attack you!"

"B-but Kagome..."

"No arguments grandpa, go!"

Grandpa crossed his arms over his chest as well and walked away, looking over his shoulder. He leaned against the wall and did what most men do when they don't get their way or are scorned, he pouted (no offense to the men!).

{What gives her the right to tell me what to do? I am her elder. Children these days show no respect for their elders.}

Kagome looked at her grandpa, because she heard his every thought.

"Well grandpa, then you should respect your elders as well, since Sesshomaru is over 200 years old and therefore makes him your elder."

Grandpa sputtered looking for a way to respond, but Kagome held up her hand, telling him that she didn't want to hear it, and then turned her attention to her kit.

"Shippou please come out of there, I want you to meet your grandma."

Shippou peeked his head out again and slowly began to come out of hiding.

"It's okay, hon. Come on out."

Shippou walked over to Kagome and her mom.

"Shippou, this is my Okaasan."

"Hello, grandma. Pleased to meet you." Shippou bowed showing his respect.

"Ohhhhh! He's soooo cute! So you're the infamous Shippou, huh? The on who loves pockey?"

"Uh, huh."

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you little one."

Kagome looked over at Rin, seeing that she was watching everything go down, a big smile on her face, as if she was amused by all that just happened.

"Rin, come here please."

Rin skipped towards her Okaasan and her new grandma.

"Mom, this is Rin."

Kagome's mom leaned down and stuck out a hand.

"Pleased to meet you, Rin."

"Rin is happy to meet you too!"

Kagome then looked over at Sesshomaru.

"Mom that's Sesshomaru over there, he seems mean, but he really is a kind man, he has helped me out these last few months."

"Oh, hello Sesshomaru, it's nice to meet you."

Sesshomaru stepped away from his corner and gracefully walked towards Kagome's mom.

"Hello. This Sesshomaru is pleased to meet make your acquaintance." He reached out for Kagome's mom's hand and leaned over, kissing the top of it.

Mrs. Higurashi looked at her daughter and said,

"Ohhh, he's a handsome one isn't he and so polite. But my, he does look a lot like InuYasha."

"Oh, that's because this is InuYasha's older brother. He's the Lord of the Western Lands in Feudal Japan."

"My, my a Lord, huh? I take it InuYasha chose the other you, didn't he?"

Kagome looked at her mom, shocked by what was just said.

"Actually, no...I mean he did, but he didn't. She's dead, InuYasha is with Sango now."

"What? Sango, I thought she was with the perverted monk."

"Well, yeah she was, but now he's with someone named Mi San, she's from the east. She works at Sesshomaru's castle."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"So, after witnessing what we just did, it's safe to say that you and Sesshomaru are an item?"

"Yes and Shippou and Rin are our adopted children, both orphans."

"Well you have a lot of explaining to do, lets all go inside and get you all settled in. Later on we will all have some tea and catch up on everything."

"Hai, mama. Give me a minute; I need to talk to Sesshomaru in private."

"Rin, Shippou, why don't you come with me, I may have some pockey..."

"Yay!" hollered Shippou, Rin smiling wondering what the heck this pockey stuff is.

"Come on dad; let's leave the love birds alone."



"Fine, but remember this demon, I'm keeping my eye on you. Make one bad move and I will exorcise you to hell!"

"Grandpa! That's enough out of you!"

{Don't even think about it Sesshy-kun}

{But he is so annoying!}

{Stop whining!}



"You're so sexy when you do that."

"Do not think that flattering me will get you anywhere."

This time it was the Miko's turn to stick out her lip and pout.

"But Sesshy-kun, he's harmless, I promise, he is just protective over me is all. Besides he did worse things to InuYasha."

This somehow made Sesshomaru feel a little better.

"Fine, I will forget about it for now, but if he does it again, I will not hesitate to slice him in half."

"Man, sometimes you can be sooooo violent, besides I know you won't do that because you would never hurt the ones I love."

"You know this Sesshomaru to well."

"Can you please stop talking like that? It's just you and me now."

"I apologize, what is that you wanted to talk to me about."

"That was it oh and this."

Kagome leaned into her mate and reached for his head. She brought him down and kissed him. Then pulled away.

"Thank you for not hurting grandpa, he's annoying, but he means well."

Sesshomaru took Kagome's hand and said,

"Shall we go?"

"Yes, now the smells are stronger out there so prepare yourself."

"As long as you are standing next to me, all will be well."

So the lovers walked out the door hand and hand, walking up the path that leads to the main Higurashi home.

Shippou: Hey, EF, why did you make me out to be such a scardy cat?

InuYasha: Because you're a brat, that's why!

Shippou runs over to InuYasha and jumps on his head, biting InuYasha's ears. Inu grabs Shippou by the back of the shirt then holds the kit in front of him and bonks Shippou on the head a few times.

EF: Inu-kun! Stop!

Inu: What he started it!

Shippou: No I didn't you did!

Kyo: Why don't you both shut up.

EF, Shippou and Inu-kun: WHAT?!

Kyo: not you EF, I meant the annoying little kit and the baka inu.

EF: better not have been talking to me. Really you guys need to stop fighting so much, what would Kagome say?

Kagome: She would say "SIT BOY"

Inu: Why you!!!!

Kagome: Sit!

EF: Man, I feel for you Inu-kun that looks like it hurt.

Inu: ohhh ohhh the pain
