Me: Ok, this is my first attempt at some songfics. It's a series of songfics about the Yu Yu Hakusho cast. This first one is for Hiei Jaganshi.

I'll be using English lyrics, so you don't like it, go away. Read the important info at the bottom.

Hiei closes his eyes as the wind slowly blows. The moon is shining on him and it makes his skin look soft and smooth, no matter how many scars he has.

*The moon's light begins to shine like a knife
Onto the horizon and the freezing night
Holding onto myself, I'm one person alone in the wilderness
I perk my ears at the song of the wind*


He stands in a field, near a cliff. His ears perk up as the cold wind picks up. He opens his eyes and looks up at the full moon, his eyes shining in the moonlight.


*They'll never know those sleepness nights
My strength is not accustomed to their rules*


It's very late a night. Why isn't Hiei asleep? He asks himself the same question. These past couple of nights have been sleepless. He starts to feel weak at times because of it.

He looks up at the sky. He can hear a faint whistling sound and soft words. He has heard it a lot these sleepless nights. He looks at his right hand...The one with the Dragon...He holds it tightly and softly closes his eyes.


*My lonesomeness is much more than being lonely
And I don't care for that kind of loneliness
What kind of chilly nighttime am I under,
Hiding any warmth*


He has been lonely these past couple weeks. Yuusuke being off on lots of missions. He doesn't want to be near Kuwabara. Kurama has been off with his mother. Koenma and Botan are not people he wants to be around. Yukina...She has been busy around the temple, he doesn't wat to disturb her. He shivers lightly as the cold wind.


*Since I am a bird caught in a cage
It's becoming a time that I no longer know my name*


Ever since Yuusuke beat him and he became Koenma's Spirit Detective, Hiei has felt trapped. Not being able to go to Makai on his own free will...Being forced to stay in Ningenkai...He feels like he doesn't know his name because his name means, "Flying Shadow"...Yet...How can he be one when he is trapped within Koenma's grasp.

He hears the soft whistle again and the soft words. He looks up into the sky before clutching his right hand tightly and closing his eyes softly.

He cluthes his right hand tightly and closes his eyes softly...before jumping off the cliff and flying into the night. Where? To Makai...His home...
