Eyes meet across a room, and, zap, a connection is made. But not today.

Just a random poem. I hate it, but after yesterday it needed writing, and after being written it needed to be shared. And after being shared with my friend Ellen and with my Dark, The Wingless Raven, they insisted I post it. So.

-----

Eyes meeting across a room
A moment
Do you feel it?
Like being zapped with static
Destinies entwined

The girl was there
Yesterday
In black and blue and purple
There should have been a moment
I missed

Sitting with her legs crossed
Looking like she was going to cry
Bag at her feet
Her eyes reached my face
A moment?
Not quite

From the car I could see her
Waiting for a bus
Alone
My eyes almost meeting hers
But not

Some people like static
I don't mind it much
But she was more like
A bolt of lightening
Amazing
With the power to kill me
So I didn't dare

So I've missed a moment
Of lives joining
Destinies meeting
I regret this
This missed moment
But it's too late
Nothing I can do
Not now
