Bobby Drake wandered the halls of the Xavier Institute aimlessly. He had nowhere to go, no one to talk to, and nothing to do. Of all his fifteen years he couldn't ever remember being this lonely. He had been dating Jubilee, but she was off dating some new guy now because he supposedly was too much like a brother to her. He had gone to Hank to see if he wanted to do something, but he was too wrapped up in his lab right now. The rest of the X-Men had some sort of excuse or another. In one day, he'd heard them all.

How can you see into my eyes,

Like open doors?

Lading you down into my core,

Where I've become so numb.

He couldn't understand what he was feeling. It was all just one big confusing mess.

Without a soul,

My spirits sleeping somewhere cold.

Until you find it there and lead it back,

Home.

Bobby sighed, school would start soon so he had to get ready. He picked up his book bag once he reached his room and headed towards Ororo Munroe's class room. As always he was the first one there. He sat down at his desk and waited for everyone to arrive.

(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside.

(I can't wake up)

Wake me up inside.

(Save me)

Call my name and save me from the dark.

(Wake me up)

Bid my blood to run.

(I can't wake up)

Before I come undone.

(Save me)

Save me from the nothing I've become.

He watched as Ororo brought in an unfamiliar girl. She had auburn hair and the prettiest brown eyes he'd ever seen.

Now that I know what I'm without,

You can't just leave me.

Breathe into me and make me real.

Bring me to life.

Ororo rapped lightly on the table with the gavel that she always kept at her desk.

"Class, we have a new student today, her name is Rogue."

(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside.

(I can't wake up)

Wake me up inside.

(Save me)

Call my name and save me from the dark.

(Wake me up)

Bid my blood to run.

(I can't wake up)

Before I come undone.

(Save me)

Save me from the nothing I've become.

"Rogue, why don't you take the seat over there." Ororo pointed to the empty seat to Bobby's left and his heart lept into his throat.

Bring me to life.

(I've been living a lie,

There's nothing inside)

Bring me to life.

Rogue shuffled her way over to the seat and slowly sat down.

"Hi, I'm Bobby." He introduced himself.

Frozen inside without your touch,

Without your love, darling.

Only you are the life among the dead.

He placed his hand on her desk and watched her face intently as it lit up when he made an ice rose with his hand.

(All this sight,

I can't believe I couldn't see,

Kept in the dark,

But you were there in front of me)

I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems,

I've got to open my eyes to everything.

(Without a thought

Without a voice

Without a soul

Don't let me die here

There must be something more)

Bring me to life.

They both watched as the boy in front of them stuck his hand behind his back and turned his lighter on. The fire grew as his powers enhanced it. Bobby compared it to his love for Jubilation and iced the fire with his powers.

(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside.

(I can't wake up)

Wake me up inside.

(Save me)

Call my name and save me from the dark.

(Wake me up)

Bid my blood to run.

(I can't wake up)

Before I come undone.

(Save me)

Save me from the nothing I've become.

When the ice dropped and shattered on the floor, Bobby felt his love for Jubilee fade to nothingness. He suddenly felt so much lighter. The boy in front jumped when the ice dropped.

"John!" Ororo said sharply. "Is something wrong?"

"No." He replied and the teacher went back to teaching. Bobby glanced at the girl next to him with happy thoughts. Maybe he could forget about everything else. Maybe there was something better for him. Maybe... just maybe, he could fall in love.

Bring me to life.

(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)

Bring me to life.
