Charlotte's POV
So it's like 8:00 and I'm still not at the party. I'm just too afraid, I mean what if Gerard suddenly decides he doesn't like me and kicks me out of the party. I wouldn't be able to take it! I doubt he'd do that, especially at a party. But either way I'm not taking that risk, I'll just tell him...I had to get Brandy(my puppy) fixed. I have no idea what that means but hopefully he does.
Gerard's POV
"Mikey, have you seen a girl about your height with long, pretty blonde hair, with purple streaks?" Gerard asked worriedly.
"Uh, sorry bro haven't seen anyone like that. It might be because I've been with Alicia this entire time," he yelled over the loud music.
"Doing what may I ask?"
"Stuff," he said with his hands behind his back, twisting around to look like a little kindergartener.
"Whatever, but I'm not babysitting your eight kids!" Mikey just smiled and skipped off down a hallway, being slammed into the wall by a passing group, at one point.
Gerard walked to the kitchen and found the phone, hidden by a tempting case of beer. He fished around his pocket for a napkin with Charlotte's number on it. At last, around the same time the group of people in the background started doing the YMCA (it was pretty much a lame party from then), he had found it. He dialed the number, fingers shaking, wondering what had happened.
(Phone Conversation)
Around the sixth ring somebody picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Charlotte! Are you okay?"
"Oh, yeah but my dog isn't. I'm so sorry! My dog broke and I had to get him fixed," I couldn't really couldn't help laughing at her excuse.
I paused a for a bit to make sure I wouldn't laugh into the receiver.
"Charlotte why are you lying to me?"
"What do you mean?" she said with a nervous tone in her voice.
"I mean, why would you make up such a lame excuse not to come? If you didn't want to come I would've understood, I mean if I was too forward we could've..."
"Gerard, you weren't forward at all I just... I don't know I was just nervous is all," she explained.
"So are you coming over or do you want go do something else?"
"I'll come, I'll see ya in a few minutes. Bye"
"See ya, babe." I hung up and walked in the living room and sat on the couch to watch the drunken morons switch to Macho Man.
Charlotte's POV
After I finally got over the fact that Gerard called me babe, I grabbed a random jacket and got in my car. It took about five minutes to get on the right street and another ten to figure out Mikey and Alicia lived in an apartment. While walking up the steps to the second story I could here people singing to the Village People and frankly, it scared me. I knocked on the door but figure it was a stupid attempt because there was a slim chance they heard me over the stereo.
So I walked across the threshold and saw everyone dancing around with a bottle of beer in hand. Poor Gerard, when I found him he was sitting in a corner staring off into space, excluded from all alcohol-related activities.
"Hey, you," I said, snapping him out of his trance.
"Hey," he said obviously happy to see me.
"You want to get out of here?"
"Whatever you want to do. We can stay if you want," he answered sweetly.
"No, come on I can tell you're gonna be bored out of your wits."
"Okay, but let me just introduce you to Mikey first. By the way you might want to brace yourself."
"What?"
"You'll see," he smiled.
He grabbed my hand and led me down a hallway. He opened a door to a bedroom. My heart stopped. He told me to brace myself and he did smile. But he was completely sensitive to women when it came to things like this. Or was he?
"You okay?" he asked inquisitively.
"Yeah, but what are we doing here?"
He paused a moment. He looked down at the floor and then slowly lifted his head. I would've never guessed he could smile that big.
"You thought I wanted to...." Gerard started to laugh hysterically and landed on the bed.
I then realized we really were looking for Mikey and weren't about to "do it." I could feel my cheeks burning with embarrassment. Gerard saw this and stopped almost immediately.
"Aww, sugar, I'm sorry. Come here, " he opened his arms for a hug.
I walked over to him, still looking at the ground, and put my arms around him. He kissed my forehead and ran his fingers through my hair.
"I'm sorry, honey," he said soothingly, while gently putting my head on his chest.
"All I know is I'm not babysitting their eight kids!" said a giggling voice.
We both snapped our heads up. Frank, Mikey, and Alicia were standing in the doorway, smiles across their faces.
