The next morning, Brendon was the first one to wake up and was pleased to see that Scott was already up. Brendon couldn't help but smile when he saw that Lexi was still sound asleep next to him. He had always had a crush on her but, because of the fact that she was dating Brent, he could never do anything about that. Now, none of that seemed to matter. She was so beautiful when she was sleeping. Brendon leaned in and kissed her softly on the forehead, which caused her to stir.

"Good morning." She said groggily, pulling his body down on top of hers which made him smile. He kissed her softly, not caring what the consequences might be. She pulled away from him slowly when she heard her cell phone start to ring. Lexi groaned as she saw Brent's name flash across the screen.

"Are you going to answer it?" Brendon asked, kissing her neck. Lexi smiled and answered her phone.

"What the hell do you want Brent?" She snapped, which surprised Brendon. He couldn't help but laugh as Lexi yelled angrily into her cell phone. After a few minutes of bickering, Lexi finally slammed the phone down.

"What the hell happened with you guys? You guys were like the perfect couple." Brendon said as she sighed heavily. She laughed slightly as she sprawled across the bed. Brendon soon noticed that she had started crying. He pulled her close to him and tried to comfort her. "It's okay Lexi... Everything is going to be okay." He whispered, stoking her hair softly.

"He is such an ass!" She whispered becoming frustrated. "He just can't be happy for me! I am living my dream and just because he isn't, he just treats me like shit! I broke up with him before I came out here because I couldn't deal with his shit and now he calls me to tell me that he loves me and that he wants me back. What the hell?" Lexi angrily wiped the tears off her cheeks. "I'm sorry Bren... I shouldn't be dumping on you. That's not fair." She stood up and pulled her hair into a messy bun.

"Don't be insane. Brent has always been a bit of a jerk. I always knew that you could do better than him." Brendon said, standing up as well. She smiled at him as he pulled her into another hug and dropped a soft kiss on her forehead. "Come on, let's go downstairs and get some breakfast." He suggested, turning around. "Come on, get on!" Lexi laughed as she jumped onto Brendon's back and he gave her a piggy-back ride down to the kitchen. Once he put her back on the ground, Lexi playfully messed up his hair. "Oh no you didn't!" Brendon said, pretending to be angry. Lexi squealed as he grabbed her waist and started to tickle her.

"Guys... can you not do that in the kitchen?" They both laughed when they turned around and saw Spencer standing in the door way. "Bren, I just wanted to tell you that Pete is taking us to the airport this afternoon. We're finally going to get to go home for a while." With that, he disappeared back into the living room. Lexi sighed as she sat one of the barstools. Brendon sat down beside her, and put his arm around her.

"It's only for a few months. We can make this work." He whispered.
"What exactly is 'this'?" Lexi asked, looking into his eyes. He cupped her
face and kissed her softly.

"Us... if you want there to be an us." Brendon said seriously, kissing her again.

"I don't know Brendon... I mean we're both going to be really busy over the next few weeks. Maybe we shouldn't do this right now." Lexi said, turning away from him. "I just got out of a bad relationship. I don't think that I'm ready for this yet."

"I am really sorry. I shouldn't have rushed anything." Brendon said. He quietly got up and left Lexi alone with her thoughts.

Lexi was standing in the crowded Chicago airport next to Pete. Everyone was saying their goodbyes. Brendon could barely bring himself to say goodbye to Lexi, not after their earlier conversation.

"Lexi..." He started. Lexi cut him off by placing her lips forcefully on his.

"I've been thinking about what you said earlier. Brendon, I am willing to make us work... if you still want to, that is." She said as she pulled away from him. He responded by kissing her again, this time more passionately, not caring who was watching them.

"Of course I still want to." He grinned, hugging her tightly. "I really have to go right now, but I will call you the second I am on the ground in Vegas, I promise." Lexi smiled as she watched him run to catch up with the others. Before he boarded the plane, Brendon turned around and blew Lexi a kiss, which made her laugh. She waved to him before turning and following Pete outside to his car.
