Disclaimer: I do not own Animorphs, nor do I own the song included in this fic, "The Day That I Die" by Good Charlotte.

A/N: I would rather you review nicely, rather than giving reviews based on the choice of song. If you send a review stating "Good Charlotte Stinks" or some derivitive, I will ignore your review. I would hope that you, as a reviewer, would be mature enough to judge me based on my writing rather than the song I have used to create the mood. Flames are not accepted. If you have an issue with my writing, let me know what I've done wrong and how to fix it. This goes for the whole story. Thank you.

One day I woke up
I woke up knowing
Today is the day I will die

I looked out onto the Hork-Bajir valley, knowing of the battle soon to begin.

Cashdogg was barking
Went to the park and
Enjoyed it one last time

>Hey, Rachel,> Tobias said, flying over. >Want to fly, one last time before it's all over?>

You had no clue, Tobias. No idea how right you were.

"Sure, I'm coming up."

I called my mother
Told her I loved her
And I begged her not to cry

"Hey, mom... I'm sorry. I know it's been hard for you, but... if I die..."

"You won't die."

>No, Rachel, you won't...> I looked up.

I wrote a letter
That said I'd miss her
And signed that goodbye...

No mom, don't spend your life wasting away about me. I know... it's tough...

You know the happiest day of my life
I swear the happiest day of my life
Is the day that I die...

But sometimes it seems that the best thing to do isn't the right thing to do. I'm in a better place now, hopefully... War and reality cross lots of times.
Hugs,
Rachel.

Can you feel the cold tonight? (The day that I die)
It sets in, but it's alright (The day that I die)
Darkness falls, I'm letting go (The day that I die)
All alone, but I feel fine (The day that I die)...

>It's a little chilly.>

>Yeah. I probably should demorph.>

>Yeah.>

We took a drive and
We drove through DC
To see the places we lived

>Hey, it's your house.>

>The school too.>

Long conversations
We talked of old friends
And all the things that we did,

>Do you remember the dance?>

>The one where your eyes bore into Alli's back?>

>No, the other one.>

>Oh.>

The summer nights,
Drunken fights
Mistakes we made...
Did we live it right?...

>Tobias?>

>Yeah?>

>Did we do this right?>

You know the happiest day of my life
I swear the happiest day of my life
Is the day that I die...

>We really should head back. We'll need sleep.>

>As much as we can get, you mean.>

>Ha.>

Can you feel the cold tonight? (The day that I die)
It sets in, but it's alright (The day that I die)
Darkness falls, I'm letting go (The day that I die)
All alone but I feel just fine...(The day that I die)

>You never answered me.>

>Yeah, Rachel, we did. We fought. We...>

Did I live it right?
(The day that I die)
I hope I lived it right
(the day that I die)
Did I live it right?
(The day that I die)
I know I lived it right
(the day that I die)

>Are you sure?>

>I hope so.>

>Let's go.>

>Yeah.>

Did I live it right?
(The day that I die)
I know I lived it right...
(The day that I die)

We flew off.
