Chapter 1 - The Capture

Today, Kagome Higurashi, had to baby-sit. Today, Kagome Higurashi, had to baby-sit for seven hours, with no pay. Well, at least if she had to baby-sit, it was her little brother. Souta really wasn't a bad kid, he just got on her nerves sometimes. "Kagome? Are you up stairs?" Her mother shouted. She sighed, mom was leaving already? She had hoped that she could go down the well today, but, oh well. Guess Inuyasha would just have to stay patient until tomorrow.

"Hai!" Kagome shouted, walking out of her room and to the stairs, smiling at her mom. Today was a Saturday, and she was to spend this beautiful sunny Saturday baby-sitting Souta.

Kagome was dressed in a simple light blue skirt and a white short sleeved shirt with a picture of a rice cake dancing on it. Her long black hair was tied back in a ponytail for the first time in a while.

"Okay, your Grandfather and I are leaving now. I don't want you visiting Inuyasha today. I don't want Souta going down that well." She ordered. Kagome nodded, figuring she would say that. "All right, well, goodbye Kagome. Make sure Souta doesn't get into trouble, and make sure to WATCH him."

Suddenly, Kagome heard running feet, and turned to see her brother Souta running at her. He couldn't stop himself in time, and he bumped into her. Kagome staggered to the side with an 'oof'. "Bye mommy!" Souta shouted, waving at her, smiling. Kagome smiled, her brother could be cute sometimes. Their mother smiled, and waved to Souta and walked out the door. Souta started jumping up and down, tugging on Kagome's arm. "What do you want to do first Kagome? Do you want to play outside? Want to paint something?" Suddenly, he got a gleam in his eye, and he put his hand to the side of his mouth, and whispered excitedly, "We could go down the well and visit Inuyasha! I've always wanted to go down there, and now that mommy's gone, we can! And besides, you'll be watching me, and I PROMISE I won't make trouble. I'll stay right by you ALL the time." He said, his tone pleading with Kagome.

She sighed, they had had this conversation before. "Souta, you know we can't. I'm not supposed to take you down there, and I'm not going to do something when mom told me not to." Souta had expected this answer, and he frowned.

"Please?" He decided to try once more. He put on his best 'pretty please' face, and looked up at Kagome. "Please Kagome?" He said, making his voice soft, and pleading.

"Souta, you know we aren't supposed to. But..." Kagome said. "I know something that we could to instead..." Kagome smiled slightly. "Oh, but you probably wouldn't want to do it. Never mind." Souta was interested now. This was the easiest way to get off the subject.

"What? What could we do instead?" He said, looking up at Kagome.

"Oh, I was just thinking that maybe we could make some cookies, but you probably wouldn't want to. I was even willing to let you lick the bowl but you probably don't want to do that." Kagome mentally snickered as she saw Souta's eyes grow wide. Their cookie making bowl was huge. It had room for two heads to fit in, and then some. It made enough cookies to last their family for a month.

"Wait, Kagome, I changed my mind. We'll bake cookies." Souta said, taking Kagome's hand, and dragging her down the stairs. Kagome smiled, Souta was so adorable. Souta chose the double chocolate chip cookie mix, and Kagome pulled out the bowl and the mixer. They mixed up the ingredients into the bowl, and poured the mix onto the pan, in small circles. Souta pushed it into the oven, and closed it. "Can I lick it now Kagome?" He asked, staring at the huge bowl. Kagome laughed, and nodded.

"But I get the spoon." Souta nodded in agreement, and sat down at the table, sticking his finger in the bowl, and licking the cookie mix from it. Kagome sat at the table, licking the spoon, thinking to herself. I wonder how Inuyasha's doing. Today's the fifth day being in my world. He's probably standing at the well right now, yelling insults inside to try and get me out, or complaining or something silly like that. Kagome laughed softly, and Souta looked up at her.

"What's funny?" He asked. Kagome looked up at him, and started laughing. He had cookie mix all over his face, and hands.

"Souta, you look ridiculous!" She said, between fits of laughter. Souta just sat there, looking at the bowl, and then at Kagome, and trying to see his face, but only ended up looking cross eyed. This only made Kagome laugh harder. "Souta..." She said, stopping from laughter. "You can't eat without getting yourself messy can you?" She said, standing to get a washcloth. Souta licked around his lips, and tasted the cookie goodness. He smiled, and smacked his lips.

"I can't help it. It tastes so good. I want to take a bath in this stuff." He said, smiling. "I'd just eat the whole thing."

"And you'd be a hundred pounds heavier, and very dirty afterwards. And probably sick too." Said Kagome, smiling. She walked over to him, and started to wipe off his face. "See silly? Look how much you've wasted." She teased, showing the washcloth to Souta. Souta just smiled.

"Oh well, I've still got plenty more." He said, looking inside the bowl. He was right, he had plenty. Kagome nodded in agreement.

"You sure do. Well, what would you like to do once you finish? We could play outside." She suggested. "Help you work off all the fat you'd have gained after eating all that." Souta frowned, and looked at his stomach.

"I look the same to me." He said. Kagome laughed. "But I do want to play outside. Think we could go play tag? Or we could duel with the wooden swords I got for my birthday. Yeah! Let's do that! Someday, I'm going to be as good as Inuyasha with my sword. Then you won't need Inuyasha anymore, 'cause I'll be here to protect you." Souta said, getting a triumphant, and strong look on his face as he imagined fantasies of protecting Kagome.
Kagome smiled, ruffling her brother's hair. She highly doubted that would happen, but he could try anyway.

---

"Where is Kagome? It's the fifth day since she's been here! We're wasting too much time. Soon Naraku will have all the jewel shards!" Inuyasha complained, staring down in the well with a scowl on his face.

"Now, now, Inuyasha. Kagome has affairs, and important things to do in her world as well. She can't spend all her time here." Miroku said, stepping out from the forest. "And it's obvious she's not coming today, so why don't you stop complaining and help us look for shards in the meantime."

Inuyasha glared at Miroku. "She's supposed to be here. She said she'd be here today! It's noon already! What can be more important over in her world than finding jewel shards to defeat Naraku here?"

Shippo bounced from the bushes, and landed on the edge of the well, peering down. "I think Miroku's right Inuyasha. It doesn't look like Kagome's coming. Maybe she doesn't like you, and goes to her world to get away from your nagging." Shippo said, looking thoughtful. "It can't be me or Sango that's the problem..."

Inuyasha scowled, and jerked Shippo up by the tail, holding him high in the air. "Yeah right. What do you know? You're just a stupid kid-demon. If anything, she probably wanted to get away from you. You always jump around her, and tug on her clothes!" He said this, shaking Shippo back and forth.

"INUYASHA! LEEEEET GO OF MEEEEEE!" Shippo cried, getting dizzy.

"Maybe this is why she didn't come back." Sango said, stepping from the trees. "All of your fighting and bickering. I wouldn't be surprised. But you guys are being silly. Kagome has school in her world, and a family too. She needs to catch up with them. She probably misses them terribly, staying here five days or more at a time. You guys are being selfish, trying to keep her here for yourselves."

"An excellent point Sango." Miroku said, stepping beside Sango, his hand twitching. Before he knew it, he had a red hand print on the side of his face. "Why are you so cruel Sango?" He whined.

Sango huffed, and folded her arms across her chest. "You are such a disgusting pervert Miroku." She said, before turning, and walking away from him, calling to Kilala.

Inuyasha sighed, and threw Shippo to the side. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just wish she'd hurry." He mumbled. "She's probably enjoying the 'demon-free atmosphere'. Though I have to say, I don't know why she likes that world, it smells awful." He said, making a face. "Though the food there is good..." He trailed off, imagining the instant ramen she always carried with her. "Maybe I'll just go in and see what she's doing..." He said, looking down into the well.

Miroku looked to Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, no. You can't meddle in her family affairs!" He said, stepping towards him. Inuyasha just shrugged.

"Ach, I don't care. I'll only be a minute. I'll just see what she's doing and then come back." Before anyone could protest, he was down the well, and had disappeared.

---

"Souta, get back here!" Kagome shouted, laughing. Souta was fast. They had been playing tag for the past few minutes, and Souta always managed to slip out of her grasp. Suddenly, Souta jumped in front of her, hissing and spitting, mud covering his face and hands, and twigs sticking up from his hair, appearing to be odd ears.

"I am the great... the great..." He trailed off, trying to find a word. "I am the Great Demon Lord, Souta Higurashi the Magnificent. And I am here to eat you!" He shouted in a deeper voice than his own, and started chasing after Kagome. Kagome smiled, and played along, shouting in distress.

"A demon! A demon, help, heeeeeelp!" She shouted, running in circles, her hands in the air. Souta laughed, running after Kagome. Kagome looked back at Souta, laughing, and tripped over a tree root, landing on her butt. Souta was advancing on her, and she crawled backwards, glancing to see where the tree was, and backed against it. "Oh, please oh great demon, don't eat me! Spare me! Please!" Kagome shouted, begging.

Souta looked down at her, looking very superior indeed. He then grinned. "No." He leaned in, and bared his 'fangs', and Kagome let out a cry of terror. Suddenly, Souta was shoved to the side, and Inuyasha stood there, baring his fangs angrily at Souta.

"Get back, demon! Kagome, get behind me, I'll protect you." Kagome and Souta both froze, looking up at Inuyasha, and then burst out laughing. Inuyasha looked at Kagome confused, and then back at Souta. He sniffed, and frowned. "You're a human." He said, angry that he hadn't taken time to analyze the situation.

Kagome was clutching at her stomach laughing, a tear running down her cheek. This was too funny. "It's Souta." She managed to choke out.

Inuyasha was embarrassed, but refused to show it. "I was just playing along." He said, folding his arms across his chest. "I knew he was human." He scoffed, sitting down on the grass.

Souta looked up at Inuyasha, wiping the mud from his face. "Did I really look as scary as a demon?" He asked, eyes wide. Inuyasha laughed.

"Hah! No. You wouldn't ever look like a demon even if you tried." Souta frowned at this, and sat down, looking at the ground. Kagome looked at Inuyasha, and glared at him.

"I thought you looked very scary Souta. Scarier than Inuyasha anyway. Inuyasha's not scary at all. He's as soft and cute as a puppy." She said, smiling, tweaking his ears between her fingers. Inuyasha growled, and glared at her, shoving her back.

"Don't, EVER, do that again." He hissed angrily.

"Or what?" Kagome said, backing up, making clicking noises with her tongue. "Here puppy, come here boy!" She said.

Inuyasha had had it. He stood, and stomped over towards Kagome. He shoved her against the Tree of Ages, and put his arms next to her head, baring his fangs. "You dare call me a puppy?" He growled. He saw Kagome smirk, and he frowned, confused.

"What about the trick I taught you? What was it again? Ohhh yes." Kagome grinned. "Sit boy." She said, and Inuyasha fell on his face. Kagome walked over to Souta, smiling.

Inuyasha groaned, and tried to get up. Kagome just smiled at him, and waited. Once Inuyasha managed to push himself back up, he glared at Kagome. "I was coming to see why you weren't in our world yet. Everyone was saying 'Oh, it must be important', but I don't see anything important. You're running around with your brother. So you can come today." He grabbed Kagome's wrist, and yanked her towards the well.

"Inuyasha, I can't! I have to watch my brother until my parents get back!" Kagome said, yanking her arm away.

"Well then he can come too. But you can't just stay here and not help us if you don't have anything important, or urgent to do instead. Now come on, we're going." Souta got stars in his eyes, and he ran after Inuyasha.

"You mean I can come? Really?" He said, tugging on Inuyasha's arm. Inuyasha looked at him, and nodded.

"Yeah, just don't run off or anything." Kagome ran up and pulled Souta away.

"No! I'm not allowed to bring him! I CAN'T." She said angrily. "My mom made me promise that I wouldn't!" Inuyasha glared at Kagome, but sighed.

"Fine. But the MOMENT you finish with him, TODAY, you're coming into the well. Meet us at Kaede's house." He said, running into the building with the well and jumping in.

---

Inuyasha jumped out of the well in his world, and looked at his companions. "She's coming later today." He said. "She's going to meet us at Kaede's house. Now, who has food?" He asked, sniffing around. "I'm starving."

A shadowed figure waited in the woods. He pushed back into the shadows, a smirk playing on his lips.

---

- 4 hours later -

"Kagome, we're home!" Kagome's mom said, walking through the door. Kagome finished grabbing clothes, food, shampoo and other necessities, and ran downstairs.

"Love you mom, gotta go, bye!" Kagome said, hugging her mom tightly. Her mom smiled, and hugged Kagome.

"Be careful." She said, as Kagome ran outside grabbing her bike.
Kagome jumped down into the well, and then found herself at the bottom of the well in Inuyasha's world.

Kagome wondered how she'd get her bike up, but she managed. She panted, sitting on the grass. "Whew. That was hard." She looked up at the dark sky, filled with stars, and smiled. "It's so beautiful here..." She said. The forests weren't torn down for highways, the sky wasn't polluted by lights and gasses making the stars shine brighter.

She climbed on her bike, her heavy yellow backpack on her back. She had packed food to last weeks, since she had five other people with her, counting Kilala. She had shampoo, conditioner, clothes, and textbooks to study for exams. She started riding through the woods, towards Kaede's house, when her bike hit something. The bike fell to the side, trapping Kagome underneath. She winced, landing on her back, hitting her head on the ground. "Owww..." She said, wincing. "What did I hit..." She murmured, starting to push the bike from her.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her hair, and lifted her up, shoving the bike to the side. Kagome cried out in pain, squirming, and trying to see whoever was doing this. "Well hello pet," said a low voice to her right. She turned in the person's grip, and squinted to try and see him. He was dressed in all black, and he blended in with the dark woods.

"Get off!" Kagome said, as he held tighter. She elbowed him in the stomach, heard him grunt, and he let go of her hair in surprise. She ran as fast as she could, hearing steps behind her. Then someone grabbed her right arm, and more people came out from the trees, surrounding her. "Let go of me!" She shouted, clawing at the person's arm. She received a laugh in return.

"She'll be a good one. The youkais these days like 'em feisty. Makes them more fun to break." He said, smirking at Kagome.

Kagome's eyes widened, and she lashed out at him, kicking, punching, anything she could do to get him to let her go. He did let her go, and she turned to find some opening to run when something struck her on the back of her head. She fell backwards, her vision fading to darkness.

- Later -

Kagome woke with a huge headache, and loud noises all around her. She started to sit up, but winced. Her whole body felt sore. She opened her eyes, and her mouth opened in surprise. She was in a cage! A CAGE! She looked around her and saw many other humans like herself in cages as well. What was this? She looked around a bit more, and found her answer. A large sign read, 'HUMANS FOR SALE'. What the hell? She was being SOLD?

Kagome kicked at the bars of her cage, but they didn't move. She felt cold, and looked down at herself, afraid that her clothes were taken. No, she still had her clothes on, but her jacket had been removed. Her backpack lay outside, propped up against her cage. She heard footsteps towards her, and looked up. The cage was big enough to sit up, but not to stand. "Ah, I see you're awake. Good. I have some people coming in to look at you." He opened his mouth to say more, when a small green toad looking thing ran in front of him.

"We're here, we're here. Show your respects to the Lord of the Western Lands, Sesshomaru." Kagome's eyes widened as she heard the name, and she shrank back in her cage, glaring at the toad. She heard the light tapping of feet, and Sesshomaru walked into view.

"I still don't see why I'm doing this." Sesshomaru said flatly.

"Because, my Lord, you had been saying you wanted a personal slave. Well, here you can get one." The toad said, gesturing around with his staff.

Sesshomaru looked around at the cages, and passed by Kagome's. She sighed in relief, but then saw him look back at her again. The slightest look of a smirk appeared on his face. "Ah, Inuyasha's wench..." He said. The toad waddled up to Kagome's cage, and poked his stick through, hitting Kagome in the chest. Kagome hissed in pain, and grabbed the stick and shoved it into him. The toad fell backwards, glaring at Kagome.

"Did you see what she did to your humble servant Jaken, Lord Sesshomaru?" Jaken said, standing.

Sesshomaru looked at Kagome thoughtfully. He did want to teach his brother a lesson that ANYTHING Inuyasha had he could have, and have it better. Plus, this wench had gotten on his nerves countless times, and it would feel good to break her and bend her to his will. In a way, it would be like breaking Inuyasha. He would love to see his half-brother's face when Inuyasha saw Kagome at his heels, doing whatever he wished. Also, he had wanted a personal slave...

Sesshomaru sighed. "All right, I'll take her." He said, handing the man some money. The man grinned greedily, and pocketed the money, unlocking Kagome's cage. Jaken poked Kagome out with his staff, and, once Kagome was out, she grabbed the staff from Jaken and slammed it down onto his head.

"You touch me with this again and I swear I will hurt you. I've been taking Kendo and other martial arts lessons since I was little. I know just where to hit someone to disarm them, and where to hit to make it hurt the most." She said glaring at Jaken. Suddenly, she felt the staff being ripped from her hands. A hand grabbed her shoulder, and whirled her around. Sesshomaru stood, looking down at her, an angry flair in his eyes.

"You belong to me now, wench. You shall do as I say, and if you do not, you will be punished." Sesshomaru said, letting Kagome go, looking at the chain leashes and the collars lining the walls. He bought one of each, in case he needed these for Kagome later. Kagome noticed this, and she backed up, and started running into the forest. Jaken jumped up and down, and shouted to Sesshomaru.

"Lord Sesshomaru, she's escaping! She's escaping Lord Sesshomaru!" Sesshomaru already sensed this, but he waited until the chain and collar were in his hands. He sped after her, running four times as fast as any mortal could. He soon saw her and smirked, running faster.

Kagome started to run faster, sensing him coming after her. She was panting, not used to this. She reached behind her for her arrows, and cursed. They were by her backpack leaning against her cage! DAMN! Suddenly a hand closed around her neck, lifting her off the ground. Kagome coughed, and choked, not able to breathe at all. The hand threw her to the ground, and Kagome coughed, gasping. She looked up to see Sesshomaru towering over her. He had a collar and a chain leash in his hands. "You will not do that again wench." He said, opening the collar with a key.

Kagome stumbled to her feet, only to be knocked down again. "I have a name. Don't call me wench." Kagome said angrily. Sesshomaru shoved her to the ground, stepping on her arm. Kagome shouted as she felt the bones shift and crack.

"Don't presume that you can order me around without being punished." Sesshomaru said, snapping the collar around Kagome's neck, locking it, attaching the chain to it. Kagome screamed as Sesshomaru stepped harder on her arm. Sesshomaru removed his foot, and yanked on the chain. Kagome's upper body jerked upwards, and Kagome graoned in pain as her arm was moved. "Stand wench." Sesshomaru said, yanking on the chain again. Kagome stood, and he started walking, pulling her along with him.

Kagome yanked, and clawed at the collar, but it wouldn't come free. How dare he do this to me? I'm not some pet, and I'm NOT a possession! He can't order me around like this! Kagome started protesting against the chain leash, and grabbed it with both hands, yanking at it. Sesshomaru turned, raising an eyebrow. "Are you trying to free yourself?" He said, smiling.

Kagome looked up at him, not liking the look in his eyes. He jerked the chain hard, making Kagome slam into a tree. Kagome cried out in pain, her vision a bit hazy, black spots dancing around, her head feeling light. Sesshomaru walked up to her. "You had better stop this, before I'll be provoked to tearing off some limbs." He said, jerking Kagome towards him again.

He 'walked' her back to the Human Selling place, picked up her bag and bow and arrows, and tossed them to Jaken. "Take those to my room." He said to Jaken, yanking the chain again. Kagome stumbled forward, almost falling. Sesshomaru grabbed Kagome by the waist, and shot up into the air towards his castle.

Kagome was thrown to the ground on Sesshomaru's balcony, and then shoved into his room. Jaken had set up a small futon in the corner of Sesshomaru's room, and huffed at Kagome angrily when he saw her, before walking out.

Kagome looked around the room in awe. It was so big! He had a king size bed, with silk sheets on it, a huge desk, a large closet, and she was itching to look into the bathroom. The room was carpeted with white, and the walls were a light blue. Hard to imagine a ruthless killer having such a large, and peaceful looking room as this. She felt a rough tug on her chain, and turned to glare at Sesshomaru. "Take off the collar." She said angrily.

Sesshomaru smirked. "You are in no position to make orders." He said. "If you do, you will be punished." Kagome rolled her eyes, and noticed his lax hold on the chain. She yanked it from his hands, and swung it around in a circle, going faster and faster, advancing on Sesshomaru.

"Let me go." Kagome said angrily. "Take off this collar, and let me go." She said. Sesshomaru shook his head.

"Foolish human." He said, grabbing her free arm, his hand glowing green. Kagome stopped swirling the chain, screaming in pain as the poison started melting her skin, seeping into her human blood. Sesshomaru let go, and threw her to the ground, holding the chain once again. Kagome cradled her arm, gritting her teeth together to keep from crying. Sesshomaru smirked. "I'd love to stay and watch you as the poison makes you writhe in pain, but I have a meeting. I want this room spotless by the time I get back, or I won't give you the medical treatments for the poison." He unhooked the chain from her collar, and hung it over her futon. He walked out the door and locked it, after locking the doors that led to his balcony.

Kagome shouted in pain again, the pain in her arm practically unbearable. She walked into the bathroom, and carefully wet her arm in the marble bathtub, not taking the time to marvel at the huge marble and gold bathroom. Her skin had at least a second degree burn, probably a third. After maybe ten minutes of letting it run under cold water, she stood, and bandaged her arm.

"How DARE he!" She shouted, stomping her foot on the marble floor. "Who does he think he is? Just because he's the stupid King of the Western lands, doesn't make him all powerful!" Slamming her hand down on the counter, Kagome screamed as pain shot up her arm. "DAMN IT!" She shrieked, clutching her arm to herself. She had no doubt that he'd just leave her to die. He'd probably have fun watching. She could see him laughing as she took her last breaths. "Damn him..." She hissed angrily, biting her lip as another wave of pain ran through her arm.

Kagome had no desire to clean his stupid room. She'd rather sit there, and have him come in, yelling at her for not doing what she was told. But the pain in her arm was telling her otherwise. In fact, it was ordering her to start cleaning. "I don't want to." Kagome spoke stubbornly with gritted teeth, sitting down on the bathroom floor, leaning back against the tub. "That would just be letting him win."

You can torment him later, when your life isn't at stake! A part of her told herself, and Kagome sighed. "Right..." She said softly, closing her eyes, calming herself down. She could be defiant later. Right now, she needed him to give her the cure to whatever he put into her system. Whatever it was, it wasn't something that was slow-working. She was starting to feel dizzy already.

Slowly standing, she walked back into his room again, looking around. There were papers strewn about everywhere, his bed was a mess, clothes were in piles on the floor, some dirty, some clean. "Great, this is going to take forever." She said, thinking he probably meant dusting and cleaning the bathroom too. Kagome sighed, and walked over to his bed first. She saw clean sheets in a neat stack on the corner of his bed, guessing that someone had already brought them in. Kagome yanked off the sheets with a bit of trouble, seeing as the bed was over three times as big as her, and extremely tall. She managed to get the sheets off, same with the pillow cases, and put on the new sheets, making sure there weren't wrinkles before she put on the white silk comforter. She lay the pillows down neatly on the bed, and then started on his clothes. She guessed the only way to tell whether they were dirty or not was to sniff them. She sorted through each pile, sniffing and making faces. She folded up the clothes that were clean, and put the dirty clothes in a separate pile. She opened his dresser drawers, and saw that each drawer had a different item of clothing in it. One for robes, one for kimonos, one for armor, one for... undergarments, one for short sleeved, one for long sleeved, and one for pants. She sorted the clean clothes she folded, and placed the right ones in the correct drawers.

Then, she looked at the papers. She had no idea what to do with those, since they were all on different topics. Most were letters, but others were business papers. She sorted the letters from the others, and stacked them in a pile according to date, most recent on top. Then, she sorted the business papers according to date as well, most recent on top. She put one stack on the right corner of his desk, and the other on the left corner of his desk. Then, she pulled out a sponge and bucket from the cabinet under the sink, and poured in some soap, and then filled it with water, and started scrubbing. His bathroom was huge. A ring of dirt had begun to form inside his bathtub, and everything was unorganized and a mess. Kagome sighed. "I've got a long way to go." She said, scrubbing. Once she had finished with the behemoth bathtub, about forty minutes later, she started scrubbing the floors. She felt a bit dizzy, and paused for a minute, her right arm throbbing with pain.

She had to finish, so that he'd take the poison from her body. She tried to ignore the pain in her right arm, and started scrubbing again, but it was hard. Her right arm was protesting as loud as it could against pushing the rag back and forth. This caused Kagome to grit her teeth to the pain, and had to work one-handed. This took her twice as long to finish the bathroom. After what seemed to be hours, which it probably was, Kagome staggered from the bathroom, feeling extremely hot, but shivering at the same time. Sweat beading on her forehead. Her arm was still in pain, but it was mostly numb now. Leaning against the wall, Kagome wiped some sweat from her brow, panting softly. "Well... This isn't good..." She murmured as everything started spinning. Before she knew what was happening, she slumped to the floor, passed out.

---

"Jaken, leave me. Go check on the other servants." Sesshomaru said, a tint of annoyance in his voice. Jaken nodded, pleased to have been given a task.

"Of course my Lord Sesshomaru. I will make sure they are doing their jobs correctly. I will not fail you My Lord!" Jaken said, scurrying off down the long hallway and down the stairs.

Sesshomaru growled after Jaken left. He didn't really know why he kept Jaken alive. Jaken was mainly worthless anyway. Sesshomaru opened the door to his room, and walked in, blinking at the surprising cleanness. His bed was made, his papers were neatly stacked, the furniture was dusted, the windows had been cleaned, his sheets changed, his clean clothes put away, his dirty ones in a neat pile in the corner. He walked into the bathroom, and smiled slightly. It was completely clean. But he looked at the floor, and noticed the bucket and sponge had been left out, and he frowned. Didn't that wench know how to clean up correctly? He walked out of the bathroom, and glanced over at her futon, surprised to see that she wasn't there. He looked down, and saw her on the floor at his feet, shivering madly. He had forgotten. His poison. He sighed, and picked her up, setting her down on his futon. He began to heal her arm, and take the poison from her system. It was more trouble taking it out than putting it in.

---

Kagome groaned, blinking her eyes open slowly. She sat up, and rubbed her eyes. She was alive? She looked at her arm, finding the skin completely healed, the burn gone. He had healed her? She thought he wouldn't care enough. "So you're awake wench." She heard Sesshomaru say, and she jerked her gaze up, and saw him lounging on his bed, the sheets tousled. Great. Kagome started to open her mouth to thank him for healing her, but then remembered he was the one who had poisoned her anyway.

She said anyway, "Did you find the cleanliness of your room satisfactory?" Kagome asked, angrily. Sesshomaru frowned, and stood.

"You will speak only when told to speak wench." He said, grabbing her arm, and twisting it. "Understand?" He hissed. Kagome winced, and nodded. Sesshomaru twisted harder. "What was that? I didn't hear you."

"Yes, I understand." Kagome said. She gasped when Sesshomaru twisted harder still.

"Wrong answer. Try again." He said, smirking, enjoying Kagome's painful expression.

Kagome didn't know what she had done wrong. Sesshomaru waited a second, before throwing her to the floor. "You will refer to me always as Lord Sesshomaru. If you don't, the punishments will be dire. Now, do you understand that, wench?" He said, standing over Kagome.

Kagome nodded. "Yes, Lord Sesshomaru." She said, clenching her fists to keep from attacking him. Sesshomaru smiled, satisfied.

"Good. I was surprised. I figured you would be a bit more defiant than this. But at the rate you're going, I'll have you bent to my every will soon enough." He said, walking to her futon, and taking the chain from the wall.

Kagome saw this, and stood up, backing away from him. She would not be led around like a dog. The door was behind her now. She twisted the doorknob, and ran from his room. She heard Sesshomaru growl in anger, and she ran faster, down the stairs.

Inuyasha and the gang walked through the woods, searching over and over, rain pounding on their heads. "Wait guys, here's Kagome's bike!" Shippo shouted.

Inuyasha ran over, and looked at it. One of her pedals was bent, and the chain thing was completely twisted and broken. He found footprints that looked like Kagome's, and others he didn't recognize. They looked human... It looked like someone had dragged Kagome further a ways, and then she had broke away and started running... they surrounded her, and then she tried to run... They had taken her away somewhere. Inuyasha started to follow the footprints, but found that they had disappeared when the mud turned to grass. "Damn!" He shouted, glancing around. He pushed himself to the ground, sniffing for her scent, but the rain had mainly washed it away. "Damn rain!" Inuyasha shouted to the sky. "What has Kagome gotten herself into this time?"
