When was the last time you read a poem
that accually made you feel glad.
Theres a lost emotion in our generation
and it tends to be a fad.
Sad poems are touching,
Suicide poems can hurt,
But where is the happiness
when we tend to hurt the worst.
Do you have to be in love
to feel on top of the world?
Can I write a poem with a smile
if only to reveil a new emotion to this girl?
If only our poems consisted
of the best days of our lives,
Maybe after a read through
I could see some hope in your eyes.
Im the master of disguise
but I'm falling through the cracks,
The problem is, this broken generation
is one that we cannot take back.
You chose your emotions
by the ones given to you on this world's table.
Look for something new and maybe
make this poem just a little bit able,
to give you some light
to guide through the night.
Just to take those ears away
in return for your sight.
I end this poem with unanswered questions,
this author only hopes that maybe you'd listen.
Write a poem,
Even if you have to fake your smile,
it's not just some written words,
It's our lifestyle.
