Silence. I'm standing in a line in silence. Me and another 99 people. We're all standing, waiting. We are all strangers yet we are all sharing the same feeling, all sharing the anticipaion and the fright. We all know what lies through those doors. It's one of the most important things we'll do. If we mess it up, that's it. End of. But if we get right we could be brilliant. The doors open. I file in with everyone else. There are 100 single desks, each has a name taped to it. I find mine name and sit down. The hall is silence. Two people stand at the front of the hall, arms laiden with papers. A ripple of excitment flows through the room. The papers start being distributed. Slap. Each paper slaps a desk. The two people return to the front of the room, arms empty. They nod and we start. This is it. We have an hour. One hour to decide our lives.
