Hermione and Severus arrived to their destination - it was dark, yet distinctly a room... but where? Severus let go of the young woman in front of him to rifle through a drawer; a few seconds later, fire erupted from the fireplace and she looked around to see nice Victorian rugs, an overstuffed, well-worn chair, and next to it, a small table with an empty brandy glass and an open copy of a book. "Severus," Hermione asked, "where are we?" He replied, "Simply put, my secret hideaway - where I come to once I leave you. It has all of the cloaking charms known to Merlin put on it - and then some. But the full name of this wonderful establishment is the Snape Royal Serpent Castle, this is my parents' house, my childhood home. As the only child, I inherited everything that was theirs: estates, books, magical equipment, so on and so on." Hermione looked around in amazement, asking if she could get the grand tour of this luxurious abode. Snape agreed and began to show his beloved his home.
A beautiful library that Hermione could only imagine in her wildest dreamings, a conservatory that housed his botanical potion components, and the master bedroom were the true highlights of the tour. The only room in the house he did not show her was kept under lock and key. When she asked about it, Snape reassured his beloved, "All will be revealed in due time, I promise." The couple made their way back out to the room they apparated into, and Severus gave more information about his house, "About 2 miles to the north lies the Black Forest - not named after anyone or anything from that disgrace of a pureblood family." Hermione looked harshly at Severus. "What?" he asked, "I can't change the way I view Sirius Black or his family overnight! I don't know what you saw good in him anyway..." Hermione continued to look harshly at Severus, so he decided to change the subject, "Why don't we change into something more comfortable? You still have an entire boudoir of clothing at my London House." Hermione agreed and they apparated to his plain Muggle-style London home. "Where will we be going tonight, Severus?" asked Hermione. "I can only tell you this," Snape replied, "that we must be swift. I'm not sure how long it would take for someone from the Ministry of Magic to come sniffing around here. Might I suggest something to go to the theatre in. It might be a bit cold, so please take something to cover those slender arms of yours." Severus walked Hermione to a room where he kept the clothes for her, then left her to change. She chose a simple burgundy dress with a cream colored, knee-length coat and the gold chain Severus had given her for her birthday. It had belonged to his mother, baring two interlocking hearts on the front of the locket - Wizarding photographs of he and Hermione graced each side of the locket. She smoothed her hair down in the full length mirror as she examined herself before presenting herself to Severus.
He wore his usual all black attire, only this time it was a suit, with a long black duster coat. He gave Hermione an impish smirk and said, "I have half a mind not to take you to the theatre..." Hermione asked, "Now, why is that?" He gave a slight chuckle, something he hadn't done in ages, and said, "Because you look bloody well ravishing! I'd like to take you back to my little hideaway and do all sorts of 'unspeakable things' to you." He wrapped his arms around her again and they apparated once more; this time, they apparated from London, England to NYC, New York. Snape reached into his pocket and pulled out a fistful of American Muggle money and walked up to the ticket booth of the Gershwin theatre and purchased two center, 5th row tickets to see "Wicked." From the opening theme, "No One Mourns the Wicked," to the Finale, the couple watched in silence. As the show ended, they got up and left, walking outside of the Gershwin theatre into the cold night. "I quite liked that," Hermione said, "I thought it was quite charming... although I do believe that the spell Elphaba used in 'No Good Deed' didn't work for obvious reasons." "Why's that?" asked Snape. "Because I know it's fake. I read about it in one of my first year spell books," replied Hermione. Severus could only look at Hermione in astonishment, "You truly are a know-it-all." It was Hermione's turn to smile, "Yes, Severus, but I take it that I'm not... how'd you put it?... insufferable anymore, now, am I?" Snape just HAD to chuckle at this, "No, I guess you aren't." The couple apparated back to Snape's muggle home in London and changed back into their previous clothes. They bid each other a good night and they apparated back to their respectful residences.
----------------------------------------------
While Hermione was out with Severus at the theatre, unbeknownst to her - Mad Eye Moody and a team of expert surveillance operators apparated into Hermione's flat and began to set up the surveillance equipment. And now, thought Alistor Moody, we wait; I'm sure Hermione will make return visits... I doubt anything will come of it, but I can't be too sure...
Once everything was set in place, Mad Eye and the surveillance men left the flat. Not long after, Hermione apparated into her apartment, and instantly the surveillance quietly came to life, watching her every move...
----------------------------------------------
Hermione apparated into her apartment, blissfully unaware that anything had been disturbed or that now the latest in Muggle surveillance equipment was watching her. She waltzed into her bathroom and turned on the shower. Once the heat was to her liking, Hermione shed her clothing and slipped her nude form behind the veil of the shower curtain. The hot water stung her skin at fist, but then became more relaxing as her body got used to this heat, then began to clean herself.
After finishing, she turned off the shower and reached for her towel. After drying off, she slipped on a rose-colored bath robe then walked to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. Once the tea kettle had been placed on the lit stove, Hermione heard the pitiful sounds of wailing outside and rushed to the door of her flat to see what was making all of that awful racket.
Hermione opened the door of her flat, Ronald Weasley and Winky, the house-elf, toppled into her flat. Ron looked up at her from the floor, grinning and slurring, "'Mion-n-ninny! Wu-When did yooou get home? I hic! th-thought you'd be out whic!ith tha' no-good Vikhic!tor Krum-um-um." Disgusted, Hermione looked down at Ron, "It's none of your business WHERE I go, or WHOM I go with! But IF you must know, I went to the theatre tonight, in New York." Ron didn't seem to hear a word she said, he was stuck on his notion that she had left with Viktor Krum, making a 180-degree turn from being a giggling drunk to an emotional mess. He cried out, "Why'd you have to leave me, Hermione? Why'd you leave me for him?" "Oh, yes, Winky knows! Winky knows what the Great Weasley feels!! Why did Master abandon me?" cried out Winky, her sobs growing ever-louder with every word. Getting agitated, Hermione pointed her wand at Ron shouting, "Silencio!" With Winky's cries steadily growing louder, Hermione considered abandoning her S.P.E.W. roots and blasting her into oblivion; instead, Hermione called out for Dobby.
With a crack, Dobby appeared in Hermione's flat, still wearing one of Hermione's old hand-knitted caps. He had grown since his time at Hogwarts, now taking care of Number 12 Grimmauld Place - these days, he wears a cap based on how he feels that day. 200-some odd caps finally got to be too much, so he decided to cut down. He announced his arrival by saying, "You called, Miss Hermione?" "Dobby," began Hermione, "can you help me with Winky?" Dobby peered around Hermione to see a wailing, drunken Winky laid out on the floor, "Oh bad Winky! You knows you's not to be out this late! And drinking! What would Master Harry say?" Winky wailed, "Potter is not Winky's Master. POTTER IS NOT WINKY'S MASTER!!" Dobby sighed, and makes a grab for Winky's hand. With a snap of his fingers, the two house-elves disappeared.
Now, Hermione was left with Ron, who was now standing, having worked through the silencing curse and calling out Viktor Krum for a duel, "Krum! I know you're here, you sorry git! Get out here an' fight me like a man!" "RONALD WEASLEY!!" Hermione yelled, "I've TOLD you that he's not here, he never WAS here, and if YOU don't LEAVE now - I'll PERSONALLY send you to another plane of existence, since I am considering this an INVASION of my PRIVACY!! Now, GET OUT!!!" Hermione stormed to the door of her flat, throwing open the door. Pulling her wand with a swish and flick, Hermione sent Ron flying out of her flat, toppling over the railing to the concrete below. After shutting and locking the door, Hermione went to the kitchen for her cup of tea, hissing under her breath, "The audacity of that complete arse! He bloody well knows that the reason why I'm not with him any more is because of his affair with Lavender. The nerve!"
Hermione was able to finally calm herself as she drank her tea. Slipping between the sheets of her bed, Hermione went to sleep with visions of she and Severus dancing carefree and happy to Wicked's "Dancing Through Life."
