I must say, of all the changes you're making to canon, this new familiarity with the staff of Hogwarts must be, in my opinion, one of the most important.
For all that JRK has butchered characters (viz. Hermione in HBP) and plot-lines alike (viz. the foolishness and idiocy that was OotP) the one aspect of canon that has always struck me as most objectionable is the reactions of the staff and, even more, the authorities to the goings on at Hogwarts. I cannot help but think that heads would roll in Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education if such things as happen routinely at Hogwarts were to occur in the real world. Perhaps with these changes, we'll see some modicum of professionalism and ethical conduct in what is, after all, one of the most important roles in society -- the teaching of children.
P.S.: It's not the idea of Harry marrying Ginny that makes me retch, but that which accompanies it all too often: Hermione being stuck with Ron (who is, after Wormtail, the least friend-like friend in the canon or fanon).Author's response
That's one of my biggest goals for this story: get the staff to interact with Harry on a level that's beyond simply what happens in the classroom. McGonagall's their Head of House--I figure she ought to act like it!
Ron's not mature enough to have a girlfriend of any sort, although he might adopt Harry's HBP chest monster when Viktor Krum asks Hermione to the Ball...To Rewrite History

I love the chaages that you're making to the story. They are better then the book.
I can't wait to see what happens next, keep up the good work and update soon.To Rewrite History

I really enjoyed Harry's teasing of Draco on the train. this is a very alternate take on the characters, but an interesting one.

I loved the new chapters! It's interesting to see the dynamics between the two groups. Personally I can't wait to see what happens in regards to the fake Moody and Snape.Author's response
I'm having fun throwing the headstrong Gryffindors in with the more reserved Slytherins and watching them play nice because Harry's decided to be a "grown up" about it. It seems like there'd be lots of misunderstandings, since they're so very different, but if they find a little common ground they get along all right (e.g. Ron's fascination with Crabbe and Goyle running betting pools)To Rewrite History

winces Ouch! Hope the bloodwork comes out okay - some of the tests can be real female dogs (if you get my drift) Good luck with it!Author's response
I've had enough blood drawn over the past two years not to freak out about it too much when they come at me with needles and tubes. I don't think it'll be that bad, really, but if it is, heck. More time to sit and play with JKR's characters, right? : )To Rewrite History

Loved that bit between Harry and Draco that mimics their first conversation on the train. Sweet and funny.
