Chapter 4 :D
After her small brake down after the first investigation, Winry slowly recovered bit by bit. Brother was so gentle with her feelings and handled the situation very maturely. I sort of envied him a little. Pretty soon, she started to smile again. But...once again, Meas Hughes felt that she was ready to ask for information. Brother violently refused...
"NO!" The blonde alchemist yelled angrily.
"Edward, I know your worried but we can't find out who did this until Winry tells us more." Hughes said. He and Edward had never really fought before.. Edward looked at the ground. The last thing he wanted was for that bastard to continue his freedom after he hurt Winry. But he didn't want her to hurt inside anymore. Any mention of what happened would cause her the fall apart.
"Ed..." Called the small voice. Winry stood in the doorway, her hands on the door frame.
"Mr.Hughes...I'll...I'll tell you....what happened...But only if Ed is with me..." She said quietly.
"No, Winry, you don't have to do this. Your not ready.." Edward said as he turned to her.
"No Edward, maybe your the one who isn't ready. Winry is a strong girl and you act like she's hopeless." Pinako said as she entered the room, smoking her pipe.
"Shut up old hag.." Edward hissed under his breathe. "What do you mean 'I'm not ready'?"
"You've been spending all this time with Winry. And you were relieved that she was too weak to bring up the subject of the rape. Your just not ready to hear the truth of what happened. Your afraid to hear what happened to her." The old woman stated.
"SHUT UP! I'm not some coward! I'm not afraid to hear what he did to her!! I know she's...she's not ready!" He yelled back at Pinako.
"When are you going to grow up!? Face it Edward! Admit it, your afraid! Now for yourself, but for Winry! Stop hiding behind it, Winry is strong enough to talk about it now!"
"Edward...listen to Granny...I am ready...well...just come with me when I tell what happened? I....I can't alone..." Winry cringed. Edward looked at her sadly and then at his feet.
'Granny is right...I am afraid...No, It's for Winry...I have to be there for her.' He thought and looked at her.
"Okay." He half smiled and held out his hand. Winry took his shakily. The three of them, Hughes, Ed and Winry entered the kitchen and sat down. Winry never let go of Ed's hand. Hughes looked at Winry and began.
"Your grandmother told me that this person that raped you...he was a costumer of yours, correct?" He asked her.
"Yes, very frequent too..." She tightened her grip on Ed's hand, making him wince but he ignored it.
"Did he ever...hint any feelings toward you?"
Winry thought for a moment.
"He did once...I was working on his arm when Granny told me Ed was planning on coming for an automail tune up. I guess I was happier then I realized and he started asking me questions about Ed."
"Questions like...?"
"Like...'Is he your boyfriend?' 'How close are you?' 'Does he love you?' and this one bothered me the most even though he didn't finish it I knew what he was going to say... he asked me 'Does he make you feel...' and that was it. I knew it was something sexual and I didn't feel very comfortable around him anymore. Then...his visits became more frequent and he would always look at me like...I just knew he was thinking bad things.." Her grip became tighter.
"Winry...tell me what happened that night. What did he do to you?" Hughes asked her, looking her straight in the eyes. She looked incredibly nervous and nodded.
"He...stopped by for a tune up...at a fairly late hour..."
