"I didn't see this one coming," said William.
"Ohh and I did?" asked Simone sternly.
"Well, no, but ugh!! I'm gonna be a dad?? That's not normal for an 18-year-old!!" stated William.
"Well, it's not fair for a 17-year-old either, William. You should've thought about that before you went and raped me," said Simone sternly.
The two kept on talking about what had happened; while sitting in Simone's private hospital room. Simone was doing better now, and was moved from the ICU and to a private room. She had a TV and a call button for food and emergencies. She had a lot of flowers surrounding her room, given by her friends and family. She also had stuffed animals on and by her bed. Topped-off with pictures of her friends and family. It was everyone's attempt for Simone to feel like she was at home.
Kristy came into Simone's room with a smoothie from Jamba Juice, the latest issue of Spin magazine, and Simone's homework. She gave Simone a hug and a kiss on her head. She checked Simone's I.V bag to make sure that she had enough glucose and then she noticed William and rolled her eyes.
"How's my bestest friend doing today?" asked Kristy sweetly.
"I'm ok, actually, a little on the preggers side, but I'm ok," Simone laughed.
"I can't believe I'll be an aunt to my little sugar plum's bun in the oven," teased Kristy.
The two girls laughed and then Simone started to drink her smoothie. Simone's nurse came into the room, to check Simone's stats and then she checked her heart rate.
"Hello Kristy, Hello Simone, Hello, uhh boy?" said the nurse.
Simone then mouthed that it was the father/rapist. The nurse nodded and then listened to Simone's heart beat. Simone had become close with her nurses and doctors. She wanted to bond with them so that she could break the tension of being at a hospital.
"Those are some nice flowers that you have. A long with the other thousands that you have," commented the nurse.
Simone nodded and then replied, " Most of them are from Kristy and this bear is from Frank."
"That's soo nice. Before I go, can I get you anything? Food, beverage, magazine, hott male nurse?" teased the nurse.
Simone laughed and shook her head. The nurse then left her room and Simone continued to talk with Kristy and William.
"I'll be returning to school soon," announced Simone cheerfully.
"That's good to hear," said Kristy.
"Yea, it is," said William.
William looked awkwardly around the room in shame. He knew that he was going to be in the custody of the police for awhile due to what he had done to Simone. He and Simone would have to go to court to testify and then most likely, William would be charged with rape and be taken to jail.
"I'm uhh I'm gonna go outside to get some air," stammered William.
William grabbed his coat and walked out of the hospital room and down the hallway. He then walked out of the hospital, and lit up a cigarette. Hardly ever did William smoke, but when he got stressed, he'd reach for one. As he puffed his cigarette, a very attractive, sandy blonde, blue eyed woman was walking towards him. She was holding a few flowers in her hands and she was wearing her school uniform. William recognized her and was attracted to her for some reason. It was Simone's bestfriend, Amy.
"Hey Will," said Amy as she flashed him a pearly white smile.
"Hey Amy," William replied.
"Here to see Simone?" Amy asked him sweetly.
William nodded and took another puff of his cigarette. He butted it and then continued to talk to Amy. The two began to flirt. William failed to mention that he raped her bestfriend. The two decided to take a walk together.
On their walk, they started to flirt even more and were spotted holding hands. They walked into Starbucks and were talking about school, life, and Simone. Amy said that she was worried about Simone, but didn't know how to react. She had only been in a hospital for her mom having her baby brother and when she donated blood, but never for something truly serious. This was her first time seeing the ICU and seeing dying patients. It scared her and she didn't know how to respond to the little things that were happening. If Simone had died, she'd probably lose it and end-up in a psych-ward!! But Amy did care for Simone. Simone was always there for Amy when things got rough and when things were going according to plan; through the good and bad she could ALWAYS count on Simone to be there.
"Simone's out of the ICU, thankfully," said William.
"Ohh really?? That's good. I'm glad. I miss her at school, it's like she moved away and isn't ever coming back," replied Amy.
"Yea, I just feel terrible for what I did," said William.
"Did what?" asked Amy.
William immidately became alert and stammered to say that he didn't do anything. He was lying through his teeth and well, Amy was buying every word of it. Still suspicious, but she trusted William, to tell her the truth. They then finished their coffees and headed back to the hospital.
Once they returned to the hospital, Kristy informed them that visiting hours were over and Amy just ran into Simone's room to give her the flowers.
"Hey Amy," said Frank.
"Hey Frankie," said Amy.
"How's Simone?" Amy asked.
"She's getting better," replied Frank.
"That's good to hear," stated Amy.
Frank nodded, then he kissed Simone's forehead. Simone was fast asleep, due to the medication that she was on. She would be able to go home the following day and then come the next week she could return to school and get on with her life. Frank and Amy left with Kristy, Mrs. Way, Mikey, Gerard, and Ray. They all went in their separate cars, Kristy and the Ways in one, Frank in another, Amy in another, and William in his car. They all came seperately and returned back to the school. Frank went to Gerard and Mikey's room, to talk and what not. William didn't however, return back to the school. He was suspended and had to spend the night at the county court house. Kristy and Amy returned back to the school and they went to Kristy and Simone's room. Kristy was getting everything ready for Simone's homecoming. She had bought a banner that read 'Welcome Home Sugar Plum!!' and bought her some chocolate and Vitamin Water, along with a teddy bear and a card that all of their friends had signed. They all awaited in anticipation for their bestfriend to return home the following day.
