Haunted

Disclaimer: Don't own it, never will.
He was a haunted man. There were many regrets in his life, many terrible things that were better left forgotten. Yet when he was sitting here in this old dilapidated building be couldn't help but to remember. The feel of hands groping at his skin...burning a path across his chest and back. Obsidian eyes closed against the memory as if trying to block it out. His gloveless hand trailed over a mark on the wall...a red transmutation circle.
Roy could remember clearly who had made that circle so long ago. Edward had used his own blood to create this circle upon the wall of the building...a circle for human transmutation. Dark black eyes grew cold and distant as he remembered seeing the life within those amber orbs of his subordinate for the last time. Edward had seemed happy, even as he gave up his life for Roy...and for Alphonse. He'd been dying on this very floor as Fullmetal died willingly...all for the cause of his life and Al's body.
That'd been five long years ago. Since then he had married Riza and divorced her. Alphonse had fallen in love with Winry and they had a single child named James Edward Elric. The homunculi were no more and he was at the top of his game as Furher. A hateful smirk appeared on his face as he placed his hand within the middle of the alchemic circle.
"Damn you, Edward...I wasn't worth it..." he whispered to the stagnate air. Roy could smell the stench of crimson blood and almost taste the mold in the air. It was funny how somethings never changed.
"Remember Taisa...I'll be waiting for you in Hell."
A pained expression crossed over his face as he envisioned the last part of that day...and heard the last words Edward Elric ever spoke. His hand closed into a fist as he backed away from the wall. Five years to the day since he'd lost the most important thing in his life. Five years since his lover, companion, subordinate, and friend had been dead. And five years since he'd last felt any emotion outside of the realm of inexpressable depression.
Yet this time a different emotion flashed in his eyes and over his features before he turned to leave. No longer haunted by his dreams or the reality of his desperate life...the last remnants of Roy Mustang disappeared from the face of the earth.
Author: Another short one shot. Being bored really makes you write short, almost nonsense fics.
