A/N: I'm so sorry for the lack of update. I get tendonitis really bad in my wrists, and I tend to write 20 stories at once, and sometimes I get sucked into one which sometimes makes me lose track of the other 19. But I am trying to get on track with updating everything I have going until it is finished. I hope that this story hasn't lost all my readers' interest!

Davey was going through hell but he was managing. His mother had agreed to see another specialist, someone whom Davey and Paul knew about through doing some research. He was highly respected in the field. Meanwhile, Tyler was calling him and leaving messages saying that he missed him and wanted to be friends. Then there was the fact that Julian's mild and peaceful demeanor had changed and he was now crying all the time. All the time. It was hard to get him to go to sleep at night and when one did, it never lasted. He loved feeding time but he always cried like hell shortly after and he was always wanting to be held and never put in his car seat/stroller/crib.

Litzy was going crazy and they took him to the pediatrician who said he was fine, just colicky and it would go away on its own by the time he was 3 months old. He prescribed him something for it, which helped but didn't fix the problem by any means. It was just distressing because Litzy was distressed because Julian was distressed, and nobody really knew why. Litzy didn't understand how it could be that some babies had colic and others didn't. She didn't know what to do make Julian feel any better. She only knew his tummy hurt and she felt terrible for him. So she was entirely focused on keeping him comfortable and calm, which left Davey feeling ignored a lot of the time. Then other times she would freak out from all the crying and yell at him about doing his fair share of taking care of the baby. Which he felt he did do, but he had his own three ring circus going on, what with his mom being ill and the band falling apart. But she didn't want to hear about that, she'd shove Julian at him and leave the house for like three hours, once again making him feel neglected. They hadn't spent any real time together in weeks.

On one of these such days when Litzy had gone on one of her "Mommy Vacations," Davey took Julian shopping with him for groceries. He was being pretty mild-mannered that day and it was a rather pleasurable outing. Except for when he saw himself and Litzy on a magazine at the checkout. Upon second glance he saw that they were on a lot of magazines. He plucked one from the rack and stepped out of line to read it. The article was just awful. The headline read "Davey Havok's Love Life - Just as Dark and Twisted as His Music" and went on to talk about how they had proof that Litzy had worked at a strip club and they even put in photos they had obtained of her partying with people (with notoriously bad reputations), and conveniently there were drugs littered around the room - which they took the liberty of circling in red so the readers wouldn't miss it. Then they talked about tips they'd received that Litzy was a private dancer for a rich customer of the club. Meaning he would order her several nights in a month for "entertainment." They then stated that the rumor mill had it that he and Litzy were secretly married in a private ceremony in the Philippines. He didn't know how they knew that, since neither of them had told a soul. But all of it combined was enough to make him furious. The thought of some pervy guy ordering his woman up like a dish of General Tso's Chicken was enough to make him want to vomit. He read on, and the reporter mused that there was no telling how Julian would turn out, what with having a gay cross-dressing father and a cokehead stripper for a mother. When he was done reading he was mad enough to cry. Julian was already crying at that point and he wanted to just sit down and join him.

Just then his phone rang. It was Jade.

"What?" he answered, a little more hostile than he'd intended.
"Hey - I dont know what's wrong with you, but I called to tell you something you might consider to be good news."
"Good news would be welcomed right now."
"I'm at the studio."
"The recording studio?"
"Yep."
"What are you there for?"
"So we can make an album."
"What?"
"I cant quit, Davey. I miss you. I miss AFI."
"Oh my God, I am so happy to hear you say that! Jade, thank fucking God. You have no idea."
"Well get your ass down here, I'm calling the other boys."
"Can I bring Jules?"
"Dude, only if his nanny comes, too," he said, sounding thoroughly afraid.
"Alright, I'll call her," he laughed.
"I love the kid and all, but he has a set of pipes."
"Well what do you expect with me for a dad?"
"I guess you're right. He'll probably be a singer. If nothing else he could form a killer Screamo band."
"Ha. I'm on my way."

Davey bought a few of the magazines and the woman looked at them, looked at him, looked back at the magazines, cocked her head to the side and silently gave him his change. He always seemed to get recognized at the most awkward times.

He was in his car on his way to the studio when Tyler called. This time he answered. He felt kind of bad, having abandoned him like he did after the incident. And even though they had broken up, that didn't mean he shouldn't try to be a friend.

"How are you?"
"Good. A lot better. I'm off the crutches and everything."
"I'm so glad to hear that, Tyler. I was really worried about you."
"You were? It seemed to me that you were really worried about Litzy."
"You didn't call me to argue about that, did you? You know that Litzy and I live together now and we have a baby."
"I know."
"Listen, I'm gonna have to go, we're about to do some recording."
"Oh. Can I come by the studio?"
"I don't know...we're in an awkward phase right now. Having people over might not be good..."
"Just for a little while? I won't get in you guys' way. And I know what you're thinking, but I really have accepted that you're with Litzy now. I'm not trying to get in the way of that. I just want us to be friends. That's not so much to ask is it? Or am I that bad of a person that you want to cut me out of your life forever?"
"No, of course not."
"So then, can I come?"
"Okay."

When Davey arrived Jade was the only on there. Jules' nanny Trista showed up shortly thereafter and he and Jade went into another room where he showed him the magazines.

"Oh my fucking GOD," Jade said, biting his fist as he read one of the articles. "Fucking hell. Christ on a bike. This is awful."
"Yeah," Davey said, leaning back on the sofa. "It's unbelievable. How did this happen?"
Jade stared at him blankly, mouth open but nothing coming out.
"I am so sorry."
Davey exhaled and closed his eyes. "I just feel like shit. I know all that stuff was before me, but I still feel like shit. I still feel like in some way on some level she betrayed me. It's twisted and its fucked up but I just...I just wish that in my mind she could be just mine and I never had to know she was ever with anyone else. Especially like this."
"I know," Jade said.
"How could she?" he asked for the millionth time.
"I don't know."
"God, I dont know why it hurts me but it just does," he said, leaning forward, elbows on his knees. "I don't care so much that people know, it's not that. It's that Julian is going to know."
"He'll be alright."
"I hope so."
"Did you really marry her already?"
Davey nodded.
Jade looked saddened.
"I just don't know how I'm gonna face her. She's going to be so upset. And my mother has to go for another biopsy tomorrow and she's scared shitless and I can't even talk to her about it because I'm not supposed to know and Julian is miserable and Litzy's ignoring me and she thinks I dont do enough for Julian so now I feel like a bad father and..." he was getting all worked up and he could tell he was going to either just break something or burst into tears.
"Hey, it's okay," Jade said, hugging him. "It's gonna be alright. It's tough right now, but I'm here for you."
"Thanks, Jade. I missed you."
"I missed you, too."
When he pulled back a little from the embrace Jade was giving him this look. And he supposed it was the look that paralyzed him because he was completely in disbelief and hoping that what he thought was about to happen wasnt about to happen.

But it did.

Jade kissed him.
