Chapter 1- Ir

(Ratchet and Clank)

Ratchet sat in his house, playing a video game as Clank watched. He was glad that he could just relax. Several times, the fate of the galaxy had been in his hands, and every time he was the one to save the galaxy from a terrible fate. But now that the galaxy didn't need to be protected at the present, he had much more leisure time on his hands. "And how better to spend leisure time," he wondered, "than to chill?"

Clank continued to watch as Ratchet's player character perished by falling into a rather large abyss. "Allow me to try, Ratchet. I think I may know what you are doing wrong." Clank stated, in his rather formal matter.

"Aw, come on, I've almost beat this level! Ratchet retorted. He was hesitant to let Clank play, even though Ratchet had been attempting unsuccessfully to complete the same level for about a half of an hour.

"Oh...fine, then. I won't let you play next time you ask, then." Clank replied. Ratchet grumbled in response.

"Fine, be that..." was all that Ratchet could get out before he disappeared. Clank jumped at the sudden flash of green light and the loud zapping noise that it created. The controller that Ratchet had been holding dropped to the couch with a soft thumping noise. What had happened to him was that he had slipped to another dimension, but this was not apparent to Clank as he looked at the spot where Ratchet had sat just seconds ago.

"Ratchet?" Clank asked, unsure of what else to do. "Where are..." Clank began to say just before he disappeared in another flash of green light. The video game machine that Ratchet had been playing mysteriously turned off.

(Rebelde)

Diego Bustamante sat up in bed in his dormitory at Elite Way School. It was very late at night, and he suffered from an acute bout of insomnia. He had not been able to sleep at all that night. The room completely lacked light, so much so that he could not even see his own hands. All Diego could do is think about things that were happening in his life.

He had barely escaped being expelled from Elite Way School (or worse) for driving drunk and causing an accident. Roberta was a constant pain for him- she had already made an attempt to injure him by igniting a pyrotechnic device next to him while the both of them were traveling on a bus, late at night- and he wasn't exactly happy about it, either. You wouldn't be a happy camper if someone had pulled that on you.

Diego felt a wave of somnolence creep over him, and he laid back down in his bed. After a few minutes of laying down, it became apparent that this drowsiness was only an illusion, and he sat back up, annoyed.

"How come," he wondered, "that whenever I think that I can go to sleep, it's only my mind playing tricks on me?" Diego was rather frustrated at his inability to fall asleep, and he knew that if he could not fall asleep, he would not be able to go to school in the morning.

Diego's rumination was cut short by the same strange phenomenon that claimed Ratchet and Clank. The room was filled with a zapping noise for a split second as he was swallowed by the green light. Before he knew what was happening, he was falling through time and space...

(Mega Man X)

Dr. Light's final creation, known to most people as X, stood in the briefing room of the Maverick Hunter HQ. The leader of the Maverick Hunters, Signas, sat at the desk across from him, dictating to him what his mission objective was.

"As you may know, X, the Maverick insurrection in Fukuoka-shi has been going on for about two months." Signas said to X with a solemn tone of voice.

X nodded. "Continue." he stated.

"The situation is slowly growing more desperate. Thousands of civilians have lost their lives to this madness. There are just too many of them for the amount of troops we have stationed there. For this reason, we are deploying the 17th and 0th units to the area." Signas continued. "We have reports that Dynamo is behind the insurrection. Your duty, as the leader of the 17th unit, is to eliminate him." Signas finished.

"I understand my duty, sir, and I will do my best to get the job done." X said to Signas.

But in the back of his mind, he was surprised. He had never thought that Dynamo would have become so belligerent as to start an insurrection, much less in a large city of Japan. X did not doubt Dynamo's ability to start trouble, but he had not even conceived him masterminding something as large-scale as this insurrection.

X, now knowing what his job was, turned to leave the room that he was in. Like Ratchet, Clank, and Diego, however, his presence in where he lived was cut short by a brilliant green flash and a sound effect like electricity. The room fell silent.

At that precise moment, Zero disappeared from his room. Dynamo, too, disappeared from the city he was attacking, and within minutes the Mavericks formerly led by Dynamo had turned on each other and were beginning to destroy themselves.

"...X?" Signas asked, to where X had been. He had disappeared to another dimension, but unbeknownst to either of them, X wasn't the only one to be taken from their home.

(Ryu's Saga (A/N: This is the series that my story Burning Fire is from))

Dennis Ryunosuke Balan (often called Ryu) and Catherine Wheel sat out on the front porch of their house, which was also referred to as the Wheel manor, for it had been Catherine's house before she and Ryu had been married. They lived in a town named Geisler, in the state of Indiana. Geisler was close to the Kentucky-Indiana border, and it took about forty-five minutes to travel to the border of Kentucky from the center of Geisler. The Wheel manor was in the Patchwood forest, a forest that encompassed the edge of the city of Geisler and spread into the next town over, the town of Uckermann.

Catherine looked out into the brilliant red sunset. "It's such a beautiful night, Ryu." she said. "Just like the night we got married on." she added, sentimentally. Ryu noticed how her long brown hair flowed in the wind.

"Sure is, baby...There's just so many great memories around here." Ryu said before sighing.

"Is something the matter?" Catherine asked.

"You ever wonder if there are many worlds, like Kingdom Hearts or something?" Ryu asked. His jeans rustled slightly as he stretched his legs out.

This provoked Catherine's thoughts. Kingdom Hearts was one of her favorite video games, for she thought that the idea of there being many worlds was an interesting plot line, but she had always known that it was strictly fiction. "Well, no...I mean, Kingdom Hearts is fictional and everything." she stated pensively.

"You think it's a crazy idea, then?" Ryu responded. Catherine nodded.

"It would be cool if it were, though." she posited. Just then, as if it had been listening to the two speak, the same flash of green light spirited them away from Geisler. Catherine's wish was being fulfilled, but perhaps this wasn't a good thing for the two of them...
