a lot of people were shocked that Lena "died". I think after reading this, you'll be more shocked than Peter was.
Pete couldn't take the rest of the trip. He had the nerve to call Lena's home again.
"Hello?" said a familiar voice. It was Lena.
Pete said nothing.
"Hello?" Lena asked impatiently.
"Lena?" he asked.
"Yes, this is her"
"This isn't ghost?"
"What? No. Who is this?"
"Uh...this is Pete."
"Pete! I haven't heard from you. I almost forgot how your voice sounded like."
"Aw. I didn't forget about you."
Lena giggled and sighed.
"So, Peter, tell me, what's with the ghost thing?"
"Someone told me you died."
"What?"
"Yeah, I called your home; this woman picked up and said you died of leukemia."
Lena gritted her teeth,
"Maggie. Maggie did this!"
"What? Maggie?"
"It's a girl thing. Anyway, I have to call you right back."
"Okay. I love you."
Lena hung up.
Lena dialed Maggie. She still remembered the number by heart, being that they were friends in fifth grade.
"Hello?" Maggie answered.
"Maggie, what did you do?"
"What do you mean?"
"You told my friend Peter that I died of leukemia!"
"Oh that silly thing...I did a little phone tap, sue me."
"Maggie! Ugh, never mind, you don't get anything. Bye."
Lena hung up the phone with a loud bang.
She looked upon the caller ID and dialed Pete.
"Pete," she told him. "I'm not dead."
"Good! I couldn't live my life without you."
"Me neither."
"So, hows about that tour; still waiting."
"I can't. My mom and dad wouldn't let me go. They're idiots."
Pete chuckled. "Same with mine; you're not alone."
"Listen I have to go."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
Lena hung up. She couldn't believe she told Pete she loved him back.
