Dancing With Daddy
1 reviewI got the idea for this poem, while I was listening to I Loved Her First, by Heartland
1Moving
Dancing with daddy across the dining room floor, standing on his feet.
Sitting on daddy's shoulders as the parade went by.
Daddy banishing the monsters from under my bed,
frightening away the boogie man.
Daddy loving me and watching over me,
from my first breath.
He taught me to read,
he taught me to drive.
He supported me in everything I did,
Even if I didn't succeed
He has been there for me,
a guardian,
a teacher,
a knight in shining armor.
Everything I needed in a father and a friend.
Sitting on daddy's shoulders as the parade went by.
Daddy banishing the monsters from under my bed,
frightening away the boogie man.
Daddy loving me and watching over me,
from my first breath.
He taught me to read,
he taught me to drive.
He supported me in everything I did,
Even if I didn't succeed
He has been there for me,
a guardian,
a teacher,
a knight in shining armor.
Everything I needed in a father and a friend.
