forewarning: testament

(Feb 2/05) Not the earliest, but I thought it was a good opener. I'll try to keep things chronological.

forewarning: testament

this is what I leave behind
a testament for me to find
when the present's taken its toll
I'll open this drawer to take a stroll
down the cracked concrete of Back Then Street
I'll not be afraid of what I meet
for whatever happens to Me Today
makes the Me Who's Here To Stay
and I know, forevermore

I'll be okay,
I'll be okay

the names will get mixed up
the faces, hazy
the memories shan't always be clear
but my ink will stand bold
keeping a story told
the makes, the aches, the breaks, all here
the important things
of yesteryear

[february second, two-thousand five.]
