I found myself wide awake in Gerard's bed again tonight, I don't know why he don't just make me sleep on the couch. He's too nice. I rolled onto my side and found his desk with his drawings, being the nosey cow I am, I sat up and grabbed the pieces of papers off the desk and stared at them, taking in every detail.
The first picture was of a kind of cartoon vampire, it's skin was purple and it's eyes yellow. It was like something that would be seen in a children's comic book. The one behind it had a kind of a super hero glow to it, the tight costume, the way his fist was in the air. I smiled when I turned to the last picture, it was a woman, she was wearing a long dress which looked like had been worn for years, a thorn crown on her head. Her long dark hair hung in delicate curls past her shoulders. The parts that caught my eyes the most, was the blood coming from her mouth and where the crown was on her head, and also the vampiric teeth. But still, it was beautiful.
I then felt my eyelids trying to pull themselves together as if they were magnetic, my head almost dropped backward if I hadn't jerked myself back. It crossed me that I must have been tired but hadn't realized it, is that even possible? I placed the picture back in it's place and my body seemed to just slowly drop to the bed, I wasn't even in the bed, my legs were just dangling over the edge and my head just touching the wall. It wasn't long until I was fast asleep.

I heard the sound of someone trying to hold in laughter and opened my eyes. Gerard was stood at the door with a huge smile plastered on his face. "What?" "How on earth did you end up like that?" I looked at the way I was slept and shrugged. "I was looking at your pictures and kind of, fell asleep." I sat up and wiped the sleep from my eyes hearing Gerard laugh again. "My pictures are boring are they?" "No, I meant-" "Don't worry, I was joking, but anyway, get up, we want to get into town early." I nodded and Gerard left the room. I lifted myself off the bed and picked up the clothes I had on before, I know, trampy right? Never mind.
When I left the room Gerard was stood swinging keys around on his fingers and whistling. "Ready to go?" I nodded and kind of laughed at how keen he was to get into town. Gerard practically bounced down the stairs, I wonder why he's so happy. He skipped his way to his car and opened the door for me. "Wouldn't it be easier to take the bus?" "Nahh." Gerard said scrunching his nose. I ducked my head and climbed into the car waiting for Gerard to get into the driver's seat. "Seatbelt." He said grabbing his and pulling it across his body, I did the same after him. "Mirror, gears, clutch, hand brake and we're off." He sang as we pulled out of the parking space. "You're in a good mood." He looked at me. "Well, is there a reason not to be?" I shook my head and watched out the window.

I shook my head and came back into reality just as Gerard drove into the parking lot, it was pretty full but we were able to find a space. I climbed out and waited for Gerard to lock his car and follow after me. "So, what are we doing first?" "Application forms." I said with a big smile and putting the pieces of paper into his face. He smiled with me and we walked towards Hot Topic.
As we walked my eyes drifted to the floor, pieces of chewing gum passed my view and the odd cigarette butt. Then Gerard's feet came into view, his shoes were old, black and torn in some places. "You need knew shoes." "Huh?" Gerard looked down and then gave a little chuckle. "I guess I do, never really thought about new shoes though to be honest." My lips spread to show off my pearly whites. "Well, there's the plan for today." Gerard's face filled with excitement, fear and nervousness.
As soon as Hot Topic came into view, my legs gradually built up into a spazzy skip. "What on earth are you doing?" Gerard couldn't help but laugh aloud. "I haven't a clue." I said stopping and looking at my feet, my cheeks burnt so I tried to hide behind my hair. Gerard put his arm around my shoulders and we carried on our way.
Gerard held the Hot Topic's door open while I walked through. "Ladies first." He said as I passed him. I smiled bearing my teeth and walked toward the counter. It was the same person as last time, but he had his hair up in a tight pony tail and was actually smiling. If I didn't know any better, I'd say cause his hair was back so tight it pulled his facial skin with it. Poor man.
I rested my arms on the counter and waited for him to acknowledge me. He turned from the cashier. "Can I help you?" His voice still boring and slow. "Urm, yeah, here's my application form." He nodded and took it from me dismissing me at the same time and turning to someone else. Rude! I lifted my nose to his back and walked away, finding Gerard looking through the posters. "I like this one." He said to me showing off a poster of a vampire girl in a grave yard. "Me too, I'm a bit fan of Victoria Frances." He smiled. "Right, to Alter Ego!" I said linking my arm in his. He held the door open for me again and we made our way out.

The rest of the day - after I handed in my application form to Alter Ego of course - we sat down at a random cheap cafe and got our selves a milk shake. Gerard was a fan of strawberry where as I loved chocolate. I took careful slurps, trying not to make a sound, conscious much? At the same time I listened to Gerard slurp the last few drops at the bottom of his cup. He let out a belch and I burst out laughing, spitting a few drops of chocolate milk shake.
While I was sat with uncontrollable laughter, Gerard looked at me with a smile and quirked his left eyebrow. "What? It was the sound of appreciation." He said rather proud of himself. I took in that last gasp for air and let out a sigh, resting my head on my hand. Gerard shook his head with a giggle and threw his empty milkshake cup into the bin next to us.
He staid standing and looked down at me, when I had finally realised he was staring I looked up, blush, and burried my face. Gerard laughed again. "Come on, everywhere is starting to close, we best go before we're trapped in the Mall." I looked up, feeling my cheeks cooling a bit and nodded.
