When me and Gerard came back from town, I was actually able to go to my apartment. Gerard needed to go somewhere anyway, his brother Mikey phoned him about something, so yeah, that's probably why he isn't in here with me or that I'm not down there with him. Weird.
I laid on my bed - not intending to go to sleep, I mean, it's 4o'clock - I was thinking about everything. My parents, what Andrew was doing right this minute...and then, there was Gerard who seems to wriggle his way into my thoughts, and my dreams.
I shook it off and pushed myself up from the bed and made my way down the hall and into the kitchen. "A hot cup of coffee is what I need right now." I flicked the switch on the kettle and instead of watching water turn to steam, I walk into the living-room and dropped myself onto the couch, placing my head up on my hand. Not very comfortable to be honest, but I won't be here for long. The tele wasn't on, I was staring at the blank screen.
*
I blinked, the room was dark, the kettle had finished boiling, hell, I bet it finished ages ago. There was no way I was sat with my eyes open, I must've fallen asleep. I let out a sigh and got up. As I left the couch the doorbell rang. There was no point of going "I wonder who that could be." I know damn well who it is.
I opened the door with a smile, and there was Gerard, using his shoulder to lean against the doorframe. His head popped up and smiled. I opened the door with invitation and he entered. "Would you like a coffee? I would have had one by now but I dozed off." I laughed and cleared my throat. Gerard turned and looked at me. "I'd love a coffee." He smiled. I nodded and walked into the kitchen.
I boiled the kettle again, this time watching it. I felt pressure on my stomach that wouldn't ease, I hated the pressure feeling, it was like there was someone in there, pulling on your organs! Gerard was sat quietly, staring at me out the corner of his eye, playing with his finger nails.
There was a click and my body jolted back into reality, it took me a couple of seconds to remember what I was doing. I placed two cups on the side and put a spoonful of coffee in them, two sugars in mine. I poured in the water and then the milk.
As I walked out of the kitchen with the coffees, Gerard quickly sat up, taking his coffee out of my hands. "So what have you been doing since I've been gone?" He asked, taking a sip of his beverage. "I fell asleep." I giggled into my coffee. "Oh so that's why you weren't answering the door earlier." I looked at him. "You were round earlier?" He nodded. "Oh, well, I must have been asleep then."
It was silent, we didn't really have much to say. The phone rang making the both of us jump and just stare at it as if it would answer itself - then again, the answer machine was on, so it probably would - I placed my coffee on the coffee table and quickly walked to the phone and picked it up. "Hello?" "Luka?" My skin crawled at the sound of Andrew's voice. "What do you want?" "I wanted to know how you are and-" "Like you care!" Tears welled up in my eyes. "Luka listen-" "Don't call here anymore." I said in a whisper and hung up.
I watched as the tears fell onto the phone, I felt a hand on my waste. "Who was it?" "Andrew." Gerard dropped his head and looked to the floor as if the floor was going to tell him what to say. All I could do was turn around and wrap my arms around Gerard's middle. He held me back, his lips kissed the top of my head. I couldn't help but sob into his chest, making Gerard squeeze me tighter. "It's alright, he's not going to call here anymore." My sobs soon turned dry, I sounded like I had hic-ups and my cheeks turned red.
Gerard shushed in my ear, calming me. Then he did something which I wasn't expecting. His hand slid to my chin and lifted my head so I could look at him. He stared right into my eyes, he looked nervous, confused and scared. Just looking at him scared me.
Then there was warmth on my lips. My eyes were wide, and I was shocked, but I didn't push him away. He pulled away and looked at me again, awaiting my reaction.
