"Melanie I love you" said Gerard
"I love you too" Mel whispered, Gerard moved in closer and closer until their lips touched.
Melanie woke up.
"What the hell is wrong with me!?" she whispered, "No, no this is not happening"
"Mel time to get ready for school" her moms voice cut in, Mel got out of bed shakily and walked to shower. She got dressed still in a daze and deep in thought. They were starting highschool now, was Mel seriously developing feelings for her best friend? All she knew was that it was dangerous,
"Mel! wait up" she stopped in her tracks and Gerard caught up, she smelt alcohol on his breath
"Were you drinking last night?" she asked
"Well-"
"Yes or no"
"Yes" Melanie hung her head and had silent tears running down her face, "Mel it's no big-"
"It is a big deal Gerard don't try and say it's you descision and it doesn't affect anyone but you because that's a lie"
"Why are you getting so pissed!? I just drank some alcohol, besides it's my life you have nothing to do with it" Melanie looked hurt and Gerard realized what he just said, "Mel I didn't mean like-"
"No, no apparently 10 years of friendship doesn't fit in you life so do what you want I can't take anymore hurt" she walked away. Gerard tried getting her attention all day, finally he stopped her at her locker
"Melanie I'm really sorry, I was still kind of drunk." Gerard said, Melanie hugged him.
"I hate fighting with you" she said, 'Because I love you too much' she thought.
"Are you still coming over tonight?"
"What day is it?" she asked
"Friday"
"Oh yeahhh. Okay" Gerard laughed,
"Who doesn't know it's Friday" he said as they walked out of the school. Her heart dropped, 'Who doesn't know who their best friend since kindergarten is because they are so goddamn wasted' Melanie thought, "Bring your clothes sister you're staying over" she smiled and nodded.
