Delicacy

Hisoka had hobbies. He had been to many places and tried many things, not the least of which consisted of testing his skills in different fighting atmospheres over the world. But he wasn't constantly honing his skills; Hisoka had long ago reached a stage where regular practice was favorable, but not necessary. Rightfully possessing such confidence and power gave him more time to indulge in some of his other interests.
The water was cool around his calves. It moved against his skin, evidence of the fish swimming below. He remained very still, closed his eyes, concentrated solely on sensing the motions of the fish. Then he moved, quick as lightning, hand diving into the water and pulling out one that hadn't stood a chance. The fish struggled in his grip, but Hisoka had won.
He followed the recipe from memory. Illumi had suffered Hisoka's insisting on their need for all the necessary ingredients and equipment. The hotel could serve it, he'd sighed. The restaurants served it. Hisoka had insisted despite the assassin's words; cooking was a hobby.
Once he sampled his creation, he remained still, cross-legged on the grass, staring at it. Food could not quail beneath the weight of his gaze. Nonetheless, he was staring as though it would when his companion found him.
"You're never going to get it right," Illumi said, and shook his head when Hisoka tossed the sushi into the bushes.
