"Snippet"

Leorio snored. Kurapika knew this, of course; they had spent weeks in close proximity. Gon seemed fascinated, though.
"He's like a giant cat," the younger boy laughed. He was sitting next to Leorio's slumped form, staring at the sleeping man with a grin on his face. "I guess I never noticed he snored before."
"It isn't loud," Kurapika agreed, mildly amused at Gon's simplicity. "How's your arm?" Absently, he fiddled with one of his sleeves, settled back against his seat across the other two.
"It's better," the boy assured him, rising up on his knees to see over Leorio out the window. "I don't even notice it now."
"You're focused." Kurapika decided not to bring up Killua's predicament. It would only get Gon going, and the train could only travel so fast. "Are you hungry?"
As though the words had been a summon, the green-clad boy's stomach rumbled. "Eh-heh." Gon rubbed at the back of his head, sheepish. "I guess I am, a little?" He beamed. "But you can go first? I can watch Leorio and make sure he doesn't fall out of his seat."
"Or I could babysit and you could visit the dining car first," Kurapika chuckled, smiling as another rumble forced its way out.
"Jan Ken Pon, then!" Gon suggested gleefully, bouncing in his seat and leaning forward, good fist already clenched and ready.
"But why?" Kurapika wondered. "You could just--"
"Just because! Come on, come on, I'm ready." Gon drew himself up like he was preparing for a fight, a quiet "heh" escaping his lips. "Are you?"
If nothing else, Kurapika thought he humored his friends. So, "All right, I'm ready. Jan!"
"Ken!"
"Pon!"
Gon looked very pleased, considering it had only been one match of Jan Ken Pon. "I win!"
"So you did." Kurapika sat back again and folded his arms. "Why don't you go and get something to eat?"
"I won't be long," Gon said as he slid off the seat. "I knew you'd pick Rock."
Kurapika blinked. "How?" There were only three selections -- unless the game had changed since Kurapika had been small and the type to even play games.
"'Cause you're stubborn," Gon explained, and hopped out of their luxury car, leaving a bewildered Kurapika in his wake.
